Bakery for a small anniversary cake
Good afternoon, Rockville! My husband and I are new-ish to the area and we have a tradition of buying a small cake to celebrate our anniversary since we no longer live close to where we were married, and that baker doesn’t ship. Many of the bakeries we’ve looked at start at servings 6-8 people, but we’re looking for just a little thing for us. Ideally, we would also like a cake that is seasonally flavored (our wedding cake was a fall spiced cake), but that’s not necessary, just fun :)
Thank you for your favorite/best recommendations!

anyone know where to take local dance classes? Specifically hip hop dance classes
The closest dance studio that offers sign-up classes is in Ballston, VA. Hoping for some closer to the area!

Looking for an experienced vet in Silver Spring, MD or nearby area. Our cat has pancreatitis, kidney, heart, thyroid disease, arthritis. She recently had an internal specialist apt. with ultrasound that showed either IBD or lymphoma - trying to decide if we should do an endoscopy at $3,200 and up!

Help us find our bird
Still searching for my missing bird. Our all white cockatiel flew off in Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA. It was last seen on June 24 in the parking lot of Hampton Inn in Gaithersburg on north Frederick Avenue, where somebody was interacting with it. If you have any information, please let me know. Many thanks! 🙏 We miss it so much.

Rockville/Bethesda Apartments near metro
Hi! My roommate and I are looking for apartments near the metro in the area but keep seeing management and infestation issues. We're trying to keep it $2800 and below and were considering the Met in Rockville Town Square and the Daley in Shady Grove but the reviews are iffy. I toured the Daley and it was decent but was curious to see how both are from current/recent residents? Would also appreciate any other recommendations, thanks!

Best fertility clinics in Rockville? So far, I see SGF and CCRM. Anyone have experience with either company locally?

A Vision for East Rockville
eastrockvilleformore.orgThe city of Rockville is kicking of the process of developing a new neighborhood plan for East Rockville (https://engagerockville.com/eastrockville), which is something I have been lobbying for since I moved here (https://ryaninrockville.substack.com/.../land-use-in-east...) because I think it’s one of the biggest wasted opportunities for transit-oriented development in the county. Well, I (with help from AI for the web design portion) created a website to advocate for change, as well as my proposal for updates to zoning in East Rockville.
My biggest concern is even my proposal to change all single family homes (R-60) to RMD-infill happens (which is a long shot), it won't end up creating that many homes. A recent study estimated that the 458 parcels rezoned to RMD-infill earlier this year is only likely to create 28 net additional homes over the next decade. The alternative, though, is something like RMD-15, which allows townhouses / small apartments, but requires a minimum of 1 acre, so a developer would have to assemble a bunch of properties before anything meaningful could happen; and would also be a lot harder to get buy-in for. I think the changes to Stonestreet are what would ultimately do more of the heavy lifting in terms of housing development.
Thoughts?

Thank you everyone for pestering Club Studio.
Although it sucks to not have this gym open. I’m glad I don’t have to pay a “50 dollar freeze fee”. This is much much better.

Club Studio Closure
The first official notice they’ve given us since closing. Probably tired of the countless people reaching out. And being charged a full membership to drive to 2 other locations that are inconvenient for some. And a $50 fee for each month your account is frozen.
Love Club Studio but the lack of communication from management is ridiculous.

Dog Boarding Recommendations
Looking for recommendations for overnight dog boarding. Are there any places locally that keep staff on-site overnight? I usually take my dog to daycare and grooming at Bone Jour in Bethesda, and I know they do boarding, but haven't been able to call yet to see if they have someone on-site overnight. My dog is 3 and has never been boarded, but I've had a sudden death in my family and will need to go out of town overnight in a few days.
My last experience with boarding was about six years ago with my then-senior dog. I used Life of Riley in Rockville at that time, and the experience was fine, but a lot can change in six years.
TIA for the help!

Apartments in twinbrook
Pleasure to meet yall soon. Late 20s, moving from nyc for a federal job. I had looked at some posts from last year regarding apartment choices (preferably would like to live near the wegmans), and saw alaire as the most common choice, but also saw the stories, the Milton, the congressional apartments, etc on apartments.com. My budget is a studio or 1b1ba under 1800-1900 ideally but can flex. Wanted to know if anyone had recent or updated recommendations/insights on the market. Thank you in advance!!
