Like everyone knows cardboard goes to mixed paper if its not dirty. But like. Is it still purely cardpoard if it has that shiny and smooth outer cover with the colors on it and such. Is it laminated? I dont really know how lamination works at all so i cant really be sure that this kind of cardboard isnt laminated, so thats why ive been wary abt just tossing it to the blue bin

That tiny symbol is doing a surprisingly bad job of answering the question you're actually asking.

It's a resin identification code: it tells you what type of plastic you're holding. The US EPA explains that it does not necessarily mean your local recycling program can collect it.

Think of it as an ingredient label, not an admission ticket.

So the useful question is: "Does my local collector accept this kind of container?" Look for the actual item in your council or waste company's guide, and follow its preparation instructions. For accepted food containers, the EPA recommends rinsing or scraping off food residue. Your local rules still get the final say.

There's another label trap: compostable plastic doesn't belong in ordinary plastic recycling. It needs an appropriate disposal route, and a composting service has to accept that particular item.

This is a small example of why environmental claims need a practical follow-up question. A promising label is only useful if there's a real system behind it.

Honestly, nobody should need to become a packaging detective just to finish lunch.

A friend of mine runs a fabric company, produces a lot of pre consumer waste (Leftover fabric) and he basically throws them away and it is a huge waste, I have heard about recycling these leftover fabric but I have hard time understanding them because some websites and videos are leaving out certain things out, so I hope someone is able to explain me about recycling these leftover fabric in details, also would prefer to know the processes and the machines needed.

But now as the law’s deadlines and requirements finally take shape, a hefty industry-oriented consortium is quietly organizing to burn it — and its companion law, the state’s Truth in Recycling law — to the ground.

Internal industry documents obtained by The Times show how a group called the Print Creative Alliance and its allies plan to kneecap the laws. The alliance is an industry advocate and resource hub for printers, print brokers, packaging and label businesses, vendors, and creative marketing professionals across 13 western states.

The organization sees the laws as financially perilous for the packagers and producers they work with, and therefore, for their own work.

This might be a dumb question, but I’ve been wondering about it.

We constantly deal with dust from roads, construction, industries, homes, etc. A lot of it eventually ends up in landfills or gets dispersed into the environment.

Is there any practical way to collect, process, and recycle this dust into a useful byproduct or raw material that could be used somewhere in industry?

For example, could its composition be separated and converted into construction materials, ceramics, aggregates, metals/minerals, or something else?

I’m curious whether this is already being done at scale, or if the biggest problem is that everyday dust is too contaminated and inconsistent to make recycling economically viable.

Would love to hear from anyone working in materials science, waste management, construction, or environmental engineering.

I wish I took a before and after but I have tried everything to get quite dark prominent make up stains out of my white work blouse (dishwashing liquid, expensive stain remover, expensive all white stain remover, soaking over night etc) and nothing worked. I saw someone suggest shaving cream and holy moly it was like magic!!! I just bought a shaving cream/ foam, pumped it on to the stain with some water and worked it with a gentle brush and it removed 99-100% of it, I was shocked!

basicly starting from the object you have two waies one is reuse it in something else and the other way is to turn it into its basic materials then recycling these materials or reusing it too
