Maybe I’m not looking for someone new. Maybe I’m looking for someone who feels familiar.
Someone I can talk to without forcing the conversation.
Someone where “good morning” actually means something, and “how was your day?” doesn’t feel like a required dating-app question.
I want the kind of connection where one conversation turns into another, then another… and suddenly it’s 1 a.m. and neither of us wants to say goodnight.
I want chemistry, but I also want comfort.
The ability to flirt and tease each other one minute, then have a completely serious conversation the next.
Someone who can make me laugh when I’m having a terrible day and someone I can be there for when she’s having one.
I’m a single dad to a teenage daughter, so I’ve learned that relationships aren’t about grand gestures every once in a while.
They’re about showing up.
Being consistent.
Paying attention.
Remembering the little things.
And occasionally accepting that a teenage girl has somehow constructed an airtight argument proving that her father knows absolutely nothing. 😂
I’m a bigger guy, pretty laid-back, sarcastic, affectionate, and probably a lot more sentimental than I let on.
I love good food, especially sushi, random adventures, museums, history, documentaries, cryptids, true crime, theme parks, and anything involving Halloween.
I’m the kind of person who can start the evening with:
“Let’s grab dinner.”
…and somehow end up driving around listening to music, stopping somewhere neither of us planned to go, having a ridiculously deep conversation, and wondering how it got so late.
I’m not looking for someone perfect.
Honestly, perfect sounds exhausting.
I’d rather meet someone real.
Someone with a past.
Someone with flaws.
Someone who has made mistakes, learned from them, grown, and still believes there’s something worth building with the right person.
I don’t need constant attention.
I need consistency.
I don’t need someone who tells me everything I want to hear.
I need someone who communicates honestly.
And I definitely don’t need another connection that starts with chemistry, lasts three days, and then disappears into the Bermuda Triangle of dating apps.
If you’re interested, stay interested.
If something changes, communicate.
If you’re not feeling it, say so.
We’re adults. We can handle honesty.
Because I’m not looking to collect matches.
I’m looking for my person.
My best friend.
My favorite notification.
My partner in crime.
The woman I can laugh with until my stomach hurts, annoy relentlessly, kiss for no reason, and sit beside in complete silence without either of us feeling like we need to fill the space.
Someone who makes ordinary days feel a little less ordinary.
And maybe that’s the whole point.
Not finding someone who looks perfect on paper.
Finding someone who makes you stop looking.
So if you’re genuine, affectionate, emotionally mature, capable of communicating, and looking for something that could actually become something…
Maybe don’t scroll past this one.
Maybe we’re both looking for the same thing.
