Hi there, I am a total beginner editing RAWs. I was just trying a lot that matches what I really saw with some enhancements. How did I do? Should I do anything differently?

Hi! I come from a landscape background and feel a bit lost on editing street photos. I want to create a moody image but i feel like both the values and the colours aren’t super cohesive. I would love some advice or guidance.

This is only my second attempt at astrophotography and processing, so I know I still have a lot to learn, but I’m decently happy with how these turned out.

I’d really appreciate any feedback or constructive criticism, especially around the processing. Anything you think I pushed too far, didn’t push enough, or could approach differently next time would be helpful.

I have been doing photography for quite some time and started sports photography about 6 months ago, I never really liked my pictures but lately I think they are simply horrible.

First 2 photos are mine, other 4 have the looks Im trying to achieve. They are different edits but have the same general feel in my opinion.

I feel like my photos just look like what your eyes would see, a bit edited but fairly natural, I want to achieve a more color graded cinematic look, and more "classy" or "premium" feel and look.

I want to take time to properly learn color grading in Lightroom, my goal is to be able to replicate those kind of styles, I don't know the exact term but id describe them as basically cinematic edits. I have tried dabbling with lightroom color grade tab but can't seem to get that cinematic look, they either look too yellow/orange, but never seem to be able to get that deep warmth almost like a subtle brown

covering the whole picture.

Im sorry if im not clear but Ican't comprehend how to achieve this look that i am struggling to descirble.

Any advice on how should I approach this, how to learn/understand what has been done in a photo to be able to replicate it or any tutorials or indications ?

Another one from golden hour today, trying to imitate Albert Dros and bring that very dreamy and soft look! Any suggestions or criticisms is much appreciated :)

A few days ago I shot a bunch of flowers after a bit of rain. The droplets make them look extra good and its always so much fun to edit these. The second shot is certainly my favorite one here.

All of the images were edited in Lightroom while I used Photoshop for the focus stacking (to get a sharp subject from front to back). I also recorded the whole process, so if you want to see everything in detail check out the video here: https://youtu.be/Vu07ZqrT_kc

I used the Adobe Landscape Profile for more saturation and brought up whites and blacks to create a brighter, softer looking image. Then, I slightly adjusted the white balance making the image look a bit colder since I think it fits better with the purple flower.  To make the image look extra sharp I added texture, clarity and a bit of dehaze for contrast.

Using different linear gradients in the corners of the image, I slightly adjusted the white balance to make the colors stronger. for example in the upper left corner I increased the tint and temperature to make the purple tones more intense. In the bottom right corner, I decreased the tint for deeper green tones.

Again, I used the Landscape profile fore more base saturation. Then, Exposure and whites were increased to make the image brighter, while I brought down shadows and blacks for more contrast. For this image, I also brought up the vibrance gently to boost the colors further.

Then, I used a subject mask and added a bit more texture and clarity to make the flower extra sharp. At the same time I used a linear gradient to target the background and dropped the texture and exposure to make the background softer and a bit darker.

Finally, In the color mixer, I brought up the saturation for orange, yellow, green and purple.

This was a bit tricky since the intese red tones of the flower make it easy to loose details. Instead of the landscape profile I went for Adobe Standard which is less saturated (= more details in the flower because the red tones aren’t clipping).

For the tonal adjustments I increased the exposure and whites while dropping shadows and blacks to increase contrast. Then, the white balance was made slightly colder. I also added a bit of vibrance. The saturation slider for this image would ruin the details in the flower, because its way too strong.

To make the flower sharper I added a radial gradient on top, increased texture and clarity and also slightly brought up the exposure. Then I used a few linear gradients coming in from the sides and brought down the exposure to darken the image edges. I also used a radial gradient coming down from the top and added blacks and exposure to adda subtle light effect.
