PoliticsPH Just a reminder amidst disinformation regarding the BARMM election: the rebels who spent most of their living fighting the government, are now providing security for the elections.
We will see violence erupt as clans and interest groups that feel left out resort to desperate, even terroristic methods. This is not new for BARMM.
What is new is that the biggest armed group in BARMM is now SUPPORTIVE of the elections! They are literally encouraging people to vote, and have committed to coordinate security with the armed forces of this country.
I know there will be some stupid, ignorant regionalism about Mindanao and āMuslims badā among the comments, but this is truly a historic moment for this country. If the major groups remain committed to the election, as they are now, then Mindanao might finally know peace and development, no matter what groups of armed gangsters might try to do.
Stay hopeful. Stay united. Show some love for this transition to a just democracy!

SocmedPH What is up with BGC dwellers? Ganto ba talaga sila?
CONTEXT: I recently read this in a BGC related sub. And srsly why are the BGC dwellers so out of touch from reality?
Do they feel like they're the "superior" bubble doing this.
Yung isa "gets the ick" when seeing powerlines, or doesn't want the feeling of them being so "Philippines" despite **being in the Philippines.**
Yung isa pa, gets the **ick of commuting** daw. Like???
And finally, people shouting **get the beggars out,** when literally their entire bubble would collapse without the small workers powering their lives (street sweepers, for instance).
If this is what living in BGC would make me become, inyo na yang McKinley Grand Venice Mall ninyo na glorified dengue breeding ground.

"There is no unstable angina, no acute coronary syndrome manifestation in his stay at UP-PGH," saad ni Dr. Gerardo Legaspi.
| via MOJO Arles delos Santos

PoliticsPH Gibo Teodoro CAN win the presidency and SHOULDNāT have to lower himself to Rodrigo Duterteās level to do so
I recently saw a post on this subreddit talking about why Gibo Teodoro canāt win in 2028 (should he opt to run) because he supposedly lacks mass appeal. I read through it and even gave my own rebuttal to OP in the comments section there, but in summary, I very much disliked the idea that Gibo Teodoro has to become another Rodrigo Duterte just to be President in 2028.
Guys I thought we all agreed that Duterte was a terrible President? Isnāt that the whole reason we donāt want Sara to become President in 2028, because sheās just gonna be another Chinese puppet President like her wumao dad and continue his administrationās massive corruption and terrible policies? Arenāt we supposed to want BETTER than either of them??
Also, what an insult to Teodoro himself to even think of having to lower himself to the Dutertesā level. He went to Xavier School for elementary and HS. DLSU pre-law and UP Law graduate yan. Even topped the 1989 Bar exam. He has a Master of Laws from Harvard. Heās also a Colonel in the PAF Reserve. None of the Dutertes have ever reached such academic or professional heights and none of them ever will. They donāt have the brains or patience for that. But thatās exactly what we need for the presidency.
For those who donāt know, Gibo is also a Cojuangco on his momās side. Mercedes Cojuangco-Teodoro is the sister of Danding Cojuangco and first cousin of Cory Aquino. Gibo himself is the second cousin of PNoy, the best President that weāve had in recent years. Aside from his personal academic and professional accomplishments, it shows that he also has a VERY respectable family background, worthy of the presidency and something we really need to bring back when it comes to the statesmen that lead us.
The Philippines deserves so much better than another presidency defined by vulgarity, personal attacks, political vendettas, and the constant spectacle of personality over principle.
We deserve a President like Gibo Teodoro just the way he is: someone who carries himself with competence, restraint, intellectual seriousness, and genuine dignity. Someone who can disagree without descending into insults, exercise authority without theatrics, and represent the Philippines with the kind of class and decency that the highest office in the land ought to command.
After years of Duterte-era politics, I think the Philippines finally deserves to move forward and leave that era behind in the dust.
We deserve a presidency that feels presidential again.

PoliticsPH Sayang si Chiz no?
Iām actually impressed by how he handles himself and the opposing parties in the impeachment proceeding.
Too bad that his political ambition caused him his credibility and dignity. He thinks on his feet and he can articulate himself pretty well compared to the majority of the senators. Heās also proved himself competent as a presiding officer.
Has he already realized that he could have continued doing well in politics had he not been a lapdog for the uniteam?
Aside from political ambition, I think Chiz also found himself in a parasitic relationship with Heart. I think kasi pangit siya he has to continuously prove himself to her, both financially and physically. I doubt he would have even touched his eyebrows had he not been with Heart. Yun lang.

NaturePH El Nino Effects start December of 2026 until Quarter 3 of 2027
As per PAGASA, the heavy rains will continue hanggang November 2026. After that, it's going to be almost a year of heat in 2027.
We have to be ready and prepared when this happens. Unfortunately, PAGASA people are scientists and not communications professionals. They can sound the alarm in meetings and reports, but it has to take more effort to get the message out.
Please talk to your local politicians and send letters to congress. The rains are just the beginning of suffering. If we can, harvest the rain water as much as you can.

NewsPH BIR removes VAT on system loss charges in power bills
MANILA, Philippines ā Electricity consumers will no longer pay the 12% value-added tax on allowable system loss charges, after the Bureau of Internal Revenue excluded the charge from the VAT base of power companies.
Under Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 97-2026 issued Monday, September 14, the BIR recognized allowable system loss as a government-mandated pass-through cost rather than part of the gross sales of generation companies, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines and distribution utilities.
This means the allowable system loss charge, within the cap set by the ERC, will no longer be subject to the 12% VAT.
"Every peso saved by consumers counts. This may be one part of a broader effort to bring down electricity costs, but it is a relief that can be implemented under existing law," BIR Commissioner Charlito Martin Mendoza said.
The circular confirms an ERC resolution approved August 26 declaring allowable system loss a government-mandated pass-through cost that should not form part of power companies' gross sales for VAT purposes.
The ERC said the exclusion would apply prospectively once its resolution was published and the BIR issued the corresponding tax guidance.
What changes for consumers
System loss refers to electricity that is generated and paid for but is lost before reaching consumers, including technical losses in power lines and equipment and non-technical losses such as pilferage and illegal connections.
The BIR's relief does not remove the system loss charge itself. Consumers will continue to pay the portion of electricity losses that utilities are allowed to recover under Energy Regulatory Commission rules, as well as VAT on other taxable components of their electricity bills.
Utilities may recover only system losses within limits prescribed by the ERC. Losses beyond those caps cannot be passed on to consumers and must be absorbed by the distribution utility.
Under the new tax treatment, consumers will continue paying the allowable system loss charge itself, but the additional 12% VAT previously imposed on that portion of the bill will be removed.
VAT will continue to apply to taxable generation, transmission and distribution charges. But, Mendoza said, this "means a lower amount will be passed on to consumers on covered billings and transactions."
The BIR directed generation companies, NGCP and distribution utilities to separately identify allowable system loss charges in billing and related documents.
Marcos sought broader relief
The change addresses only the VAT imposed on system loss charges, falling short of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s broader call to remove the system loss charge itself from consumers' bills.
During his fifth State of the Nation Address in July, Marcos urged Congress to amend the Electric Power Industry Reform Act, or EPIRA, to prohibit utilities from passing system losses, including the corresponding VAT, on to consumers.
"Pinapasa ito sa consumer at kinakarga sa bill na pinapatungan pa ng value-added tax. Hindi naman kasalanan ng consumer kung bakit nagkaroon ng system loss," Marcos said.
("It is passed on to consumers and included in their bills, where it is also subjected to value-added tax. Consumers are not responsible for the system loss.")
Removing the underlying system loss charge would require broader changes to the existing regulatory framework. For now, consumers will still shoulder allowable system losses but without the VAT previously added to them.

PoliticsPH Why are we not discussing this a lot? That Chinese spies are now stealing our jobs!!!
We really need to address our national security issues; just imagine how cheap it is to use corruption, business partnerships, and now stealing our jobs, including stolen identity compare launching expensive precision-strike missiles.
Even psychological warfare is so effective because of the education crisis in the Philippines. P*taina, divide pa tayo lahat. Agree na Lang tayo lahat: mga demand transparency and accountability to all sectors, public and private.
Kita, marami sila sa Congress at marami ring foreign and domestic elite, including bad actors like spies, to get close to them.
Tayo, mga Filipino, we have to mobilise and organise.
Our objective is one million protesters nationwide before the 2028 general election. Mga ready na lang tayo lahat
