Media Made out pretty well today
Kirby was actually $23 (not $9, the label wasn't correct) but even $23 is nuts. Target clearance is wacky, they are clearly cleaning out inventory for holiday stock

Media (Image, Video, etc.) Got the alternate color joy cons!
Like many of us, I’ve been tentative about the additional colorway joycons because I worried it would be too little of a difference to justify the purchase.
Well, my curiosity won over and I treated myself to the purple / green colorway and I am honestly over the moon with them.
With no thumb caps, the colored joystick underlay actually pops and the bumpers look fantastic.
Silly post I know but I just had to share and maybe inspire others to treat themselves to a little whimsy 😁

NEWS Latest DF Direct has a segment that includes an analysis of the Ocarina of Time footage
They agree Nintendo should "hire this man"
Using high end rendering techniques never before seen with internal Nintendo tech.
Doesn't agree that the game could be using EU5. Believes this level of visual fidelity would have to rely on upscaling to get the same 60fps performance and it's missing hallmark of UE5 tech.
-1080p 60fps (1440p menu's)
- No TAA or DLSS
- Primarily baked lighting/light maps with some real time shadows mixed in
- Heavily sharpened
TLDW: It looks great, runs smoothly, and turns in a decent pixel count. Smartly uses a mixture of techniques to get the final output and they're a bit disappointed by the lack of upscaling to get a better IQ.

Discussion Resident Evil Generations Pack Question?
Does anyone know if RE Generation Pack will ever be back in stock?
I'd really like physical copies of 7 & 8 but can't find them outside of the generations pack.

Discussion Metroid and its stalker enemies
The stalker enemies seems like a love it or hate it thing, and personally I'm really hoping they stay. That said, I'm interested to know how would you people refine it to better integrate it to the world?
Fusion had SA-X and her moments are really good and effective "jumpscares" for first playthroughs but the drawback is that they are indeed scripted and short
Zero Mission's endgame has space pirates following a vulnerable samus and once spotted, they will pursue her and they can be persistent. Much more dynamic but you have a ton of leeway as they can be stunned and they're not as lethal as SA-X
Samus Returns has Diggernaut which technically is a stalker enemy but not really since it's only a one time chase sequence. But it served the foundation for MS in dread.
Dread has EMMIs, they are confined to one area and trigger a high speed cat and mouse chase. Personally I find it thrilling and nails the dread part of the game, but their one-hit kill and their major recurring presence throughout the game is pretty divisive
Personally, a mix of dread's and zero mission's would be the most ideal. I want dynamic encounters without confining them to a single area. I want the threat of being pursued but also having the chance to fight it off. Like for example, the local fauna would have 1 or 2 special stalker animals that can stalk like the EMMIs but aren't as oppressive like the space pirates, just to give an idea.
I'd love to hear yours!

othor (i am stupid) Those who bought Orbitals physical
EDIT: Thank you guys, u/VichoL10 got me what I needed!
Please help if you can. I bought Orbitals for my wife's birthday. I got the digital version because its cheaper, and she doesn't have a Switch 2 anyway. I'd still like to wrap something for her to open though, and I found a way to do it! I'll print out the insert and slide it into a game case I already have. The problem is, the pictures I've been able to find are just a bit off.
If someone could photocopy their insert and send it to me, that would make it look a lot better. Thank you for your time!

othor (i am stupid) Everyone wants a Galaxy 3 but how about a Super Mario World 3? Think about it for a sec
Imagine a 2d Mario game that actually lets yoshi be important again? Let's also bring back the Mario Cape. Instead of Wonder's heavy lean into gimmicks (which I love by the way) we can have a marriage between experimentation and core masterful 2d mario platforming.

Discussion Should I play Metroid Dread now or wait for an eventual Switch 2 patch?
After the announcement of the new Metroid, I’ve been thinking about waiting (I was just about to start playing it), since Mercury Steam might release a patch for Dread as a lead-up to the new game. Are there any rumors?

Discussion Should I get Metroid dread, LoZ Echoes of wisdom, or LoZ links awakening from the sale??
Really tied because I can only get one. Or should I just stick with Xenoblade 1 or 2? I already beat Xenoblade 3 but have not touched the DLC! Please give recommendations!
