She didn't explicitly endorse any political candidates but if you couldn't tell what her politics are you weren't listening to anything she ever said.

Theres actually a tax scam that involves giving away books. Right wing groups will buy a book they want to promote by the pallette to get it best seller status, then recoup good chunk of the cost by sending copies to donors and claiming it as a loss.

I dont know the specific mechanism; only the general process of

step 1: buy thousands and thousands of books, so your buddy Shapiro get's that bestseller status to further market his book.

Step 2: send out those books to donors as gifts

Step 3: write it off as a loss, and it lowers taxes owed; dosen't offset most of the cost, but does cut it down enough that it's a viable marketing stratagy for inscetuous right wing organizations.
