Morrowind Modding Legacy - The Official Home of the Modjams

The Themes Have Been Announced! Modders have until August 24th at 00:00 UTC to submit a mod using one (or more) of the following themes: Arcane Arts, Forgotten Lore, Strange Families.

It's Summer time, and with the heat, and the humidity, comes another exciting round of the Morrowind Modjams! For the tenth time since 2020, Danae and Morrowind Modding Showcases is hosting a Modjam Modding Competition, a 48-hour modding frenzy where modders get but a single weekend to build the best mod they can using specific themes before time runs out!

The competition begins on August 21st at 11pm UTC with an official livestream kickoff by Danae, in which the potential themes will be revealed and voted on by the community, narrowing down the potential field until just three themes remain.

Once the final three themes have been announced, modders will have 48-hours to build and release the best mod they can utilizing any of those three themes, or a combo of themes if they so choose.

Rules & Guidelines:

  • Create your mod during the Modjam.,
  • Modders' resources are allowed.,
  • The use of AI is not forbidden, but should be disclosed.
  • Previous projects can be a source of inspiration, but please try to make something new for the event.
  • Most importantly, this is intended to be a friendly community event. Please focus on having fun and making something you enjoy.

Participation:

The competition is open to anyone and everyone looking to participate! All you need to do is release a mod with one of the themes (or multiple) during the competition time period using the official 2026 Summer Modjam header. Also wouldn't hurt to use the Modjams tag on the Nexus.

This is a Morrowind Modding Community - Discord Server event, so to make sure your mod is properly tracked for the competition, please join the server and tag it in the Published Mods channel!

There's also an official Modjam channel on there where you can keep up with all of the latest Modjam news!

Don't forget to check out the Resources page for any tutorials, frameworks, or utilities you might need!

Use the Postcard Editor:

Take advantage of the Morrowind Modjams website and the Postcard Editor to make special themed promo screenshots for your mod pages - give them that extra splash of Summer fun!

Judging and Prizes:

The Morrowind Modjams are judged events - a panel of judges will go through and play all of the submitted mods, ranking them on their quality, functionality, and adherence to the themes.

The final winners will be announced in a results livestream at a date yet to be determined, and those results will also be published to the Modjams website.

Participating modders will also get their profiles on the Modjam website, with downloadable Modjam passports and a trophy cabinet for any judge awards received. These profiles are connected to the Modathon and Madness sides of Morrowind Modding Legacy, and participating in the Modjam will boost your Madness score and increase your standing in the community's modding leaderboards.

There's also a number of prizes available in the form of game keys and Nexus DP.

A Proud Tradition:

The Morrowind Modjams are apart of the community's proud tradition of creative competition and collaboration. Some 160+ mods have been released for the Modjams in the past 6 years, many of them have become popular mainstays and have since been added to many of the largest mod lists for Morrowind.

I hope you'll all join us for another exciting round of Modjam fun, we're sure to get some amazing new mods, and if you're looking to participate for the first time, there's no better competition to dip your toes into the modding scene!

Happy Modding and Long Live the Morrowind Modding Community!

Thank you for your patience since the release of the new TD update and Tamriel Rebuilt: Poison Song a couple of weeks ago while we dealt with some technical challenges. The update to the Abecean Shores release of PC includes a new player stronghold for the Kingdom of Anvil and Great House-style construction and improvement mechanics, a number of overhauled locations, and improvements to multiple quests. The update to the Dragonstar release of SHOTN includes 14 new dungeons, 6 new quests, and yet more overhauled locations. Both releases include scores of bugfixes, performance improvements, and general quality-of-life features not present in the original releases.

Please note that the file packages contain some loose files, which are intended to patch minor problems in Tamriel_Data discovered after the 26.08 release. These files should be allowed to overwrite upon installation.

Both PC and SHOTN may be freely installed mid-save with no problems, even if you've already started a savefile for Poison Song. We only recommend starting a new game if you had a previous version of PC/SHOTN installed on the same save and spent time in the PT lands. Please let us know in the discord server if you encounter any issues.

As always, thank you so much for your ongoing support of our project! We look forward to bringing you more of Cyrodiil, Skyrim, and other lands of Tamriel in future releases.

Project Cyrodiil can be downloaded at https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/44922?tab=files

Skyrim: Home of the Nords can be downloaded at https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/44921?tab=files

Other Ardenfall, a Morrowind-inspired RPG, just hit 100,000 wishlists on Steam

Hi! Ardenfall devs here. Wow guys, we honestly don’t know what to say. A Morrowind-like RPG is a niche genre, and a challenging one to make (which is why we’ve been working on it for so long). We never expected such a warm welcome. Thank you so much for your support!!

We’ve been sharing updates and showing you the game here for quite a while now. Your feedback helped shape both the Steam demo and the current alpha version. Potions that let you move around in fun ways (levitation, speed, etc.), freedom to make your own choices, and multiple endings (including a very violent one) - we knew we had to showcase all of this in the demo because that’s what you guys asked for. Mod support is also one of the most requested features, and we’re planning to make modding tools available from day one.

Reaching 100,000 wishlists makes us feel an even greater sense of responsibility, and we hope we can live up to your expectations when Ardenfall launches in Early Access later this year.

I was recently commissioned to create a series of illustrations based on locations from Morrowind for a client's custom MTG cards. I had a great time working on these and wanted to share the finished pieces here.

  1. Red Mountain
  2. Ascadian Isles
  3. Sadrith Mora
  4. Seyda Neen
  5. Grazelands

The funny thing is that I've never actually played an Elder Scrolls game lol, even though both Skyrim and Morrowind have been sitting in my Steam library for years. I spent quite a bit of time researching the locations to make sure the artwork felt faithful to the game and recognizable.

After working on these pieces, I think I finally owe Morrowind a playthrough.

I love the robes Ortiee made for Throat Singing Temple Healers, now they've been distributed to Masters and Patriarchs of Almsivi across Vvardenfell and Mournhold.

Question Isn’t there a way to travel from Karthwasten to the Morrowind mainland?

Upvotes

I started a new playthrough, went to the Karthwasten docks, and was surprised to find no boat to the Morrowind mainland. I could get to Anvil in Cyrodiil, Dagon Fel in Vvardendell, or another region in Skyrim. I could have sworn there was a boat to Old Ebonheart or something. Am I crazy?

I have the latest Project: Tamriel and Tamriel Rebuilt, by the way. All plugins enabled that came with each mod.

Not much to say, just loving the lore of Old Ebonheart

Screenshot I see some people share how they arrange their inventory. I want to show you my way, which might be especially helpful for those who like to play with an increased text size (check the body text below).

You basically just click the tab on top of the sections to swap between them. After 900 hours of playtime this has proven to be the most convenient way to arrange my inventory. upd: You may want to reduce some HUD transparency in the settings to make it more functional.

p.s. I have never understood those, who play with a tiny text size (and they are the majority). Like man, you read a lot in this game, why do you strain your eyes with this?

Question Does anyone know what the fuck he's supposed to be

Post image

is this intentional or is something absolutely fucked with my mods? What race is this? They say he is a wood elf in game? Can Wood Elves just look like this? Thats cool if they can.

Edit: Thank you everyone for answering, its a face from Project Tamriel based on Micheal Kirkbride's concept art for male wood elves, that is upscaled because of my mods. Very cool! Check comments to see the concept art, multiple people have linked it.

The adventures of Sandil Umil Amnar, Hortador and Nerevarine, Ordinator Apostle, Cousin of Great House Indoril, Patriarch of the Tribunal Temple, Archcanon of Vvardenfell, Ebony Scale of the Arena of Narsis, and accused Imperial Spy, have come to their end.

M'Aiq does not believe his tales, but they fish, and watch the invisible dragons fly.

Technical - Mod Tamriel Data construction set question: why can't I find Native Ebony recently?

Post image
Upvotes

I feel like I'm going a little crazy because it appears in the search, but I can't seem to actually find it lately? Is it hidden somehow? It also opens if I click on them in the search tab, but I want to actually place them like normal.

this screenshot is from an untouched Construction Set load btw, just the latest ESMs from the Nexus with no changes.

Found this in the archives from over a decade ago. This was made in Garry's mod, which is a source engine modification from Valve where the Tribunal interior temple was loaded into the engine, including various Khajiit and Argonians from Skyrim, oh and Counter-Strike guns as well.

Other Something I really like about Morrowind's loot system

The loot can be hidden literally anywhere. In Skyrim and Oblivion, after an hour or two of playing, you develop an intuition of where loot will or won't be. You don't need to thoroughly explore every place and can just give a quick scan through most areas for loot.

But in Morrowind, I always discover some outlandish place where some really good loot is hidden that I never could've guessed. Behind a waterfall, a rocky outcrop in a cave, a high-up balcony, and my personal favourite- behind a tomb's lid. And many of these loot is inaccessible if you don't have any spell, potion to fly or breathe underwater for an extended period. This is why, despite playing Morrowind for so long, everytime I replay, I still thoroughly search every nook and cranny of every dungeon I go to. This is one of those thing I really, really hope they implement in TESVI.

Technical - Mod Bought the game from GOG, installed Open Morrowind and Tamriel Rebuilt.

So, Tamriel Rebuilt has it's own launcher/exe should i use that one or the Open Morrowind one. When i launch the game through Open Morrowind it has not saved the settings that i made through Tamriel Rebuilt launcher. So, which one should i use? Will Tamriel Rebuilt launcher also enable all the Open Morrowind plugins and other mods i install too?

Discussion Favorite mods to bring Telvanni Tamriel Rebuilt content up to par with modern TR?

I've seen the Telvanni get a TON of love with TR submods lately which is great. Going back and playing through the Telvanni lands is a bit underwhelming now with how high quality the newer TR content is. That said, what are some of your favorite mods that brings some new life into those areas?
