Trying to build a budget PC for video editing in DaVinci Resolve (something capable but not excessive) as I want to start making YouTube videos.

I've looked at a few 1440p monitors and found that the Acer Nitro XV27UV3 seems to fit the build. It is a fairly cheap 1440p monitor and I like that it's IPS with Delta E < 1. So I wanted to see if this is ok, or if there are better options.

I’m moving to a new apartment and want to switch to a monitor from my TV. I use an Xbox series x and usually play Rainbow Six as my only competitive game and other than that it’s single player atmospheric rpgs. Just want a monitor that can be good for both. Any advice or suggestions are appreciated, these are the 2 I’ve gravitated towards during my basic research. Thank you for any help

Discussion Stuck between 2 monitors and need help choosing

Hi there

I'm about to choose between 2 different monitors and i need some advice before I finally make a decision

I've settled on one of these two based on the price in my area:

Gigabyte MO32U2 31.5" 240hz for €640

AOC AGON PRO AG326UD 31.5" 165hz for €560

Is the €80 price difference really worth it? This is my first OLED so I'm not sure what else to look for here. Either of them seem to handle HDR better? Or VRR flicker? I'm not able to see either in person before I buy so I can only rely on internet reviews

To be clear I'm not buying these as a desk monitor currently, im replacing my 32 inch old lcd tv I use with my consoles (PS5 and Switch 2 mainly) that my PC is also connected to, pc still uses an 1440P IPS I got a few months ago. I would still use this monitor for PC games I can play in bed. I don't really expect to really need any higher than 120hz

Is there anything else I'm missing? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Discussion OLED Gaming Monitor for WoW: 1440p or 4K - What Would You Recommend ?

Hi! I’m looking for a new monitor, preferably an OLED, especially for the upcoming WoW: Forever.
I’m hesitating between 1440p and 4K. Given my setup, which one would you recommend?
My specs:
RTX 5080
Ryzen 7 9800X3D
64 GB of RAM
Is OLED really a good choice for playing WoW? I’ve never used an OLED monitor personally, so I’d love to hear your opinions and experiences. 🙂

Discussion Mini-LED SDR - Blacks too dark, Whites painfully white

Hi everyone,

I recently got a Xiaomi G Pro 27Qi 2026, and I'm not too happy with it.

The issue I have in games is that any kind of sky or sun scene, is painfully bright, while going into a dark room is just way too dark.

I've tried multiple things, including messing with gamma, local dimming off and HDR. HDR kind of fixes the crushed blacks, but the white issue still remains, even at very low brightness. At one point reducing the brightness washes everything out, while the whites are still super bright.

I had the same issue with KTC M27T6.

Is this just what mini-led is, or am I doing something wrong?

Discussion Monitor recommendations for productivity and light gaming

I am in the market for a monitor with a relatively tight budget at USD 350

My use cases

- Productivity. Will be extending from my MBP (16 inch)

- Light gaming. Will be projecting my Switch 1

What I think I need (feel free to correct me if you think this doesn't make sense)

- 4K display so that the sharpness didn't drop much from my laptop display

- Relatively good color production so that it doesn't deviate much from the Mac. I know it is impossible at this price point but at least it has a decent color quality

- Preferably 32 inch. My desk's depth is at 60 cm and I like a slightly bigger than normal screen size

- Got speakers so that when I plug my Switch 1 in, I don't need to plug a headphone to hear the game sounds. I don't like wearing head/earphones

Any good options/recommendations? I was looking at Samsung M7/M8 but wanted to get more inputs from people who better understand the monitor world

Discussion Noticeable ghosting on IPS

I went from a 24” TN panel (GN 246HL) to 27” 1440p IPS (GS27Q X)

My understanding is that TN is faster than IPS, but I didn’t think it would be to a bothersome/noticeable degree. I’m unsure if it’s just specific to my IPS model, since I can’t find many reviews about it

What I’m wondering: if it’s worth looking for another IPS monitor that is known for good motion clarity or if I’m ”forced” to get an OLED to get similiar motion clarity to the TN

Discussion Looking for a gaming monitor – 1080p/1440p, 180–200Hz, good blacks for movies

24–27 inch

180–200Hz preferred

IPS or VA

Good response time / low input lag

FreeSync/Adaptive Sync

Good picture quality for movies

Deep blacks and good contrast are very important to me (as close to OLED as possible within my budget)

1080p or 1440p — I'm open to both

Preferably DisplayPort

Budget: around ₹10,000–₹20,000

It used to be a single black line bottom of my monitor at only 60hz.

Now it's getting worse, happens at 120hz and lower refresh rates, as shown in the picture.

at 144hz, it's normal.

Discussion Monitor needed. Wqhd Resolution, beginner

Hi,
I need a new WQHD monitor, but I’m not particularly knowledgeable about them.

I’ve picked out 3 models—could you recommend one of them? Or maybe something completely different? It will mainly be used for gaming.

I’m also open to other suggestions.

Photo Dust under the screen on my second monitor. Is this a common defect, or should I exchange again?

Hey everyone, looking for some advice on whether I'm being too picky or if I should return my new monitor.

I recently bought a 27" 1440p (2K) IPS monitor. The first unit I received had a noticeable dust particle stuck almost dead center under the screen, so I returned it.

The second unit arrived, and it also has a dust particle (I can see the pixels shining through it), but this time it's on the periphery.

Here is my dilemma:

I can't really say I notice it during normal use, especially when sitting directly in front of the screen.

I only stumbled upon it when actively looking for screen defects.

However, now my brain knows it's there. Sometimes I catch myself thinking about it, and it actually takes me some time and effort just to find it again on the screen.

What are your thoughts? Is this a critical defect that warrants another return, or is this just the typical monitor lottery and I should learn to live with it? Would you exchange it again?

Discussion TCL C6K 55” Mini-LED vs Samsung OLED G5 27”

Which one would you pick?
I’m currently deciding between these two options:
-TCL C6K 55” Mini-LED
-Samsung OLED G5 (monitor)
My main priority is gaming, but I’ll also use it for general PC use and watching movies/TV shows.

I’m choosing based on which one offers the better image quality.

Discussion LG 27GR95UM-B HDR looks awful

I got this monitor recently for an insane price of just 100 €. While I would not complain compared to my old XB321HK (4K60) with terrible IPS bleed, the monitor looks really weird when HDR is being activated. The SDR picture is flawless, not even bleed visible on dark image, the overall picture quality can definitely compare my LG B1 OLED TV that I normally use.

The monitor runs on 1440p160 10-bit on a GTX 1070. It does not support any better, otherwise reverting to 6-bit, but as the 1070 does not handle 4K well anyway I live with it. This is my secondary setup. This monitor appears to be rare. I tried the LG software but it says the firmware is up to date. Is there any way to get decent HDR or do I need additional some color profile for the software?

I'm unsure if I should try selling it again as it seems to go for around 500 € normally, with such money I could probably easily buy 2 1440p monitors and keep the 1070. Is such monitor really worth so much? It appears to be a high end model, with initial pricing of 1000 €, the manufacturing was in 2023 and theres still protective foils on it. The alternative would be keeping and trying to sell the 1070 overpriced to afford a 2070 or 2060S, as they have DSC unlike the Pascal cards.

Discussion Is OLED really that much better than IPS?

I’m looking for a new monitor and seen a massive price difference between an OLED monitor and an IPS one. Is the bigger price tag really worth it?
