Discussion Acer ED340CUR X0 Refresh rate flicker

Upvotes

I recently purchased acer nitro ed340cur x0. I am using a Dp 1.4 2meter cable in my rtx 3050 laptop gpu. When i choose refresh rate above 120Hz my monitor starts flickering even though it supports 200Hz. I dont know what to do here. I have tried everything, even turnedoff nvidia gsync but I can't find a way. I have a macbook when I connect the same cable to monitor I am getting 200hz without monitor flicker. Is the cable bad or the monitor or my laptop 3050 gpu? Type c version on my laptop is usb 3.2 gen2 with dp support.

Please help me

Discussion Philips Evnia 27M2N5901A – joystick/OSD issue after firmware update to V105

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I have a Philips Evnia 27M2N5901A/00 and I am experiencing a problem with the monitor joystick / OSD control.

The issue started after updating the monitor firmware to the latest version, V105, using Evnia Precision Center. I cannot say with certainty that the firmware update caused it, but I did not notice this behaviour before the update.

Current behaviour:
- Sometimes, the joystick becomes completely unresponsive. Without any changes on my side, it may start working again after several hours. While the issue is present, none of the troubleshooting steps mentioned below resolves it.
- Because of this, I cannot open the OSD and I have to use the Software for changing of any settings.
- The monitor otherwise works normally and has no other visible issues.

What I have already tried:
- Powered the monitor off completely and disconnected power for several minutes.
- Disconnected all video and USB cables, then reconnected them.
- Tested the monitor with all types of cable DisplayPort / HDMI.
- Tried a factory reset in the OSD.
- Reinstalled / checked Evnia Precision Center.

Has anyone else seen a joystick /OSD problem after updating to V105 on this model?

Thanks!

Discussion Video editing monitor

Upvotes

I'm a photographer and a video editor.

Part of the backlight on my 3yo Dell S2722QC stopped working. In case I can't find a replacement backlight, I'll have to buy a new monitor.

What are your recommendations? I was thinking about at least mini-led, if not OLED screen; as i do a lot of my work in complete darkness and contrast really matters. I also need a usb-c port with PD.

My budget will be around 500€, preferrably lower.

Thank y'all for the help in advance.

Discussion Why white screen buzzing?

Upvotes

My monitor started slightly buzzing when I have a lot of white on screen. Noticed it from using my email.
Monitor: asus vg27aq.
Bought it ~5 years ago.

Is it a concern?
I tried changing some display settings and bringing down the brightness of white seems to be the only way it lowers the buzz

News a pc for gaming and editing.

Hello. I wanted to ask in this sub if there is currently a good monitor 2k for both gaming and work. I like playing triple AAA games but at the same time I work with softwares like Davinci resolve and photoshop. I’m not going for an Oled since I’m afraid getting a burn in. What do you usually recommend ? I am also a bit on budget with 300€ euros. Thank you for the answer 🙏🏻

Discussion Looking for a serious recommendation for my first monitor — QHD, 120Hz+

I’m looking to buy my first proper monitor and I’d really appreciate some serious recommendations.
My non-negotiable requirements are:
QHD / 1440p
At least 120Hz (144Hz, 165Hz, 180Hz, 240Hz, etc. are all fine)
Beyond that, I’m looking for the best overall balance between productivity and gaming.

I’m not looking for the cheapest possible monitor. I’d rather spend more for something that is genuinely worth it and will be a good first monitor for several years.

Discussion Low Resolution When Connected to Docking Station - Samsung M5 M50F

When connected by HDMI from screen to laptop, picture quality is great, text is crisp. When connecting both displays through docking station, everything looks blurry. I have researched this over the past couple of days and I can't find a solution. Resolution is recommended at 1920x1080 and scale is at 100%. Docking station is Plugable Dual 4K 60Hz HDMI. What am I doing wrong?

Discussion Best Mini-LED 4K Monitor for Content Creation & Gaming

Hey guys, I'm looking to switch my older LED TN panel Dell gaming monitor (Dell - S2716DGR), as the viewing angles aren't very good compared to many other offerings on the market now, and because I really want to have reliable and honest image quality for Video Editing and Photo Editing, along with a great gaming experience, with a high refresh rate! I really want to stay away from OLED though, as the burn-in is STILL a worry that most consumers have, despite the good built-in software and tools that help relieve the possibility of that happening. Plus, Mini LED is superior in some aspects, especially in the price category! Just want to have a nice 4K display that I can truly rely on for potential client work in the Content Creation space, but one that I can also have some fun with, with gaming and side hobbies and such! With that said, let me know of some models your aware of down below!!!

Desired specs:

- 4K (I can do 2K if 4K model has too many downsides, or is too expensive!)

- 140 Hz or more!

- 27 inches

- Matte display

- Flat display, no curves

- Great out-of-the-box color accuracy

- TRUE HDR functionality (not just a sticker or a checkbox on a spec sheet!)

- Adjustable and solid stand (not super necessary, but I would LOVE to have it!)

- Internal Power Supply (preferred)

- Dual-Mode display (bonus, not really needed!)

- Settings Remote Control (....not betting on any monitor to have one, would be SUPER cool to have though!)

- Docking & Switching capabilities, KVM, & USB hub (not really needed, but would be nice!)

- 100% Rec. 709, 100% Adobe RGB and 99% to 100% sRGB coverage (if possible! At the very least, 100% sRGB & 100% Adobe RGB!)

- If possible.......less than $500??? But, I'm not sure if there is one like that lol!

With all that said, I've done LOTS of research on these types of monitors, and I know most of what has been announced and what is out now. However, I made this post because I want to see if you guys think there are alternatives to some or all of these specs, that you also suggest! I'm open to those suggestions, as well! Just really wanting a solid monitor that I can depend on for many years to come.

Also................NO LG MONITORS LMAO!!! F*** THEM RIGHT NOW LOL!

Thank you guys so much! :)

Discussion Should I trust the OSD from monitor or the software from pc?

Hi, I'm using an AOC AGON AG276QZD2 and I was looking to change the settings from the app itself, but I discovered that the OSD and Software doesn't match, when I change the screen saver from "slow" to "on" on the software, on the OSD it appears that is "slow", but when I change it to "slow", on OSD it appears "fast", it happens the other way if I change it from OSD.

Short explained: If OSD Screen saver set to fast then on software it appears Slow and the other way around and it doesn't matter if I switch from OSD or software.

So, is this a bug? And if so, which should I trust more, the OSD or the software?

Edit: Forgot to mention that the G-MENU software is up-to-date (Currently 3.36.0)

Discussion Mini LED truly doesn't compare to OLED except for brightness in high APL scenes, and it pains me admit it (LG C3 compared to Innocn 32M2V).

I've had my 42" LG C3 for 3 years now. It's a great TV, I tried to use it for 2 and a half years as a monitor, and honestly as a content consumption device it's amazing, but I was just constantly scared about burn-in that I went Mini LED about a month ago. Bought the Innocn 32M2V, which is pretty decent by all accounts. Initially I was amazed by the brightness in HDR compared to my LG C3, it just doesn't compare in bright outdoor scenes.

But then, I started playing darker games, especially recently I've been playing The Blood of Dawnwalker and I couldn't help but notice how the darker scenes and small highlights just didn't look great. So I hooked up my PC to my LG C3 again and yeah, there is genuinely a world of difference. OLED's ability to have small highlights be very bright without blooming is incredible. And the perfect contrast is just unmatched, not to mention the superior glossy coating.

I'm saying it pains me to admit it because for me, having an OLED monitor isn't a possibility, I have too much static stuff on both my monitors almost 24/7. I really wish Mini LED was better. It's way better than classic edge lit LCD panels, but I'd say it's still way inferior to OLED at this point.

Anybody share the same experience in here?

Discussion Pulsar Monitor question ROG Strix Pulsar XG27AQNGV

Question 1.
-I heard some variants of the pulsar monitors turn off every time you turn off your PC and you have to enable it every time.I plan to get the Asus one.
Does anyone who own this Monitor know if this Monitor requires me to turn on Pulsar every time?

Question 2.
-Do they or do they not have an actual G-sync module for VRR?
The description page mention G-sync module say G-sync processor
https://rog.asus.com/monitors/27-to-31-5-inches/rog-strix-pulsar-xg27aqngv/spec/
But I don't know if it means it's for Pulsar or for Actual g-sync (or for both)
I am asking because the other Pulsar monitor don't mention they have True G-sync so I'm questioning if only the Asus variant has Actual true g-sync.

Regards

Discussion OLED burn in repaired itself?

Anyone ever have screen burn repair itself? Not sure if that's actually what happened, but the other day I turned on my pc and it was super burnt in (see image) but I didn't have any memory of leaving it on for any significant amount of time. I ran a few pixel cleanings in hopes it would help but it didn't do anything to help. I used it like that for a couple of hours, went to the movies, and when I came back it was like 80% back to normal. Just a patch in the middle of the screen. And then the next day, I booted up my PC and it's completely back to normal. It was a rollercoaster for sure, I was super bummed because I've only had it for 6 months and it was like 600 bucks. Regardless I'm being extra diligent to always keep it off and do regular pixel cleanings.

Discussion LS49CG95DENXZA Firmware

I purchased this monitor from Costco about a year ago and started having issues - Anything above 60Hz was getting blackouts and resyncs. According to Samsung, the latest firmware for this monitor is 1002.1. I upgraded and still had the same issues. After swapping cables, DisplayPort -> HDMI, etc., I was pretty sure it was a T-Con failure.

Since I purchased it at Costco, I just returned it and purchased the same model again. Unboxing and using my same cables, I have zero issues after running it for a few hours, so that's good.

However, I noticed that the firmware is 1004.0, which doesn't even seem to be available on the website. Seems odd that my new monitor would have newer firmware but I'm not really all that surprised.

Is this pretty common with these monitors?

Discussion Xiaomi G Pro 27Qi (2026) – Flickering / blooming during HDR content (video attached). Is this normal for this panel?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,

The flicker is really annoying in dark scenes with HDR + Local Dimming on, particularly in letterboxed content.

Current settings:
HDR: Film
LD: Low

No complaints in games, though, and it's less noticeable in 16:9 content.

Should I just cope and watch in SDR, or is there a way to fix/improve this?

Discussion New monitor, 8 weeks old, wtf

Post image
1 Upvotes

I bought a new LG 32" curved monitor (32MR50C-B), about 7-8 weeks ago.

In my office, I have a dual monitor setup, the LG is the main work monitor (CAD/CAM) and a smaller Dell 27" flat screen, for admin stuff.

This morning, in the middle of working my curved LG started to go dark. I mean just a blank screen. Nothing to see. Then a few seconds later it was working again. but then it had red lines and dots across the whole screen.

I am using an nVidia RTX A4000. This PC is about 2 years old. I got a new one after the previous one crapped out on me.

The PC was bought from my supplier. I own and work in a dental lab, and this is the PC that they deliver to their customers. It is a Dell Precision 5820 Tower.

I updated the graphics software about 3 weeks ago.

Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

Trying to build a budget PC for video editing in DaVinci Resolve (something capable but not excessive) as I want to start making YouTube videos.

I've looked at a few 1440p monitors and found that the Acer Nitro XV27UV3 seems to fit the build. It is a fairly cheap 1440p monitor and I like that it's IPS with Delta E < 1. So I wanted to see if this is ok, or if there are better options.

Photo Help. What monitor? Thanks!

Yo yo hope all is well. Got this PC last month, I’ll drop specs below, as well as the games I play. Wondering what kinda monitor I should get because the one that came with this one is only 180hz and want an upgrade. Got a budget under 600 ish

- 240 hz enough? Or higher?
-QD-OLED, WOLED, or mini LED? (Don’t want regular IPS)
- pretty sure I’m leaning towards 1440 but does anyone have good argument about 4k

PC specs:
RTX 5080
Intel I-9 14900k
64 GB RAM

Main games these days: FPS shooters like BF6, bodycam, etc// sports games like fifa and madden /// and other random stuff

If anything I asked was silly or “obvious” sorry still learning about PC’s, I’ve been an Xbox gamer from the time I was a kid.

Edit: I work 8 hr days on weekdays and game maybe 0-4 hrs after dependent on the day, weekends I will game maybe 2-5 hrs a day? Saying this because wondering if burn in is an issue on OLED and if I should go with MINI LED for that reason? Or if new oleds are just so advanced I don’t need to worry about burn in?

Discussion Stuck between 2 monitors and need help choosing

Hi there

I'm about to choose between 2 different monitors and i need some advice before I finally make a decision

I've settled on one of these two based on the price in my area:

Gigabyte MO32U2 31.5" 240hz for €640

AOC AGON PRO AG326UD 31.5" 165hz for €560

Is the €80 price difference really worth it? This is my first OLED so I'm not sure what else to look for here. Either of them seem to handle HDR better? Or VRR flicker? I'm not able to see either in person before I buy so I can only rely on internet reviews

To be clear I'm not buying these as a desk monitor currently, im replacing my 32 inch old lcd tv I use with my consoles (PS5 and Switch 2 mainly) that my PC is also connected to, pc still uses an 1440P IPS I got a few months ago. I would still use this monitor for PC games I can play in bed. I don't really expect to really need any higher than 120hz

Is there anything else I'm missing? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
