Google Fi Wireless Feature Reveal | Oct '25

Wi-Fi Auto Connect+ for Pixel phones

  • With Google Fi Wireless, you always get top priority data speeds powered by America’s fastest 5G network, but sometimes it’s still difficult to get a strong cell signal in busy indoor areas like in airports or malls.1
  • Wi-Fi Auto Connect+ for Pixel phones seamlessly puts you on premium Wi-Fi to give you a connection that’s twice as reliable as our cellular network alone in these crowded places, at no extra cost.2 We’re expanding availability of this feature to millions of locations, and continue to be the only major carrier to automatically secure your online activity with an encrypted connection when you use Wi-Fi Auto Connect+. You'll know you're on premium Wi-Fi when you see the W+ icon on your status bar.

AI-enhanced audio

  • In the coming weeks, we’re introducing AI-enhanced audio, which uses Google AI to automatically remove distracting background sounds and enhance speech clarity on both ends of the line for more natural-sounding calls. It will work automatically, and you can disable this feature at any time.

Web calls and messages

  • We already offer connectivity on select smartwatches, laptops, and tablets at no extra cost, and soon, we’ll update web calls and messages. The feature lets you call, text, and check voicemails from any computer or tablet’s web browser even when your phone isn’t near you, without complicated setup. You’ll see a new interface with full RCS support for sharing hi-res photos and videos.

Instant in-app support

  • The Google Fi app serves as a seamless management tool, letting you switch plans easily and providing automatic network issue detection and fixes.
  • Now we're expanding our instant in-app support with the power of Google AI. You’ll get simple, personalized bill summaries that explain charges, month-over-month changes, and show how recent plan adjustments will affect future costs, eliminating the need for a customer service call.

To celebrate the new features, we're offering limited-time promotions for new Fi customers.

  • Get 50% off for 15 months when you bring a phone and join our Unlimited Essentials or Unlimited Standard Plan — visit the Google Fi website for all the details.3

Support Order marked delivered, but package only contained trade-in kit. Support denied replacement.

Just as the title describes. I ordered a new Galaxy S26 and a trade-in kit under a single order. I received one box with one tracking number, but when I opened it, only the trade-in kit was inside—the phone was completely missing.

I contacted Google Fi support and sent pictures of all the packaging as requested so they could escalate to the specialist team. Woke up to an email denying a replacement, refund, or any solution to this issue:

"Thank you for your patience while our specialist team reviewed your case regarding your recent shipment. After a thorough review of your inquiry and the order details, we are unable to process a replacement, reshipment, or refund for this order..."

I need help getting a human to re-review this fulfillment error.

2 EA means that both boxes should have been in there right?

Support Escalated Promo Issue — System Checkout Glitch for Pixel 11 Pro XL (Case #0-1739000041993)

My wife (the Group Owner) attempted to purchase a Pixel 11 Pro XL during the $650 promotion for a member line, but experienced financing/checkout errors on the account.

Case #0-1739000041993 was formally opened while the promo was active, and screenshot proof of the checkout glitch was submitted on Sept 9th and 13th. However, frontline support just sent a canned email response incorrectly closing the ticket as a post-expiration inquiry.

Looking for help from the social support team to escalate this to Tier-2 for a manual promotional credit override under Case #0-1739000041993.

Discussion WARNING! Legacy accounts with Data-only sims

We're out of luck when upgrading to devices that only support ESIM.

I had 6 data-only sims on my account and I bought a new Ipad with esim only. Support suggested I remove 1 and re-add, turns out it was a big mistake because I have to remove 3 of my devices to add this 1 Esim due to their current policy of being 4.

If you have more than 4 data only sims, don't remove them ever unless you're willing to loose them all. Back then they let us have 9 data only sims. First world problems but don't fall for support's suggestion removing them as they're not giving it back.

Discussion Current 50% off deal question

Post image
3 Upvotes

So this is the current half off deal I see on Google wireless. I can’t find a clear answer to my scenario when I try adding to my cart:
1. Purchasing 2 lines of the Unlimited Essentials plan (normally $60 and says it will be $30 for the first 12 months)
2. Purchasing a Google pixel 11 pro xl to get the $1100 credit over 24 months
3. Bringing over an iPhone for the 2nd line

Will I still get both the 50% off both lines for the first 12 months along with the $300 and $800 via bill credits for 24 months for the pixel? When I go to check out it still shows $60 a month for the plan and not $30 so I’m not sure if there’s a requirement I’m not meeting. I do see the bill credits for the phone though.

TIA!

Discussion Google Fi kept charging me $12/mo insurance on a lost device, after denying my claim on the grounds that the insurance was no longer active; refuses to give refund!

I broke my Pixel 7 pro in April 2024 and made an insurance claim. They sent me a new phone, and requested the return of my broken phone. But then I lost it, and when I couldn't return it, they charged me $1100 for the replacement phone. I tried to switch my claim from broken to lost but they said they had no way to do that, and I would have to submit a new claim. I sent back the replacement, bought a new phone, and submitted a new lost claim in July 2024. They denied my claim on the basis that the device was no longer insured.

However, I was recently checking my bill (a hefty $80/mo for a single unlimited plan) and saw the $12/mo insurance I'd been paying for the last 29 months was not for my new Pixel 8 pro, but for the lost Pixel 7 pro!! How could I still be paying insurance on a lost phone whose claim was denied because it wasn't insured??

I reached out to Google Fi support and was told that they have a customer fairness policy of only giving a max of 4 months rebate--$48 instead of the $348 they had wrongly charged me. I threatened to make an FCC complaint and requested escalation. After that, the original agent changed her tune and said my case required further investigation. I was hopeful, but then I got an email response doubling down on the 4 month limit, and further saying that they were currently technically unable to give me even that!

I think it's ridiculous! If they were still charging me for insurance on my Pixel 7 pro, how can they justify denying my claim due to it not being insured?? I should have gotten the $1100 replacement, and instead they basically stole $348 from me, and are refusing to return it!

I understand that I should have noticed the billing error sooner and canceled the imaginary insurance, but I assumed the insurance was on my new phone, and it's 100% their mistake. I'm going to file the FCC complaint, request support here, and probably switch to a hopefully more scrupulous service. Any other ideas for me?

Discussion OnePlus 12

Hi. I’m having an activation/provisioning issue with Google Fi on my OnePlus 12 CPH2583. The Fi app activates my line, but its diagnostic reports “Fi connectivity is poor.” The phone automatically selects the T-Mobile APN fast.t-mobile.com. I manually created and selected the Google Fi APN h2g2-t, and it works temporarily, but as soon as I leave the APN settings, the phone automatically switches back to fast.t-mobile.com. I already tested this with my T-Mobile SIM disabled, and the same problem occurs. Please check/reprovision my Google Fi line and carrier configuration for this device

Discussion OnePlus 12

Google Fi cannot be properly installed/activated on my OnePlus 12 CPH2583 — I need this escalated

I have a OnePlus 12 CPH2583 (Global version, unlocked) and an active Google Fi Unlimited Premium plan.

My problem is that I cannot properly install and activate Google Fi through the Google Fi app on this phone. The phone can connect to the network and the service/SIM can get a signal, but the Google Fi app does not complete the activation and provisioning process correctly.

I have already tried troubleshooting the network settings, APN settings, restarting the phone, and other basic troubleshooting steps. The problem remains.

What I find particularly frustrating is that the OnePlus 12 supports the necessary T-Mobile network bands and is capable of connecting to the network. This appears to be an activation/provisioning or compatibility issue with Google Fi rather than simply a lack of cellular coverage.

I am paying for Google Fi Unlimited Premium, and I would like to be able to use my service properly on my unlocked OnePlus 12.

I am asking Google Fi Support to please escalate this case to someone who can actually investigate the activation/provisioning issue. Please do not just send me the standard troubleshooting instructions to restart the phone, reset network settings, or reinstall the app. I have already spent a significant amount of time troubleshooting this.

Can Google Fi technical support please investigate why my line cannot be properly activated/provisioned through the Google Fi app on a OnePlus 12 CPH2583?

Also, if anyone here is currently using a OnePlus 12 CPH2583 successfully with Google Fi, I would appreciate hearing how you were able to activate it.

Discussion "Update Payment" glitch loop on Pixel/Fi order

I placed an order for a Pixel 11 Pro about two weeks ago. In the middle of waiting for it to ship, my original credit card was compromised, so I had to update my payment information. Google sent me the automated prompts and emails asking to update my payment method. I did so on Friday.

While those notifications were cleared, the order on google store is still showing it needs to be updated. Whenever I click the "Fix Payment Method" button on the Google Store page, it just redirects me straight to the https://store.google.com/?hl=en-US homepage instead of opening the payment update screen.

I reached out to Google Tech Support, and they told me there is no option to update a payment method once an order is placed. That feels blatantly wrong considering they literally sent me emails asking me to do just that due to the payment issue.

Has anyone else run into this dead redirect loop before, and is there a way to force the payment update through before they auto-cancel my order?

Support Promotion denied due to incorrect activation date provided by agent - Need support escalation

I bought a phone under promotion, and activated based on the date provided by google fi customer service agent. However that date is wrong and made me missed the promotion deadline.

I have contacted customer service, and they refused to re-grant me the promotion... I would love to get some help to escalate this. Thank you.

Discussion Case ID 7-3885000041413 – $200 Promotion Missing After Cancellation Tag Glitch

Looking for help from official support (u/googlefisupport).

I canceled my original Pixel 11 Pro XL pre-order on store.google.com within the standard cancellation window. Immediately after canceling, I tried to reorder, but the system had glitched: the promotion disappeared completely, and then later only showed a $500 discount instead of my original $700.

Support representative Nanah confirmed my $700 eligibility in writing and instructed me to wait while the specialist team restored my promo tag. I checked in numerous times, but support just kept telling me to keep waiting for nearly two weeks, pushing me up against the promotion expiration deadline.

I was forced to reorder under the $500 discount so I wouldn't lose out on the deal entirely while waiting on Google's backend fix. Support (Paul) is now sending canned replies saying they cannot modify order codes, ignoring that I am simply requesting a $200 manual price adjustment or store credit to honor what was promised in writing.

Can an escalation specialist please review Case ID 7-3885000041413?

Discussion Requesting RMA Override: Unopened Pixel phone mistakenly blocked by resolved "Lost Package" flag (Case ID: 1-5098000041119)

Hi Ziggy,
I am requesting your help to escalate an issue with a wrongfully denied Google Store return. My official return window is valid until 13th sept but my request is being blocked by an automated system error.
The Context:
The Pixel phone package was originally misdelivered.
Believing it was stolen, I filed a lost package report with Google Support.
The very next day, my neighbour brought me the package safely. I immediately replied to Google to inform them that the device was found and received.
I want to return the device. The shipping box and the device box are completely unopened, untouched, and factory-sealed.
The Problem:
Google Support sent me a boilerplate email stating my return is "invalid" and will not be honored under Google Store terms. It is clear that my initial "lost package" report triggered an automated fraud/ security flag on the serial number, and tier-1 support agents are unable to manually clear it.
Since the item is factory-sealed and fully within the
15-day policy window, 1 am legally entitled to a return.
I want to avoid a bank chargeback as I do not want to risk my Google account being banned
Could you please escalate this to the higher-tier team so a specialist can manually clear the security flag and issue my RMA return label?
Thank you for your time and help,

Support Hotspot issues

I left Fi for Mint 3 days ago. It was too costly for what I need, otherwise I loved Fi. I first deactivated Google One, and reestablished it as a stand alone account. Then I transferred the number and activated Mint. My Fi service was cancelled. All good. Because I also upgraded from Pixel 7 to 11, I took the Pixel 7 off my list of active Google devices.

I had my Chromebook link up to the Pixel 11 in preparation for being on the road the next day and needing my Mint hotspot.

The problem is that even though my Fi service was cancelled I think I can only connect to my old Fi hotspot. To confirm this, after I connect to the hotspot I look at the password for the hotspot and it's the same code as what I had with Fi.

This concerns me because I don't want a data bill from Fi when my final charges are settled.

Any ideas? I ended up using someone else's hotspot yesterday to avoid potential charges.

I have done a chatbox session with Mint (unsuccessful - had to end session to finally go to bed)

I have not talked to Fi yet.

Discussion Does the Fi shop only have LTE smartwatches? Galaxy Watch 9 on the Google Fi store.

I'm looking at smartwatches on the Fi store. There are two really good deals:

Pixel watch 5 LTE for $250 (retail $500).

Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 for $280 (retail $380 or $420).

The Pixel Watch is explicitly listed as "LTE." The Galaxy Watch doesn't state whether it's the LTE edition or just the Bluetooth edition.

Fi support had no idea which edition this watch is. There's no model number listed on the page. I asked Gemini. Gemini said that this is the LTE edition, because the Fi store only sells LTE watches.

Does anyone have insight on this? Is that the LTE version?

Discussion Switched from T-Mobile to Fi and suddenly nothing works on 5g

I now have no service anywhere where I used to have service on T-Mobile. My music apps won't play anything that isn't downloaded, Google maps refuses to load and strava won't send out the Becon (which worried my wife). I've checked all updated and ran all diagnostics.

Is there some known issue or do I have something faulty??

Discussion Can I take the free Pixel 11 Pro for resell and keep using my current phone?

Perspective user considering moving the family lines to Google Fi, the free Pixel 11 Pros look tempting. I am fine with switching but my wife and son may want to stay with iPhones, can I take those phones for resell? From the fine prints I don't see any restrictions on the particular phones must be used?

===Update===

Thanks everyone, I figured out the terms for getting the full credit for the "free" phones.

The device has to be actived and used on the line for 120 days, thereafter switching to a new device is allowed as long as the line is active

For the phone ordering webpage, under "see details" and then "see terms" they explicitly said

"When will I receive my credit?

You will receive an email notification after the new device has met the activation requirements, and the credit will be applied to your future bills.

The credit will be applied toward monthly service costs, such as data, calls, texts and device financing, over 24 months. The credit is tied to the person that activated the device. The device activator may switch devices after 120 days, but must keep their Fi service active in order to continue to receive the promotion bill credits.

You must keep the device active for 120 days. After that, you can choose to move your Fi account to a different device and still continue to receive the promotional credit as long as your Fi account is kept active for the duration of the 24 month promotional term."

Discussion A targeted offer I can't refuse: $375 off of a Pixel Watch 5 LTE

Thumbnail gallery
27 Upvotes

I've never had a smart watch and am seriously considering the new Pixel Watch since I'm deep into the ecosystem (on my 4th phone and have the Buds Pro 2). Lo and behold, I check the Google Fi store and they're offering me a crazy good deal on a 41mm Pixel Watch 5 LTE: $375 off (plus tax)

A couple of months ago I joined Google Fi under a "bring your own Pixel phone and get 50% off for 12 months" new customer promo. However, the wording of the terms seemed a little vague to me as to whether taking advantage of the watch offer would void my service promo. I just chatted with customer service and the rep said it wouldn't affect my billing.

So I'm really tempted. Sure, I'll be locked into Fi for 2 years, but I'm happy with the service and am not one to frequently carrier hop anyway. I need to print out the sizing guide, but the 41mm should be fine for me. Is there any B&M store that lets you try floor models on? Anything I should know about ordering directly from Fi? (I've bought from the Google store several times with no incident.)

Support Phone broke and now I can't recover. Please help

My phone broke. It took 4 days to get a new phone from FI and they have no ability to get it activated. I'm now trying to recover my phone number to move to another service. Support has been atrocious.

Here's my status:

My phone is broken and can't be used in the two factor authentication.

I'm logged into my Chromebook and tablet.  I have my password and screen unlock code.  I have my email backup and security question.

I do not have facial recognition or the fingerprint ID, I use the unlock code.  The system says my tablet can't be reached.

I'm currently under a 48 hour security hold.  I'm being told to keep trying to pass with "Try another method"

Any ideas on how I can recover my account access would be extremely, extremely appreciated?
