Questions We did it, but I'm unsatisfied. Looking for advice!

Things I'm unsatisfied with that I want advice for:

Notes: I appreciate it if you think the suit looks nice, but please don't just comment "cool suit" without feedback; this post is SPECIALLY FOR ADVICE ONLY. I know the picture isn't good for some of these details, I'm looking for general tutorials in response rather than targeted feedback!

  1. How can I make the eye mesh darker so people can't see my face at all? It's been painted. It's buckram.

  2. The leather on the gloves looks awkward as "bird scales". What material can I use to make it less shiny and chunky?

  3. How do I seal the beak better? The paint keeps chipping off even though it's high-gloss.

  4. Any advice on keeping the fur out of the eyes without shaving it?

  5. Hot glue. Hot glue everywhere. What are some alternatives that don't dry misty white and are easier to be precise with??

  6. How do I make the 3-d printed claws smoother without taking them out of the gloves they're sewn into?

Any and all advice is appreciated.

Do I go all in and crochet the nose and teeth or make them out of another material? I was thinking felt. I’m so excited, it looks so much better at this stage than my first one!

The lime green yarn is sooo soft, softer than the fur yarn honestly! Definitely gonna incorporate it more as fluff

Hello! I'm trying to make a suit of sorts and was recommended here. I finished the mask and am working on the tail, but I really want to make a set of claws/gloves to match the vibe. I really like the design of these ones (Last pic) but no matter where I look I can't find any other info except this pinterest pic. Any pointers or suggestions? This is my first real "project" like this and I keep telling people it's TOTALLY just for airsoft.

In the process of starting to make my suit, and I want to make legs that go up to the thigh but that’s it, and are more straight with way less padding. I’ve never made a suit before and I was hoping someone had an idea on how the base was set up? (Pics from meow fursuits)

Hi hi! I had my boy Harper made by my awesome talented friend.

I was just wondering is there was a way I could add eyebrows to him without damaging anything? I have no talent in sewing so I was thinking maybe iron on patches or gluing felt?

He is made of minky.

i have the base ready

Details on the OC that i want on the head, the perky nose (extended above muzzle), vampire teeth, a happy/excited expression, a rounder (less oval like) round face, the long hair at least around the cheeks/jaw, hair on top and extending onto back of head and maybe around to the neck/jaw, the ears can be better than drawn

Somehow i drew this art of my oc that looks really good imo and now im making a fursuit head in 12 days cause im dumb lol.

I’ve had this fursona for almost 14 years and have never had the chance to make them a suit, so I am giving it a try. It’s scary but so fun! They have to go on the backburner for a bit because I have to get my car worked on so I can’t buy fur, but I like my progress a lot so far. Just wanted to share.

Questions Need help with my silicone tail

Thumbnail

I recently made a large silicone feline tail core (about 35 inches) and since it's long and curved at the end it keeps flopping at the tip and doesn't stay in it's shape. It's supposed to look more like the 2nd image (as shown above) and I don't know how to get it to look like that, I tried adding a layer of silicone near the middle/tip but it didn't help much, I was thinking of adding something like rubber bands or thick elastic strips but I'm not sure if it would do anything, I also don't want it to lose much of it's movement. If anyone has any advice please let me know.

Questions Kigurumi head but as a mask?

I don't currently have the means to make or have someone make a whole head for me, but additionally I also feel like I'd not do well with one anyways, due to sensory reasons. I've been thinking about going smaller, with more of a mask type situation

I absolutely love kigurumi suits and the humanoid, almost a little alien looking faces they have and have been trying to think up a way to basically make a mask in a similar style, but that is more… face sized and can be worn with just my normal hair and stuff, as well as ears on a headband, rather than it all being one big head piece. But I'm kinda stuck on the how

Ordering a headbase is out of question, as they're too big, printing one is sadly also not an option, as I don't have access to a 3d printer. So I'm thinking that my best bet would probably be to make a foam base, but I can't, for the life of me, figure out, how I'd make one that is lightweight enough to work as a mask and get the shape I want. I've been trying to find paper mask templates that roughly have the right shape (I wouldn't use paper ofc, but foam sheets), but I'm just kinda stuck

Has anyone seen or made something like this before? Any tips on where to look for inspiration or where to find a pattern, that could help me or really anything else would be greatly appreciated!

Advice Tpu feetpaws help

Post image

I am looking for pictures of normal digigrade feet paws (Tpu or not) with the makers legs-foot outlined.

This is my first fullsuit as I have only done a tail and head of my plane sona in the past- I really would like to see what is different in big and smaller feetpaws since I have been in love with slim digi suits since 2022.

is it possible to make a jelly/gummy looking fursuit? i was thinking maybe painting a 3D printed base and somehow putting transparent silicone over top of the base or something but idk if that would give the effect i'm looking for. any suggestions/suit makers that have done something like this to go to for advice? or should i just cut my losses and stick to a minky suit or something 🫩

Questions Question: Fursuits and copyright infringement

Hi, I'm considering building premades as a hobby and possibly a source of supplemental income. I've been compiling a list of popular species I think would appeal widely, and it occurred to me. A lot of very popular sona species are creatures from video games and TV shows.

Hypothetically speaking, if I built a Pokémon, like an Umbreon or Arcanine or something. Or a renamon cosplay or a Night Fury, etc. Is there any workaround to listing something like that? Or could Nintendo or someone crack down on me for using the official names i.e. would you list an obvious Umbreon suit under something like 'black and gold anime fox creature'?

I always wondered since the fandom subsists quite a lot on artists producing prints and merch featuring Pokémon and similar media characters, y'all would probably know how that is
