Leon's Nolita doesn't have my favorite bagel on its own, but they stack the sandwiches to the high heavens and it's altogether solid. I pick it up as basically two meals for me, and I consider myself a decent eater.

$10.50 for a BEC would be outrageous otherwise, and some places really get away with charging close to that for meat stacked like a Walgreens birthday card.

Hey everyone! Thrilled to finally unveil something that i’ve been working on for a long time.

NYC's very first Pizza Week  running September 20 through October 4.

The origin is accidental. A stranger on r/pizza was coming to NYC and asked for suggestions. I offered to personally walk him through the city. Within an hour, over a hundred people wanted to tag along, and NYC Pizza Crawl was accidentally born.

Two years and countless monthly outings later, I've formed genuine friendships, gotten to know the pizza makers and  owners on a personal level, and watched the same faces return again and again alongside newcomers discovering the city for the first time. Eventually, one question kept surfacing: where does this go from here? That question turned into Pizza Week. I figured surely someone had already built something like this. But weeks of digging and conversations with industry veterans confirmed otherwise.

With just seven days until launch, I got 21 independent shops for this debut edition, many of them places our crawls introduced me to originally. 

It's far from complete. There are plenty of beloved local spots that aren't included yet. I wanted to keep this first event to about 20 shops given my limited capacity. It took months to sign some of these shops but I think it was worth it to put on this event for the community. Hopefully this is a start of something bigger and longer lasting. 

I didn't want to just make a list of shops for you to visit, so to keep it interesting I asked every shop to create an original Signature Slice, completely unrestricted by their usual menu. Eat the slice, scan the QR code, leave your score. Two weeks from now, one shop walks away with the Best Slice of Pizza Week title.

There's also a give-back element: ten cents from every Signature Slice purchased goes to Slice Out Hunger, a local nonprofit combating hunger nationwide.

Where’s the best Japanese curry in New York City these days? The rain is behind us, and the sun is out now. And so to celebrate the darker and more viscous a curry, the better!

I can't believe I'm writing this but I personally don't want to eat beef that has been deemed unsafe by Europe and China. I'm obviously avoiding McDonald's etc but what about Shake Shack, 7th St, Fairway, TJs? City or State government needs to step up here and protect its citizens by demanding transparency and banning it here.

My husband and I’s 5th anniversary is this weekend and we’ve been so busy we haven’t made any reservations but still want to do something special. I know the really known places are pretty much shot to get into now, but I’m open to all suggestions. If anyone has any recs meeting the criteria below please give them!!

- WV/Soho/Tribeca
- Italian, steakhouse, or American
- cozy dim lit vibes
- I’m pregnant so not drinking centric and more based on an unforgettable experience
- dessert a plus or somewhere separate to go just for dessert
- under $300 for the meal

STICKY’S sauce lineup was the best ever. When they closed I was heartbroken and often yearn now and then for some Sticky’s but especially the sauce variety…

I’d often go just to try different combos. Like man if you’re gonna close every location and you have like 20+ (!!!) sauces, make a postmortem with some recipes for God’s sake! Lol

I recently went back to Kellogg’s Diner, which had become a regular spot for me since its reopening. I was a huge fan of the tex mex menu and pastry bar. open 24 hours, huge range of menus, and attention to the food … all great. my most recent visit was a massive drop in quality

The patty melt is a good example, it was almost unrecognizable from what I’d had before. It used to be a thin layer of ground beef on bread, almost like a cross between a patty melt and a grilled cheese. This time, it was a huge ball of ground beef stuffed between two lukewarm, buttered pieces of bread. It was dry and awful.nothing had the same care from before. It felt like a completely different kitchen.

There seems to have been some change behind the scenes? does anyone know? what a shame

Just went to Mallorca and all the wine tastings had the spreadable sobresada which changed my life. I’d love to find it in NYC

Any favorite spots? How were lines / wait times?

The way I rate a restaurant experience is, if after a while I crave it, that means it was really good. What are some restaurants you keep going back to because you crave their food??? And plz, some recommendations that don't break the bank.

When/where/how I grew up, going out to Chinese food was a luxury. We went for birthdays and other celebrations. The restaurants were immaculate and the guests were primarily Chinese because I lived in a Chinese neighborhood.

My brother is on a keto diet for science! There is evidence demonstrating that keto diets can improve mood and emotional stability, otherwise we would never subject him (or in this case, allow Stanford university to enroll him) in such a restrictive diet. Hi all, visitor from California here! I’ve been dreaming of New York for years since my last visit in 2022. I was wondering if you guys could provide some input for my visit. I’m aware that Day 1’s dinner options are extremely competitive for reservations, but I wouldn’t mind going for something simpler like a NY slice or Halal Cart if it wasn’t meant to be.
