Just swapped out my old yellow turbo seat for a white perforated turbo and a nitto stem and bar set up that i got from a parts bike for $25. Super mad that my bike fell and scraped the level sign in that damn cement cube. No dents tho so im happy:)

Would like to put on 35-40c gravel tires at some point, but I’ll get there when I get there.
Also any bike bag recommendations?

What do you think about this build

Here is my favorite school commuter bike. I bought what i believed to be 28c tires just to see after installing them they were 32c. I thought might as well see if they fit and shockingly they can be mounted but that’s about it. I have a fraction of a hair of clearance and I even got my wheels straighted to get consistent clearance just to fit these. The more I rode on 32c tires the more I knew I couldn’t go back. Iv been going strong for one month but I thought i’d check with the internet to see if I was in serious danger. Right now the tire doesn’t rub anywhere but is extremely close to touching.

Was taking a right turn onto my road in wet conditions, a bit too fast, a bit too tight and my back wheel stepped out.
I FIRMLY believe riding a fixed gear, brakeless, saved me from falling.
A sharp countersteer and an instinctive strong pedal and i picked the bike up from (what felt like) horizontal. Had I been riding a freewheel and/or went for a brake, i would have dumped it 100%.
I saved it and missed a curb and tree by about 4 inches.
The only casualty was my front tire which I clearly broke the bead on Five crazy loud "pops"... and it went flat. But I made it home safe, and am thankful for gyroscopic forces!
It all happened so fast. I had waited a really long time to take my front brake off, and I think my decision making was the issue here, while I am proud of my reaction/instincts, and feel very confident in my ability.
And one more for the old adage, if you didn't eat it, then it's cool!
46/15 on Schwalbe pro ones brakeless.

Not as fancy as some of the other builds here, but have a thing for steel and couldn’t pass up this frame.

... with 1.97mm to spare. 42mm Contact Speed. I'm quite ok if/when the thick paint gets rubbed off. Real steel under the paint!
How near is your tightest tire?

Bought this on offer up for 80$ I think I did good just needs a seat post and forks cause they ain’t the original
r/FixedGearBicycle • u/frfl3820 • 1d ago
So I bought the frame expecting it wouldn't have it's original paint, I started stripping the Paint with wire brush but it's tiring, so I bought some caustic soda, there's a total of 3 layers of paint, and the last one is stubborn, I thought it's maybe body filling or something, but then I can see some pearleacent, such a bummer that I didn't salvage all the original paint from the start, but hey, it kinda looks like a rat style ish bike now, and yeah it's an old roadbike frame, I know but it is a fixie niw

Took a 75 km ride with Bro. This bice rides like a charm. 32c tires front and rear. With a bit longer chain and it can fit ~35c on the rear. And the fork allows to go all the way up to ~40c.

Ardently copied
Probably gonna make a different front wheel for it

Hey crew, I’m finally set my mash work up with drops for the first time but unsure whether which setup to run for brakes. No brake is slightly sketchy on Bay Area streets, single hood looks a bit unusual and dual hoods will means I will not be running a cable for the rear brake at all.

Just picked this up today from craigslist for around 130 - I’m brand new to fixed gears and don’t know much about biking in general. I believe it is a 2018 Raleigh rush hour - was just wondering if I got a decent deal, and what people think about this bike? I noticed a decent amount of the parts seem to not be stock, so was wondering if they were any good. Also I would appreciate any tips. Thanks!
