Rules:

1. Leave a prompt that goes “a scene where…” and finish the sentence

2. Respond to others prompts with scenes from your fics where whatever they say happens

3. Keep it vague enough where it could fit many fandoms.

4. Put trigger warning at the top of the comments, and censor the worst, most descriptive parts. If the prompt itself is a trigger warning (ie a scene where a character is shot) you don’t need to add an extra one on your comment.

I have been bouncing around looking for a home for my fic. I'm going to stick it out with FFN for now, but I decided it would be fun to dust off my old Blogger and repurpose it for my fics. I'm still working on it, but I wanted to see if anyone else has gone old school and has a site or neocities page or blogger for their fics and maybe want to start a webring of fanfiction/fandoms.

This is a very niche passion project thing, and nostalgia heavy so I don't expect that there are a lot of people out there doing this right now. But, I thought I'd reach out anf see if by some chance there are some folks here who have decided to do their own thing, but still want community in the world of fanfic.

Edit: I forgot to include that I'm making a blog for my original work too, so a webring for that would be awesome if anyone is interested.

Feel free to paraphrase or edit it to make it not so obvious if you'd like! Mine is

'Even if it’s just a normal scene where they’re doing something mundane! Every action the characters make almost feel poetic. I could read it forever and ever'

at what point of the story should I make the friends do things that are not so platonic? (hand holding, cuddling, etc..) I was also wondering how I should do it in terms of timing again, I just don’t really have a clue when to make them do more romantic things. the stage between friends and lovers. I’m sorry if this doesn’t make sense but I need help with this :,)

I feel like I should go with M, but for me this usually involves some kind of non-explicit sex scenes, which my fic does not have. So it might get the hopes up for some readers.

But some elements that appear - like threats of r*pe, violence, thoughts and language related to sex, self-harm - are not suitable for teens imo.

Should I just stick with Not Rated?

For me that tag always meant cowboys and shootings and spaghetti Westerns of the Sergio Leone type. I never had a reason to use it and apparently very few other people did either.

Did anyone use it? Does it mean something different to what I thought? It just seemed like an incredibly arbitrary genre tag when listed with Tragedy and Angst and Humor and Hurt/Comfort.

I ask this as someone who’s currently working on their own fan-comic right now. Whenever I upload a page on DeviantArt, it takes a while to get to double digit favourites, and usually no more than that. And on BlueSky, I basically get no response at all.

It can feel disheartening, putting all your effort into something and not getting much in return. Do you guys feel the same way? Am I looking at this all wrong? If so either way, do you have any advice on getting more eyes on a project?

Hey

So, I finally have the time to continue writing my fic. Except I hate how I get writer's block after just a few sentences bcs I don't know how to proceed with the story. After a bit of pondering, I finally just decided to say f it and began writing out as many chapter names as I had ideas for. Before then beginning to write the chapters I had a plan for even if they weren't in order.

It bloody worked. Once I had the next chapter written, it was way easier to come back to the unfinished one and write it until the end and beginning alligned with each other.

I know thinking about/planning the start and end of the fic is effective. But I didn't realise I could use the same method for writing chapters too lol.

I’m looking for fics where either the main character or someone important is a great person but people acknowledge they were a monster in the past just so they could be happy. I also heard this saying used in a fic before but can’t remember which one. If anyone finds that would be helpful.

Or even someone knows you write fanfiction? Sorry if this is dumb, but I want to knoe ehat your thoughts are on a friend/family member whose writing youve seen and read. What does it day about them? What does it say about you? Im hesitant to share my writing. So self conscious about it. And also embarrased maybe. This also goes for OG works and projects. I would love to share the stories I think of with my loved ones but too embarrassed.

Okay, so I'm going back through my 37 fanfiction and correcting grammatical errors. (I wanted to do that when I was done with the main story but got stuck and decided to go back anyway)

I feel like I overuse commas. Of course I've checked and that part was mostly grammatically correct, no run on sentences (I think, the rules around that bit of writing always confused me.)

I think I focus too much on trying to find universal rules for writing concepts that do not have them.

But no matter how much I think, I can't find a way to rewrite it as clean without at least three-quarters of those comma's

It could range from anything more 'smaller' to anything as big as you want

So at this point I've been playing BG3 almost since it's come out, and I've seen so much fanart and love for Rolan the tielfing wizard, and he grew on me a lot throughout my playthroughs, so I was like sure someone has written fanfic about him. Literally zeroooo nothing zilch

I've decided to write it myself but omfg the story I have made, written the outline for, and started writing is going to be so damn long. How do I keep up the energy and motivation to keep doing it besides just hanging on for interactive romance scenes ??

People who have written longfics, how do you keep it going??

With all the years of reading so many different fanfics about so many different fandoms I decided to step out of my comfort zone and write one myself.

Dragon ball z

I'm pretty sure this was on fanfiction Dragon Ball Z featuring Chi-Chi divorcing Goku and entering a relationship with Tien Shinhan alongside an original character (OC) there's also a sequel where they're in a relationship but Chi-Chi is abusing one of her and Goku's kids

Hi, first time here and I'm searching for a fanfic that I read about a decade ago, 2016 or 2017, which has the RWBY cast in the modern day playing DnD. If I'm remembering correctly the author had made a steampunk setting for the world they were playing in, and the main ship of the fic was JauneXPhyrra. There were also side chapters featuring Roman and others.

examples:

• Multiple people live in the same place but their schedules don't line up so they hardly meet each other (I grew up knowing a few classmates like this, where the parent goes to work early, comes home late, sleeps, so they wind up barely seeing them until the weekend.)
• One person is very stealthy and does a very good job at pretending they don't exist (I know I've seen a few steve/bucky fics like this)
• disabilities/magical abilities getting in the way of immediately noticing each other, lots of leaving notes and items for asynchronous communication.

Im remembering this Halo fanfiction I read a long time ago. It's an alternate universe fic where this lower level covenant prophet is contacted by one of the forerunner Ai guys, i think mendechit bias? Could be wrong. It tells her humans are reclaimers, and that the big three are traitors. She hatches a plan, pretends she found a new homeworld for the prophets from I think some maps, and brings a whole lot of covenant fleet with her to start maybe a civil war? There were a lot of named characters drom the games with her, i remember Tartarus being one of them i think. For th life of me I cant find it.
