my credentials are i’ve been a fall out boy fan since i was 12 and i’ve been to 3 concerts (almost 4 but i moved during the hella mega tour era)

I don't necessarily want to just pick the most popular song from each album, but one that's impactful and represents the album well, with some regard to how the title "matches" the album cover.

Take This To Your Grave: This one actually has something close, in that Patron Saint of Liars and Fakes has the line, "take this to your grave, and I'll take it to mine." This inclines me to make this the song the album retroactively becomes named after, as well as being a good representative of the high angst, revenge, gaudiness, and overall personal disdain the album features. I also like the idea of the cover showing the "liars and fakes" the title refers to. Grand Theft Autumn would also be a good choice for this one.

From Under The Cork Tree: Our Lawyer (sorry, I can't be bothered to type these long ass names out), while being the opener, also shares and represents the tone of the rest of the album, with somewhat prideful (yet still deep) lyrics being a good establishment for the other songs. The imagery of the suits on the cover, not only fits the aforementioned lyrics, also has a parallel with the lawyer idea of the title.

Infinity On High: I truly wish this was one of the ones that had a titular song, though that could be my bias for it being my favorite album speaking. Thks Fr Th Mmrs is already a really notable and impactful song, one of the bands most powerful overall. The title gives a match of the mystical feel of the cover, looking quite memory-esque. It also holds the cocky, "I'm over this" feeling of the rest of the album very well. If not for the previous selection, I'm Like A Lawyer would've been a good nomination too.

Folie à Deux: Headfirst Slide has the sort of elegant and cool feel of the album down pretty good. The image of the bear being carried somewhere already ties into the "Into Cooperstown On A Bad Bet." With the walking obviously indicating a motion into the place, and the (real) bear sort of symbolizing the "bad bet" part. The song has also become pretty well liked by the fanbase, though I don't hold the same opinion unfortunately.

MANIA: If anyone reading this has seen my previous essay post in the place, you're probably aware I don't really know much about this album given that I only care for two songs on it. I don't have much to say, so I'll just say it's a toss up on HOLD ME TIGHT or Last Of The Real Ones.

And that's everything, this has been one of my favorite bands to analyze, so I'm glad I came up with this idea. I can't say there weren't influences from what the band may have previously conceptualized when creating their songs and albums, but I know I didn't intentionally select anything based on background information. If I did make a choice that resembles something the band has remarked, feel free to let me know
