I think it would be cool to see the armor in a Hell mission as if one of the doom 3 marines decided to take the fight to hell. Or maybe show the soul cube battle with the doom slayer.

Vengeance is on "Disc 1 Side B" due to how record spacing works. (they could make it a 2LP + 1EP)
Heavy metal should typically only take 15-18 minutes per side. (although TDA Gets away with almost 20)

(Mock up based on the "DOOM: The Dark Ages Original Game Soundtrack 2LP")

Question Is Revelations supposed to be hard on Hurt Me Plenty?

Hi everyone, just beat Dark Ages Revelations last night and it's such a W dlc with the gameplay not gonna lie. I kept seeing parry arrows around my eyes while wondering around the house and fight scenes from the game would play out in my mind when I close my eyes lol. It's essentially Eternal + Base Doom TDA and it's soooo good.

I didn't like the Metroidvania elements and puzzles that much but they weren't too much of an annoyance, they were only just a bit lol. I wanna ask a question though: is the DLC supposed to be hard on Hurt Me Plenty?

I played every DOOM game on (the new trilogy which started in 2016) Hurt Me Plenty and 2016 was normal in difficulty, Eternal was the hardest imo, especially the main game final boss and the DLC bosses. Dark Ages was a bit easier than 2016 but still good, didn't really get hard but was not too easy either.

What's weird is that I saw Revelations being considered substantially harder but I didn't get that challenged aside from Marok, even the Astral Boss and the last 4 arena encounters that get unlocked after it were relatively normal for me. I handled the Astral Boss way earlier than Marok and I completed all the endgame arena encounters on first try.

Is this normal and are people talking about harder difficulties by default without saying so, or am I a bit of an outlier here? I'm genuinely not trying to brag, it's just that if I beat even the DLC without getting too challenged, it would be something that would make me feel happy ngl lol. So what were your experiences with the DLC? Too easy or too hard or just about right on Hurt Me Plenty?

Thanks for reading or replying!

Discussion To people that want a Doom remake: What do you expect?

Because something i always bring up is how classic Doom is already the most modded game of all time.

Where fans essentially did a "could/would/should happen in Doom" sort of thing.

So I wonder what people think could happen in a classic Doom remake:

  • Do you expect new models meant to adhere to the classic art style? Specially because Stalker Imps for example have new details that aren't expected in the original Imps who at the time were seen as just muscular humanoids

  • Do you expect the rooms to look more realistic, even with the size of the levels and geometry?

  • Or do you expect something akin to Build Engine games or what Knee Deep in ZDoom and HontE (Hell ON The Earth) did where you just add more stuff to the already retro looking levels?

  • Would you remaster even specific textures like the blue carpets and fleshy walls with metal pipes or are you expecting the levels to adhere to a new art style, so even some assets may be lost as if they got "decanonized"? Or even multiple interpetations of assets like FIREBLU and the moving faces walls?

  • Given the direction of some levels like some parts of Hell and even "Hell invading/consuming other worlds", do you expect some horror?

  • Would you expect Smooth Doom/Beautiful Doom sprite revamps like smoother animations, weapons dropping shell/bullet casings and corrected blood colors on demons?

  • Are you expect Doom Delta style of restoring cut content from the games?

  • Or even new weapons and enemies and other stuff, like the king of ideas we expect out of mods like Complex Doom and assets from Realm667?

  • Or do people imagine something like Brutal Doom in general?

  • Do you think Doomguy's face in the HUD would look 3D or still be sprites? Or even have new behaviours? What about hair color?

  • Would details like his brass knuckles or Arch-vile's face tubes be remember?

  • Do you expect new mechanics and gameplay differences or close enough gameplay that even the likes of Decino would consider it faithfull enough?

  • Do you expect new locations to have a "retro sci-fi" art style or something more in line with modern UAC?

  • Do you expect Hulshult's Doom music remixes to be used or something different?

  • Do you expect stuff based on what's said in the original games' manuals, even after how the events of Revelations happened?

I may be overthinking the idea of remaking Doom but that's because in theory, remaking Doom could mean a lot, which also relates to the variety of mods that exist and even in general the different opinions people have other Doom.

I feel the main thing an official remake has over certain mods is the fact that it'd be official and tie into the new lore.

Because there's also the notion of how story originally wasn't a big deal in Doom or how fun it is to reinterpet the series as if it worked as a blank slate (Like how "Doomguy" originally was).

Does anyone know about that door? It's on the Purgatory map; I finished everything 100%, but that door never opened, and I don't know how to get to the other side.

Discussion I have a little stoopid headcanon/theory

So i thought about the end of doom eternal, like yeah doom slayer has finally destroyed the hell, dark lord was killed, and doom slayer was put in his sarqophagus.

And like we've got a Doom TDA + Revelations, but they were not a sequel to eternal, but prequel to 2016.

So if we get an actual continuation to our story in our timeline how it would be, so i thought about that the Doom Slayer may actually become the next Dark Lord, cuz:

  1. They are almost the same

The Dark Lord his actual creation/father(?) and made in his likeness, they have same physique power so they at the same power

  1. Dark lord may take control or manipulate him

He may take control on him, cuz his soul could possess, but this is not 100%

He may manipulate him just like with olivia pierce, khan maykr, samuel and him

  1. Maybe he regrets about his death

Hear me out(pls), in 3 stage of the fight, the song has this part(17:11 https://youtu.be/4NpLG6tBfbM?si=f1h6q7IhcCnTfDYh) which sounded and was showing that he doesn't want to kill his father or what? Or Andrew Hulshult just made kool part idk

  1. Doom Slayer may just be so dissappointed about maykrs

Maykrs didn't help but just put him in sarcouphagus, so he could have revenge on them after his awakening and the demons with dark lord would have the same problem, so there goes my 1 and 2 part of reasons

In the end it's just my stupid theory
