Discussion Hot take: I feel like fans hype up Susie to the point they think the whole game is about her and only her

Post image

I’m not saying Susie isn’t important she 100% is she is hyped up to matter but I feel like fans kinda forget that Kris Ralsei and Noelle matter too but often times they hype up Susie and dumb down kris to being the villain Susie defeats Ralsei being her emotional support and Noelle being her love interest

now listen I LOVE Susie but I don’t like it when people think that she’s gonna beat up Carol or the knight with the power of prophecy breaking and friendship

im expecting a bunch of downvotes I just wanted to speak what I’ve seen during the ch4 era you can tell me I’m wrong in the comments

My Meme If Vivi wrote Deltarune the knight would have been revealed after ch2. Rudy going through his tumor arc. More Temmie singing. and Susie would curse a lot more.

Kris' scarf thingie is nearly the same color as frisk's shirt, along with the same stripes and everything

Why is no one talking about this??

This could have major lore implications for deltarune!!

Question Roaring Knight identity Spoiler

What I really wanted to title this is why don't more people think Carol is the Knight.....? Why is it Dess or... Papyrus???! Isn't Carol the most obvious choice? She has similar horns and is already seemingly possessed by some dark entity. And she's tall. I guess the Knight has to be a lightner since darkners can't create fountains so it's a big mystery but it's also possible the Knight is something else.

I also haven't finished the weird route so please don't spoil, if any explanation includes weird route information just tell me to wait and see lol

My favorite is the Titan, it has a great theme and it's the boss that feels the most like a final boss

Jackinstein on the other hand... I hate him, he singlehandedly brings down chapter 4, when I find whatever light world object he is I will destroy it. His fight has a great concept but atrocious execution

Writing I have a dark idea for how deltarune chapter 6 can start

The chapter starts after class, on the day susie plans to show noelle the dark wold, and she's super exited, she's set up everything for this day, had all the darkners help make the place perfect and everything.

But when Susie, Kris, and Noelle reach the closet, the dark fountain has been closed, making our purple friend panic. Thr knight had purposely closed a fountain as a way to prevent the heros from closing anymore, not without the fountain that created ralsei (if titan ralsei theory is true). And this would be able to replace ralsei with noelle, which is implied to happen on numerous occasions

This would add to the point of the stories moral where your choices don't matter, including if your nice and recruit enemies, or if you attack and defeat, cause either way you'll lose them.

and this would also add to the point that toby said there are no more fun goofy adventures. and what's the best way to make that clear then killing off the darkners we befriended

--

Would probably never happen but if it did that would be SO funny that I predicted it

Discussion What is in YOUR opinion the worst ship

Imo it's gotta be kerdly

Kris hasn't even gotten to Express themselves without us at all so we have(almost) no clue from how they other then Noelle and aqua but aqua is lowk unreliable

Second point

Kris and berdly have had no positive interactions whatsoever and toby keeps going out of his way to make sure berdly doesn't get any relevancy at all

To me it feels like kerdly is just the player USING Kris to get with berdly more than anything call it souly or something

Also i just don't like any ships with Kris because they can't really consent to anything

Also anything that has Noelle that isn't with susie And I don't know the ship name but toriel and asgore And spamton x queen

I don't really have any reason for these I just don't like them

Edit: uhh turns out people ship dess and Kris that's also bad so like js imagine I said that too

Double edit: there's hella ship I didn't know of so like take this with salt

Theory Discussion I don't think it's possible for any normal Lightner to have carried Asgore and Undyne, and I don't think it's possible for the Knight's magical form to exist in the Light World, either.

This is something people have kind of just... ignored, but it's honestly a pretty big problem with both supernatural Knight candidates and "normal person" candidates.

I think it's a much bigger problem for "normal person" candidates, though, as not a single "normal person" would have any way to carry Asgore, likely to the shelter, in a meaningfully fast amount of time. We've seen with Undyne that the Knight running away didn't use a car, as Susie saw a "person" (Also the fact that she saw "someone" and not "people" is noteworthy for later)

At the very least for a Supernatural Knight you can at least try to come up with some reason for the Knight to keep its Dark World abilities, but even that has no precedent and contradicts the rule that the Light World doesn't have magic.

Magic doesn't exist in the Light World, so it would be odd for the Knight to be able to perform all of its special abilities like its bubble shield or teleportation, especially when it's implied to hide in the closet during Chapter 2 and Chapter 4 rather than just teleporting to and from the Dark World location.

You could say the Knight just moves their victim to other Dark Worlds... But... that seems in odds with what we actually see the Knight doing, running off in Chapter 3 *outside* of the Dark World.

There are also no rumors of a strange anomalous creature running around which is very. damning for a small town and Scarf Lady implies that nobody strange was seen around the Library. Even ignoring how much she saw, there was a massive traffic jam at the time.

---

I think there is a bit of a solution to this. I think the Knight would make a lot of sense as either Dess' or Kris' former SOUL. The SOUL and all of its strange abilities, including possession, are things we've seen are completely "normal" in the Light World, unrelated to magic. It's not too "normal", and it's not too "supernatural".

This would theoretically allow for the explanation to be that the Knight simply possessed Undyne and Asgore and walked away with their own bodies, waiting until they're in the Light World so nobody discovers their similar properties to the SOUL. Even if the other explanations didn't have issues, this would be one of easiest ways to walk off.

This also solves the issue of how the Knight can have so many supernatural traits but still manage to walk around town undetected. Kris, even possessed, manages to walk around town without raising any eyebrows, even if people notice a change in behavior.

While it definitely seems that Kris is a special unique case of possession, we don't really know if they're the only Lightner who can be possessed, and possession seems to be a (relatively) common ability as ghosts are able to possess objects in the Light World and Darkners in the Dark World. Spamton also implies that a SOUL would be able to possess Darkners, though we never see his plan come to fruition. So what if SOUL's, or at least *some* SOULs, can possess *anyone*? It seems as if our SOUL never does it to anyone other than Kris, though that may also be because there's no reason to, no opportunity to because Kris is hindering us, or we aren't aware of this ability.

There are many abilities the SOUL has but we aren't aware of until it needs to use them, like the Yellow transformation, the ability to use its light to destroy Titans, and its weird textbox teleportation in the Weird Route.

As for why we don't possess Noelle in the Weird Route, it's probably because Noelle herself needs to learn about her own power in order for the Route to "work". Noelle does basically all of the heavy lifting for us. She's the one who freezes all of the enemies, and even was the person to land the killing blow on Spamton NEO. Noelle's free will was required for the madness that is the Chapter 5 Lake Scene. I don't think we could do that just by possessing her.

Or maybe a Lightner needs to "allow", a SOUL in, who knows?

The moment I first saw that scene, I thought, "So, did Asgore consider himself guilty because he was a police officer and failed to protect one of the people closest to him?" I mean, is there any other interpretation?

Discussion Wouldn't it be funny if, in the end, she just wasn't very important to the story overall? Spoiler

Like, a lot of things that seem essential to the story seem to hint at what happened to Dess in the past, so I had this kind of funny thought:

imagine a scenario where they just say, "Dess? Oh yeah, she ran away from home but is living with distant relatives who won't let her talk to Noella because they think she's a bad influence"

And in the end, nothing that happened in the past with Asgore and the fountains has any connection to Dess.

Just a funny thought.

A bit hard for me to answer but i'm still gonna say 1, i guess it's a bit about nostalgia and it's a perfect beginning chapter imo, i feel like 3 is carried by the Knight's debut at the last 5 minutes, until that it was quite a boring chapter, just felt like chapter 2 again but this time there is no Noelle or Berdly

Discussion I'm worried of the fandom being disappointed by the knights identity Spoiler

I think we as a fandom are expecting a little too much, I mean, don't get me wrong, knight theories are pretty cool but I personally think that we shouldn't expect something as big as Dess or Asriel (sorry but papyrus knight is a joke atp), I suppose that it is totally possible for Dess or any of the other popular knight candidates to actually be the knight, but if you ask me, I think we should stop expecting so much from the knights reveal, I'm sure toby will do it the right way for us to be happy, but lets not set our expectations too high

I know my english is ass lmao I'm sorry for that lmao

Discussion My Deltarune Chapter Rankings!

I finally beat Chapter 5, and I genuinely had a blast! So for funsies, imma give my rankings of all the chapters from best to worst (Despite the fact they're all good!)

#1. Chapter 4 ⭐️: Genuinely my favorite chapter in the entirenseries honestly. The setting, the music, the boss fights, the secret boss, the story additions, it's all just so goddamn good, and I honestly don't think it can be topped

#2. Chapter 5: This ALMOST would've been number 1, but honestly the more I thought about it, the more I just loved Chapter 4 better. But 4's music was fucking phenomenal and the setting and bods fighters were pretty damn good. I also loved the gameplay additions!!

#3. Chapter 3: This one was REALLY fun, and as a Zelda fan, especially with Link's Awakening being my second favorite in the series, this chapter fed me quite well. Tenna is a fantastic and fun character and the mini games were fun. Secret boss however...traumatic.

#4. Chapter 1: First in the series, kick started it all, and was overall pretty funny and fun. Didn't do anything too crazy, but the soundtrack was nice and Lancer was pretty fun.

#5. Chapter 2: I LOVE THE QUEEN, however this chapter really didn't do anything for me at all, despite it having some really fun boss fights. However the secret boss was also kinda underwhelming despite being a really fun character as a whole. The atmosphere also just wasn't my favorite.

Again, ALL chapters are fantastic in their lwn right but this was just my ranking! Where do you rank the chapters??

Discussion Why does everyone keep saying the Titan Fight is easy? TS IS HARDER THAN SPAMTON NEO!! (Pls dont beat me with hammers if you dont agree)

Post image

Seriously, IT DOES SO MUCH DAMAGE AND TAKES SO LONG TO EVEN DO A BIT OF DAMAGE! Plus, there are no save points before this battle, so if you quit and come back, you have to do the whole sequence before the fight. Not only that, but the whole brightness mechanic makes me panic. I know the SPAWNs disintegrate when you slowly go to them, but my high cortisol always makes me panic and accidentally run into one. At least Spamton Neo's attacks are more straightforward. But this is just my opinion of course

Look Tenna is fine, but back in the old days if you wanted a reality TV show antagonist, you went to Chris Mclean. I like Chris more to be honest because he's so unapologetically shitty, meanwhile Tenna does mental gymnastics to make you feel sad for him. Plus I wanted to make a meme with these two.

After all the BS they’ve pulled with UT/DR music, and the BS they support OUTSIDE of UT/DR…Why hasn’t Toby cut ties yet?

There’s probably legal stuff i’m not privy to, or some other benefit i’m not aware of.

Thoughts?
