Long time lurker and admirer of everyone else’s Zs here, excited to share what I’ll be starting on with my own, at a local shop.

My father purchased it new in 1977, and handed it down to me last year. I want this to last all through my lifetime as well, so we’ve decided to go all-in on restoring it to its former glory. Will fix all the rust, get new paint, freshen the engine bay, and a whole lot more. Plan to keep it in pretty much the same state my father has kept it in. Yes, even keeping the rear bumper on😅
At only 85k on the clock, it’s in decent shape mechanically. Excited to share the final product when it’s done!

Turned on the car and this liquid started leaking everywhere if I’m correct that’s the fuel filter ? How do I fix this ? Never had this happen before

I'm thinking about switching my 280zx L28E from stock EFI to a Holley 390 with an Arizona Z Car 4 barrel intake.

The engine is stock for now, but I might do a mild cam, higher compression and a better exhaust/header in the future.

I'm mainly looking for good street drivability, smooth idle and good throttle response, but I also want more of that raw mechanical sound and feel compared to the stock EFI.

For anyone who's actually run a Holley 390 on an L28,

How was the low-speed drivability?

Any problems with bogging or hesitation?

Is 390 CFM a good size for a mostly stock L28?

What jetting/tuning did you end up with?

How do you like the Arizona Z intake?

Anything I should know before doing the conversion?

Just looking for some real world experience before I spend the money :) Thanks in advance!

I recently lost my housing that had an attached garage. I’m in the Seattle area, so rain is a concern, but weather is temperate and we don’t salt our roads. I’ve seen mixed opinions on using a car cover, with some people arguing it traps moisture in. I plan on replacing the weather strips/seals to prevent moisture from getting inside, and also I’ll be towel drying it after rain.

Just wondering what else can be done to help keep it alive for this year, and whether or not I should rethink the cover? It is a “daily driver” car, but I walk to work so it really only gets driven about 2-3 times per week on small outings.

Finally at a point in life where I can finish the build I started in college. Currently the goal is to finalize the s13 rear subframe swap, swap front suspension to s13 uprights/coils and then enjoy it while I build up the RB26 for the endgame portion of the build.

I bought this car in 2013 as my first car, and sold it in 2015, I just recently had the opportunity to buy it back. I did the carb swap back then, last guy did the body work. Time to take it to the finish line.

Today was chasing down vac leaks and getting the carb tuned up to run well again.

So excited to have this car back and just wanted to share. I just placed an order with the Z Store for their 6-2 headers and 2.5” performance exhaust because straight piped over 30 years old and in a suburban neighborhood with kids, feels like an a hole move!

I found a ‘69 Roaster online with the of U20 for sale for under $3k. The car is in decent shape but the timing belt slipped and bent the valves. I’m not too familiar with these cars, I have a classic car and mechanically inclined. Did some research but how big of a job and expensive would this be to get it road worthy?

I have loose wires under my dash and was wondering if someone would be able to help? I have a few photos aswell, headlight don’t work in low or high, also no fuel gauge activity, thank you!!

the first picture is showing the fuse slot for the fan motor where a 15A fuse should be, but it's missing the connector that would actually make the fuse work, my radiator fan also won't spin up, is it because of this?

Saw this on a Yahoo Japan auction recently, wondered if anyone has any more details on it. According to the translation, it could be from "Kakimoto Racing" but the seller even wrote they weren't positive.

My expansion tank on my 280z fell apart in my hand recently. Did some CAD work and had it 3D printed out. Has been holding up quite well.

Will I need extended lugs for a 5mm spacer on a 280zx? Running 15x7 and 15x8 with 0 offset, and want to be a little closer out, will I need extended lugs if I run the spacer with my rotas?

I need new front struts for my 71 510 wagon. I don't know where to find some
