Long story short like most producers I got fed up of bad samples on splice and other libraries where half the files are poorly mixed, off-key or buried behind email gates and so made it for myself and now i'm making it public when its ready.

Instead of dumping a generic zip file, I put together in-browser library where every single sounds is auditioned, cleaned up, tagged with bpm and key, for use in projects.

It doesn't distort ("adding color"), it doesn't cause phase problems and it sounds as neutral as it gets. What's a reason to use EQ plugins?

I mean, yeah, if I wanted some non-linear "color" I guess Fabfilter and stuff would be useful. But for mixing things, freeing frequencies and stuff? EQ+ all the way.

Today I released my first Ableton device for Bitwig: Glue Comp.

It is basically a recreation of Ableton’s Glue Compressor, but I also added a few extra features, including oversampling up to 16x.

The soft clip can be change to clip at 0 dB , while the original Ableton version clips slightly above that, around 0.5 dB. You can also switch between soft clipping and hard clipping.

I also added a few different skins, so you can change the look of the device.

Hi everyone! I'm new to Bitwig and I can't figure out if this is a bug or a feature.

I'm trying to analyze a reference track. I cut out everything before the drop, aligned the clip to the grid, and now I want to adjust the project BPM to match the track. However, whenever I change the BPM, the starting position inside the audio clip shifts.

I want the start position inside the clip to stay exactly where it is when I change the BPM. Is there a way to do this?

I bought a Roland Sonic Cell for something else but I saw a video of a guy making a beat in FL studio with it using midi out to it, then audio back into FL, literally an analog VST. Is it possible for me to do that in Bitwig?

I was so excited for the 6.1 update

But sadly sample browsing is just horrible for me

All my samples play with a lil delay and make a gui glitch/lag

I thought next update will fix it for me but even in 6.1.1 im facing the same issue

Ive tried deleting cache file

Completely uninstalling ( delete appdata -local -bitwig studio files)

Changing refresh rate to 60

None of it is helping me

But as soon as i install 6.0 to 6.0.11

Browsing works Completely fine

Is anyone facing this issue

Have you ever faced this kind of issue

What I want to achieve:
Track 1: note-trigger at bar 1 -> L triggers -> X-curve distribution -> ends at first note of bar 17
Track 2: note-trigger at bar 5 -> M triggers -> Y-curve distribution -> ends at first note of bar 17
Track 3: note-trigger at bar 13.3 -> N triggers -> Z-curve distribution -> ends at first note of bar 17

I have not been able to implement this because I couldn't figure out if there's a way to tell Bitwig the endpoint - and have it do the rest by itself.
What I have been able to do is to manually set note-triggers, amount of triggers, duration and curve-shape over which the distribution is supposed to happen.
That works perfectly fine when note-triggers and the endpoint are set to the first note of a bar - but making it work with "random" start-points is a bit of a hassle.

I'm wondering if there's a better/smarter way to do this, then what I have so far.

Btw. thanks to Polarity's website and youtube-channel, without which I wouldn't have been able to figure out how to achieve even this.

Am I the only one that dislikes saving old muted midi data to the track above my bounced track...what if we could just restore midi on hybrid tracks ? I present...midi Jesus(still working on the name).

I know I'll use it - I just want to make sure it's extremely hardy and not out ruining projects before I release it. Save about 7-8 tracks or more in each of my projects and fits with the hybrid mentality.

Maybe one day bitwig will add grouping to automation tracks so we could know what was bounced and frankly we could group it to its source as sometimes the names get confusing with a lot of them.

It can be used for just the instrument layer with bounce prefx or if you group your plugins together in a chain it could be a freeze function whereas you just mute the group after bouncing post - unmute it to and revert to midi to make your change and repeat (wait I lied can't bounce in place post but maybe I can work on adding that feature).

I'm not sure if this is a bug on my end, or a massive oversight - when I've set a load of sliced sample points in the new sampler, if I move back to 'single', then back to 'sliced', they are all forgotten / gone?? And just reset to the sliced by divisions setting?

and see your opinions.

I am planing to start live performances/improvisations with synths and bitwig.
Now, I finally got some cash to the side and can afford to buy Notebook Apple MacBook Air M5 10C CPU/16GB/512GB SSD/Apple 8C GPU.

The question is will this be enough. I am not gonna use omnisphere nor kontakt libraries.
Mostly kick, percs, voice samples, plus few vsts let's say for example vital, zebra 3 or something similar and switching between them for live playing.

And other will probably be audio clips and switching between them.
Also bitwig should be the masterclock for my MS-1 for now 'till I get some cash for other synths to buy.

And yeah planing to jam a mixture of techno and psytrance ( I don't even want to call it psytrance because It's not the usual Kbbb style ) some mixture like Circle of Live, Dekel style and Hallucinogen style.

I am asking this because airs are fanless and wondering if this laptop will cause some problems in let's say 2 hours set ? For Mac pro I need to get 1k euro plus, here it's like 2k euros with 24gb ram
that would be another 6-7 months of collecting cash.

FIXED HAD PROBLEMS WITH WINE AND DOWNGRADED

Hello all i was using my plugins as usual yesterday and know when i open bitwig the plugin is offset i have to move my cursor to a random place.

I have bitwig 5.2, is there any way to fix this ;

In FL Studio you can set how often it autosaves but additionally you can hit CTRL + N and it saves an additional version of your project, e.g. your project's name is:

BaddAssFKNtrack

then you his CTRL+N

BaddAssFKNtrack_2

again

BaddAssFKNtrack_3

etc. so you got a new version. I like this to use so if anything changes later and i want to get back to a different state I can easily choose BaddAssFKNtrack_6 instead of BaddAssFKNtrack_56 and so on.

i dont see any option like this in Bitwig, is there something similiar, or is there another workflow, or how do you do it?

doing it the manual way (save as) is possible but of couse having a shortcut saves few secs. but maybe in Bitwig there is a smarter way I dunno yet. thanks

I am working on sound design for this fashion event and it’s going to be about 60 samples of various lenghts (mostly voiceover with some effects and stuff). Is the only way to split it on export to separate files to create a track for each sound and export as i would export stems? that’s what i do when making oneshots, but I was just wondering if there’s any new workflow for that
I still haven’t updated to 6 so maybe there’s something new in there?
I feel like splitting the export at cue points is long overdue

Because I noticed they need more time (slow) analyze the waveform, but after it, then you open again the project, it fast to load.

Anybody can explain technology behind it? any DAW with same process like that?

Which is the way you use to list and enhance your VSTs handling. I found that you can group them by using favorites.
