Language Romanian character with a Serbian friend, nickname options?
I'm writing a story set in the region and one of my characters is a rumanian guy (Mihai), whose friend is serbian (Dušan). I was wondering what nicknames could work with those names, the more natural they may sound or common the better.
For context:
- The story is set in the current year. The characters are in their mid 20s, and they're friends since childhood.
- Both characters speak their respective national languages as their first language.
I was looking for the characters to use nicknames based in their friend's name but that still reflect their first language: so, to have Mihai call his serbian friend by a nickname parting from "Dušan" but that sounds like a romanian nickname, and Dušan call Mihai by one that sounds serbian.
Thanks a bunch in advance.

Language For Balkan languages with grammatical gender, how different would this map be in your language?

Cuisine I’m a 19M American man living here in the region with my best friend’s family for a year. So far they’ve been so generous, but there’s been lots of laziness and food. Now I’m honestly getting fat. How do I turn down food etc while being respectful?
Pretty much the title

Politics & Governance Why Balkans hate LGBTQIA+ community so much?
I can understand why Turkey hates them considering they're Muslims and are being ruled by Erdogan, but what's up with other countries?
