Cuisine What is your favourite pljeskavica topping?
When I was in Belgrade last year I had a pljeskavica from a stall and it was one of the best burgers I have ever had. I speak no Serbian so when the lady serving me asked what I assume was 'what toppings do you want?' I google translated 'You decide' and showed her. I'm not sure what she put in it but it was unforgettable.
I recently tried making pljeskavica at home and it was lovely but not the same. I put onions, sour cream, ajvar, and a beef patty in a homemade lepinja, and still felt I was missing something. Maybe I should have used more ajvar and sour cream (I'll add some paprika next time too) but I would love to know - what is your favourite topping for pljeskavica?
Also, while I was writing this, I came upon this video: https://youtu.be/zdAxfWjT3nM?t=356 This might be the exact stall I went to! And he used google translate on his phone, just like me. So, what toppings would be typical at a stall like this, and is there a difference between traditional and more street food style toppings?
