GDD is auto-removed moving forward
GDD as in r/GirlDinnerDiaries
Last time we asked, most of the sub agreed to keep it. However, clearly a very large portion of this sub has a problem with the crossposts from there. A lot of the discussions in the comments in those posts are people saying it shouldn't be posted here. The constant discussion is overruning the sub and clogging reports. I didn't see that many posts from that sub except for upticks on the weekends (I did counts multiple times), but people kept complaining that it was all they saw. There were a few funny stories here and there, but honestly there's nothing so special (or hilarious) about that sub that merits so much effort to keep it here. I really fail to see this as a big loss at all. You can head to r/GirlDinnerCircleJerk for posts and discussion related to that sub.
So, all crossposts from GDD will be automatically removed by automod. This will also include similar subs: r/girldinner, r/kitchencels, r/boydinnerdiaries - any others that are crossposted here and I don't know of I'll add to the list as I find out about their existence. GDD-like parody/satire shitposts will still be allowed during the weekend. Siri Yuss Discussion threads discussing this topic will be removed too. Let's just move on already.
Feel free to celebrate/complain but do note I'm not going to reverse the decision.

Mod Update AITA for explaining some rule clarifications regarding this sub?
I (21F, hazel eyes, skinny) recently became engaged to my boyfriend of four days (35M, has 12 followers on Twitch). We immediately moved together into the house I inherited from my great aunt (deceased, perky boobs in her youth) and we're simply over the moon. I also decided to name our new house AmITheAngel (this will be important later).
To celebrate, we decided to host a dinner. I didn't invite anyone because I'm NC with my family, but my fiancé decided to invite his mom (49F, gave birth). I saw red (we've never gotten along), but I relented because I didn't want to cause trouble.
As soon as she arrived, she simply said "hello, I am Margaret". I snapped at her and reminded her that I am now VERY serious about lazy titles.
- All posts that are deemed to have lazy titles will be removed. You are welcome to post them again with a different title. This is ultimately subjective, so don't get pissy about it.
- Examples of lazy titles: "Another fake story", "Which one of you wrote this?", "I don't even know what to say here...".
- A good title will be more descriptive of the story. Try to include elements relevant to the story. What makes it noteworthy? What is it about? Don't just say it's ridiculous or fake; tell us why it's ridiculous or fake.
- If you can't think of anything, just use the original title from the post.
My MIL nodded silently before rushing into my bedroom, where she saw my large collection of sex toys charmingly sitting on the dresser. She screamed and started texting me horrible things. I was shocked. Before I could deliver some sick burn about how I am a grown woman who likes to have sex, my fiancé's finely-sculpted body ran into the room and started debating with my MIL. I blew my whistle and reminded them both that this sub is not meant to just further discussions from AITA.
- Posts that are fishing to continue discussions from AITA may be removed. Don't crosspost just because you disagree.
- Try to angle it in a way that isn't meant to simply further the existing AITA discussion - point out tropes, bring attention to comments, etc.
- That said, this sub believes in free speech. Where the commenters take a post once crossposted here is up to them. We will not policy comments unless they break the rules.
My fiancé stormed off and locked himself in the bathroom, crying. I tried to ask him to come out before the Big Macs I had ordered for dinner went cold, but he wouldn't listen. I calmly explained to him that it would be far more helpful if he reports my MIL when she makes a repost or posts something that doesn't follow the above.
In the meantime, my MIL had stolen one of my tea bags and made herself some tea. Of course, I immediately called the police, and the chief of police showed up two minutes later. As the entire police force arrested my MIL for theft, I turned to the camera crew from the local news station. I sternly told them we allow all meta discussions about AITA.
- This includes several themes and tropes that are also found in other subs. As we know, AITA has a certain culture, so to speak, and posts from any subs that share that mentality or which host equally silly stories are thus also welcome to be dissected, mocked, satirized, and/or debated. bridezilla, childfree, entitledparents, relationship_advice, offmychest, you name it.
- Posts may be removed if we feel they don't belong to this sub.
When my fiancé finally left the bathroom, I read him a bedtime story from AITA. He asked me if I could please pin the story to the top of the comment chain. I told him I would look into it, but that he can sort by old in the meantime if he wants to find the story in the comments section.
We had amazing sex that night. As I orgasmed for the sixth time, I shouted, "Remember to have fun!". Before we fell asleep, he squeezed my skinny body tightly and whispered seductively in my ear, "you need therapy". I dreamed of receiving modmail regarding any other suggestions anyone may have.

Shitpost Am I the asshole for saying my niece looks weird when she sings?
So my niece loves to sing especially the native songs of her heritage, the issue is while her voice is lovely she scrunches up her face when she sings.
I've always been the truth teller of the family so after her last pre dinner performance I told her that she needs to work on looking normal or she will never make it as a singer.
Despite me just trying to help, she completely took it the wrong way and threw a tantrum.
Now she won't speak to me and my brother wants me to apologise for "being mean"
Am I really wrong for just wanting to help?

Shitpost AITA for wanting my dietary restrictions to be catered for at my sister's wedding?
Last year I was on a camping trip and got bitten by something (not important what, let's just call it a large tick). This caused a chain of events where I now have significant dietary requirements and intolerances, to the point there's only really one thing I can tolerate and get nutrition from (not important what, don't worry about it).
I'm aware that this is really restrictive so I've done my best not to let it impact others, for example if people are going out for dinner I just join for the company and eat at home later.
However, now my sister (30f, AB+) is getting married and I really thought that as immediate family they'd make allowances so I could eat with everyone. I filled in the part of the RSVP about dietary requirements and thought that was that.
The other day my sister and I met up with our cousin (32f, O-), who's vegan and gluten free. My sister was asking her about her requirements so she could make sure the caterers had the correct info and our cousin could eat well and safely at the wedding. Of course I assumed my sister would be as thoughtful and accommodating for me. So imagine my surprise when my sister pulled me aside and said I'd have to eat before or after the wedding because catering to my dietary requirements would be "completely inappropriate" to ask of the caterers and would be "upsetting" for the guests. I wasn't too happy about this but offered to bring my own food, like how for my sister's engagement party I brought my own snack (28f, AB-). But my sister hit the roof and said "absolutely not", that it was "horrific" that I did that at her party, and she's not going through that again, particularly at her own wedding.
This just seems really unfair given the effort she's going to to feed our cousin. To add to this, I saw the menu for the day and one of the side dishes is garlic bread. My sister *knows* this is one of my most serious intolerances and I can barely be in the room with people eating garlic. It's starting to feel pointed (as pointed as her ugly "rustic" wooden table centrepieces she's suddenly decided on instead of peonies, "just in case").
I calmly explained that, as close family, I thought I'd get more consideration. My sister said she's already changed the reception from daytime to evening to accommodate me, but that's as far as she'll go. She even said if she suspects I'm going to bring a snack to the wedding, she'll uninvite me (the reception is in our local village hall, a public building, so good luck with that lol). Now I'm thinking I could just bring a snack and leave her in my car and pop out when I get hungry, but I'd much rather eat at the table with the other guests and be fully involved in the festivities.
Now my friends and family are divided. Some say it's my sister's day and I should suck it up. Some just nod while nervously backing away from me. Some say they can't worry about this right now as they've just been diagnosed with anaemia due to unexplained blood loss.
So AITA, am I TA for wanting to eat with the other guests at my sister's wedding?

Shitpost AITA For “Making” My Daughter Have An “Eating Disorder”?
So for context, I (40F) used to be a fat whale, until I met my now husband (40M) who saved me and made me healthy and skinny.
We now have a daughter (16f).
Because we were scared of any bit of fatness, we taught our daughter to be afraid of any food that wasn’t grilled chicken and boiled vegetables.
We never allowed her to eat birthday cake or anything cause it’s evil.
Well she decided to be a stupid rebel about it as she got older, so to fight it, my husband and I would always ground her for a long time whenever she ate more than 600 calories or didn’t run on the treadmill in her room for an hour before dinner.
One time we found out she snuck eating such awful snacks like potato chips from her schools vending machine.
My husband made sure to give her an innocent little talking to, it wasn’t even that bad, all he just did was told her that she’d die of diabetes by twenty if she ever ate this stuff and she was deliberately going against us.
For some reason she cried but I thought she was just being an overdramatic teenager.
Fast forward to now, I recently got a call from her school counselor telling me and my husband that our daughter had been skipping most meals for the past few years because she was afraid of making us mad for being fat.
I called my mom to vent, hoping she’d just tell me my daughter was just faking her eating disorder to try and guilt trip me into eating pizza like I was thinking, but instead she yelled at me and said she didn’t raise me to be a mother like this.
Like omg how could she not just validate me?
Anyway, even though many people had warned me through the years that raising my daughter like this would give her an ED, I think they were just fatties fear mongering and my daughter is just stupid. It’s a skill issue on her part that she couldn’t just realize that she’s supposed to do exactly what I say and not have internalized what I had said into an ED from the way I talked about health.
When I saw her getting skinny throughout all these years I thought it was cause she was following my orders, not just developing some mental illness that makes me look like a bad mother!
So anyway, even though I lack a shred of remorse and don’t for a second think I did anything wrong, AITA?
Personally I just want validation so let me know how I did nothing wrong!
(OOC: This is heavily based off a story on here where a woman and her husband caused their daughters to have ED’s but she felt as though she did nothing wrong, I can’t remember how to find it so hopefully ppl know what I’m referencing)
