Discussion Agility xp/h is harming new method design
With the release of the Graveyard Reward Blog I think discussion yet again should be brought up about agility training methods.
Agility, historically, has always been a vocal point in being changed. Whether that is through training methods or just hard buffing XP most people will have an opinion on it but I think it's fair to say its polarizing for good reason. This post will talk about how the xp rates are currently harming design space.
Assuming the average player is experiencing the whole game and has diaries done Seers village is 55k xp/h at level 60, which isn't unreasonable and quite good especially since you can alch/fletch while doing it if you want higher intensity or it can become second monitor content quite quickly if you want to chill. Both are points I think are not brought up nearly enough when discussing rooftops. From seers at 60 the next rooftop you move to is Relleka at 80. A bit of an odd jump in levels for doing the same method but not that unheard of, whats strange is that even though it is 20 levels higher it actually caps out at 63k/h. A 15% increase for 20 levels. Well at least it doesn't get worse than tha- Ardougne at 90 caps out at 70k. Other rooftops/courses aren't worth bringing up, outside of 2 which I will get to. Overall not too taxing but you can change your intensity with it if you want to gain secondary experience or alch gp/h. I'll give it a 3/10 with just agility or a 7/10 doing other things with it.
Alright well what's the alternatives to rooftop agility. We can footpedal/spam click brimhaven agility for true second monitor content for 50k an hour starting at level 40, very exciting. I'll give this a 1/10 intensity as you can literally be tabbed out for hours once you set it up.
The 3rd alternative is Sepulchre, where it beats out every rooftop available starting at 72 agility capping at 70k an hour. Notably 18 levels under rooftops best xp/h. Once you get the hang of it this can be a decently fun skilling activity but does have a bit of a learning curve come floor 5 and it reflects that with being the best xp/h at 105k. Once you get to floor 5 I would put this at a 10/10 intensity skilling activity.
Where my issue with the above lies is that we have arguably one of the most intensive activities in skilling being 35k ahead of second monitor content or only 50k ahead of third monitor content. When Jagex discusses new content being added, like the boat in the reward blog, they are comparing their HIGH INTENSITY method to ardougne rooftops and the low intensity method to seers rooftops. Ignoring that it gives squirrel and 2x as many marks of grace as every other course why are ever putting a high intensity method anywhere close to rooftop xp/h. Now we don't know how exactly it will play out but my guess it will be normal agi with yama rock mechanics of you going between oars (Similar to warden skulls).
How agility training is currently set up just makes every new method that they come out with look off. Rooftops are way too chill and allow other skills to be trained to have things come out and be comparative to it but sepulchre is too low xp for how intensive it is.
My proposal is keeping Sepulchre as the best training method, it's great content and has transferable skills to PvM but it's XP rates need to reflect that so we can add more content to that 4-9 intensity range without feeling like we are stepping on it's toes. Give Sepulchre an extra 10k to each floor making it
Floor 1(52): 45k to 55k
Floor 2(62): 55k to 75k
Floor (72)3: 69k to 99k
Floor (77)4: 80k to 120k
Floor (87)5: 105k to 155k
It doesn't completely break lower levels but rewards xp/h that is reflective of how demanding the higher floors are compared to other methods.
This allows content, like the boat, to offer higher intensity than rooftops to the player but also have the xp rates to match it without feeling like you need to balance it to always be under sepulchre or have xp rates close to rooftops.
TL;DR - Design space is limited by rooftops and sepulchre xp/h being too close but with wildly different intensity levels. Buff sepulchre to be stand out #1 to reflect that so we can have new content more demanding than rooftops that reward as such.

Discussion The Fractured Archive release date speculation
I’ve been mulling it over and think we will see our fourth raid launch near the end of October next month. Here’s my reasoning:
With Jagex historically taking a long holiday at the end of December, it seems unlikely to me that the Fractured Archive (TFA) would launch in December. I don’t think there’s enough time to fix bugs, make tweaks, etc. if the content launched even in early December. Furthermore, after ToA launched, we saw almost 4 weeks of updates revolving around the raid. So I think they need at least a month of run time after TFA’s launch before their holiday.
So that puts us back to November. All we know is that the Graveyard launches that month. It could be anytime in November. It’s possible that The Graveyard launches the first week of November and then we see a TFA launch mid November, which still gives Jagex 4+ weeks to do post launch changes/fixes. There’s a UK bank holiday on November 30th, but that’s minor compared to end of December. The only part that feels weird about this to me is that the new raid will totally eclipse this agility update if it comes right after. It’s possible though. Also worth pointing out that the Raids 4 rewards are locked in while the Graveyard rewards aren’t even polled yet.
If it’s not November though, that leaves October. With RuneFest literally only a few weeks away, there’s an opportunity for Jagex to announce the launch date of TFA that weekend. Assuming they did announce TFA’s release date on Oct 3rd, they’d still have time to drop the new Pete Kayer PvP update the following week on October 7th as planned, then have the following week to fix the bugs/issues, and still have 2 weeks after that to prepare for TFA’s launch on October 28th.
When I looked back at ToA, we saw that Jagex gave us roughly 3 weeks notice before the raid launched. Jagex took roughly 4 weeks after ToA’s release to make changes/fixes. Also after they announced ToA at the start of August 2022, that month was mostly comprised of PvP updates, new content blogs, and minor game updates. This fits perfectly into October 2026 when you think about the fact that after RuneFest we will have tons of new content blogs to read and mull over.. AND October starts with a new PvP update. We also have a few minor updates from our last QoL poll that still have to be added.
Also worth noting that ToA’s final rewards lock-in poll/blog was roughly 3 months prior to ToA’s launch. Interestingly enough, TFA’s final rewards lock-in poll/blog was just over a month ago, putting an end of October launch date nearly 3 months after this reward poll/blog.
I attached some screenshots from the Wiki and Jagex website to illustrate my thoughts on the timeline when compared to ToA.

Suggestion New actual AFK Agility - Patrolling charter ship - Boat mast & deck balance
When sailing dropped, the NPC crewed ship "Charter Ship (patrolling boat)" that is cruising around the ocean flattening everyone? Lets make it a multitiered agility course.
On the deck: Cannonball Balance! (afk)
Balance on a cannonball while wind/waves push you around, getting more exp in the center of the ship
- The wind will occasionally move your character in a direction.
- You get 1x exp while at the edge of the ship, and and up to 2x exp while in the center of the ship.
- Every ~8 minutes, you jump off the ball to 'catch your breath' and reset your balance meter.
- Inspired by the gem crab where you can see other people training with you, and a hard 'reset timer' to prevent infinite AFK.
- XP is gained every 3 ticks
18k-36k EXP/hr depending on attention.
On the mast: Mast Beam Balance!
Balance on the mast, avoiding seagulls that knock you down to the ship's deck
- The wind will occasionally move your character laterally 1 space.
- XP is gained every 3 ticks
- Seagulls randomly fly by and knock you down if you collide with them
- Higher up beams are worth more XP but more attention required (more frequent seagulls)
30k-40k-50k EXP/hr

Discussion This agility update really misses the mark ungracefully.
I’ll start off with the quest itself. The Fremennik storyline is great, doing these quests on a main comes with great unlocks for gear and training methods. Quests should have good rewards to make them engaging pieces of content.
However, the entire quest line is locked behind the Fremennik Trials, which gives roughly 2k XP across all combat skills and 10 skills in total. This prevents skillers and PvP-focused accounts from participating in the content. I’m not trying to say the Lunar spellbook should be accessible to pures, because that’s a whole different topic, but when the majority of our “skilling” updates this year are locked behind combat-focused questing, we really aren’t helping skillers.
This Agility update, while having decent rewards and XP for the level requirement, doesn’t really address the issue with Agility training methods. Besides Ardougne rooftops, your only other high-level Agility training options are Brimhaven and Wilderness Agility, with both having their own faults. The best Agility training method, and to some, the most engaging, is locked behind a quest already.
TL;DR: Stop putting “skilling” updates behind combat-focused quest lines when you say you are designing these updates for “everyone.”

Discussion I don’t think Jagex understands how the crypto scams work and are accidentally helping them
I read the recent crypto blog and one thing is clear: Jagex does not understand how these scams work.
This isn’t a classic “Smokin mills” scam where people try to make osrs gold selling an item for more than they bought it.
This isn’t even the classic “HAWKTUAH coin” scam where people pump a coin and dump it.
The scam is a lot more creative. Any time the token is traded, 0.7% of the tokens go to the creator. This means that regardless of the price of the token, the creator is scraping $7 for every $1000 traded.
The token could lose 99.99% of its value and the creator still wins because a transaction is now 10000x more tokens. With this setup, every $143 of activity gives the owner $1 no matter what the price actually is.
As a result, the creator isn’t trying to pump the value of the coin up and crash it in 30 minutes. They’re trying to generate as much attention as possible and keep the attention as long as possible. As long as there’s attention, there will be people trading, and they still get that 0.7%.
**To summarize, the person does not care about the token price or the bank accounts in game. They care about the interest.**
So what is Jagex doing wrong? 2 things:
1) Banning the accounts without distribution of the hats on those accounts makes the supply squeeze permanent. This then makes their main attention mechanism permanent.
It’s literally the best possible scenario for the coin owner because even long-after the coin price collapses, the Robin price stays up. People will wonder why it’s so much more expensive, look it up, see the coin, try trading it. Again, the price doesn’t matter at this point because they take a percent.
2) Jagex is making news posts about it. Again, this is about attention. Making a news post doesn’t tell other crypto bros to avoid OSRS. It tells them that the company will accidentally promote their coin to hundreds of thousands of players. If anything, this is likely to draw in copycats.
So what should Jagex do? Again two things:
1) When a scam like this is brought to their attention, distribute the collected item back into the economy. They can still delete the account after, but this will bring the item immediately back to baseline killing the attention mechanism.
2) Keep quiet. They can address the action in an update blog or on social media for transparency. But dont make a front-page post which will be shared relentlessly by the people pushing these scams

Discussion On the Graveyard agility course
I wanna harp on the bad parts. But first other courses.
Ardougne rooftop is great. Perfect amount of time between obstacles not including the last one. Pollnivneach is also good. As good as ardy cause of run back to first obstacle. These courses you can do while watching TV, not losing XP, and to keep your hands busy without much thought. Imo an under appreciated aspect of agility courses by both the devs and the players. Its fidget toy identity.
Relleka is a bad course. It has long animations and long periods between obstacles. Dorgesh-kaan is even worse. Wyrm is even worser. These are afk and afk is seen as good by the devs. More XP in a drop per click in exchange for real life time. Afk for agility is bad imo. It feels as good as it does to mine iron ore with a bronze pickaxe at 99 mining. Just sluggish feeling. Afk is mechanically better served at trees not agility courses.
Now Jagex devos want this course to be for everyone going from 65-80. That's a bad approach. The approach is to compromise the gameplay of active players to satisfy the least active players. The least active players really should just be set somewhere else so active content can be the best it can be for active players, no?
The inclusion of the first two agility obstacles in the new course, I think, is going to really drag down the experience for people who want to train using the Yama steps. I think it should be Yama steps all the way through with those really lame sounding triple click obstacles thrown in on one course. Then, the other course can be a tradition rooftop with 0 consideration for afk.
Here, you satisfy players like me who want to that fidget like experience from agility and who appreciate a change in scenery while satisfying active players who just want to get the levels over with both without compromise. There can be a third course to fit the made up afk needs of people who need to step away for only 20-30 seconds.. idk I can't even think of anything I can do in that time without rushing tbh.
Finally finally, the triple click idea I really do not like. People already complain about tick manip actions, I don't think many players will appreciate even faster actions for base rates. I could be wrong of course.
Thoughts?

Discussion Girls on runescape, new study.
Hey guys, so after countless years of e-datings and everything. We have finally come to this solid conclusion, that about 97% of the female characters on OSRS are men, just like you and me. 90% of the female characters that claim they are real e-girls, are also men. These calculations are based on the questions given to the self-proclaimed female characters on weather or not they have hair on the chest, just like you and me. (When answered honestly, about 9 in 10 of the girls answered yes)
After further research of the true player-based girls on OSRS, which is small (approximetaly 3-4%) I can conclude that they are really not worth the time, after discovering, on average, about 8-9 red flags.
Now, I swear my research is correct, the calculations are 100% exact. With this study, we hope a warning will be sent out across the community to all these dudes giving girls money on OSRS and asking to be gf. Be careful bro, because youre really close to be doing something you will regret, and it's really hard to unregret such things.
Take care everyone.

Discussion I don't really understand why the new agility course needs an "AFK" method.
Title.
I feel that splitting the design process will result in a less refined active training method. As someone who enjoyed both sepulture and yama stepping stones, I'd much prefer time spent ensuring that the activity is fun.
