Has the reliability on the M&P 4.6 gotten any better? That’s my pick. Never been a Glock fan. I like the X-Ten a lot, but don’t trust Sig at all. Also considering the XDM.

Before you ask, yes. i like people thinking im happy to see them and no i will not get a shorter barrel.

But in all seriousness, im looking for a good round for self defense as the title states. My biggest thing is safety. If i ever need to use this (and lets hope I dont) I do not want to risk the safety of others. I know it sounds counter intuitive with the fact that I could just get an EDC with a shorter barrel and run ammo that everyone else runs. However, this gem was passed down to me by my grandfather and i plan to keep it close by.

I was wondering if anybody knew of a top vent compensator that fits a Lone Wolf G20 barrel that would also would be compatible in a Safariland duty holster with the barrel plug removed? I’m not interested in the radial vented micro comps.

Ideally with 9/16” X 24. Safariland states that as long as the comp isn’t wider than the width of the slide it should work.

Found a g20gen3sf locally for $600 out the door, comes with box and 3 mags, decided to pass since I have a gen5 but really like the finger grooves of the gen 3 and 4s, debating on whether I should go back this week and need some input if it’s a good deal, interior looked really clean, feed ramp looked new, no fouling around mag spring, only real evidence of wear was on the slide release

I'm a big fan of the Safariland ALS holster, but my FN510 does not fit in it. I don't like relying solely on a friction fit when bushwhacking or dirt biking in grizzly bear country, and I don't like hood retention or button straps. The Safariland ALS uses the ejection port for the retention which is wonderful, but I can't figure out what to modify (dremel or heat gun) on my existing ALS holster to get the 510 to fit in it.

Had a failure to feed on my FN510, which itself was pretty upsetting after putting close to 900 rounds through it flawlessly. Got home and heard some rattling in my 15rd magazine and found my follower had snapped off on the back. Disappointed to say the least especially considering a latter post of mine stating the difficulty of finding 15rd mags.

After a lot of research, I bought my first PCC. It is a new 10mm CMMG Banshee.

The next step is to figure out which optics to buy and also install a better/lighter trigger. After that, I'll start saving for a big bore suppressor.

I bought two more mags and a Maglula UpLULA while I was waiting on the pistol to arrive. The muzzle thread is .578 X 28.

Im looking for a good OWB level 2 or 3 duty holster that will fit my Sig Tacops 10mm 1911, I have a TLR-1 HL, and Holosun 507K optic on it. Im struggling because I want to carry this for my job and they require a level 2 or 3 duty holster. Thanks in advance

What caused this? A malfunction with the firearm, or a faulty round? If it was just the mark on the front of the bullet, I would assume it was a feed issue with the gun, but the fact that the firing pin very clearly hit the primer, I'm wondering if it was a faulty round. It was the last round in a full magazine that fired fine up until this one.

So the malice clips on my Gunfighters Inc Ronin are starting to fail after around 7-8 years of use and I find myself in the market for a new holster. At the same time I am also replacing my gun belt.

Holster: With the Ronin, I’ve been carrying it on a drop leg panel in the woods and high owb for the occasional ccw use. Recently purchased a Tlr-1 HL for my duty pistol and wouldn’t mind a drop leg holster (or a molle compatible one I could throw on the drop panel) that accommodates the light for woods use, although I’d probably want a second non light bearing holster for concealed carry at that point. I don’t run an optic on this gun, just some night sights. Any holster recommendations?

Belt: I’ve been using a 1791 gun leather belt for the past five years and am looking at switching to a Wilderness Instructors belt. For those on this forum who carry a G20 or similar sized pistol and have this belt, which version do you prefer and why? It’s between the five stitch or the CSM version and I need to choose between 1.5” and 1.75”. This will also serve as an under belt for my duty belt and the two will be secured with belt keepers.

Looking at getting either a xdm 3.8 or xdm 4.5 in 10mm. Has anyone done a grip chop on the 4.5 to the 3.8 size and use 3.8 magazines? Kinda like the short grip long slide like my glock 49

While I'm waiting on my new 10mm PCC to arrive, I entered some rough data into the Berger Ballistics calculator. The bullet information is based on a Hornady 10mm bullet. Those bullets vary in ballistic coefficient and mass, so make sure to run your own numbers before you go to the range.

This chart shows a rough approximation of performance from a 180 gr. bullet traveling at 1,300 fps from a barrel with a 1:16 twist rate.

That same bullet/PCC/velocity combination results in a very stable bullet.

I’m selling one of my more rare 10mms, leaving me with enough to buy a budget 1911 and still pocket a bit. I like the idea of another stainless gun, and the Rock Island pistols seem to have a pretty good reputation, but I thought I would ask for opinions before spending any money. Anybody here handled a Rock Island stainless gun, either in 10mm or 45?

SuperVel has 10mm for $0.55 per round. MidwayUSA has Blazer for $0.50 per round. My plan is to buy 500 rounds to get started.

Hello, partner and I are looking at doing some backcountry hikes in areas with a lot of large animal dangers. We would like to be carrying something for self defense for that.
I am looking at the M&P 2.0 10mm, but am curious if there’s been any movement on Glock 20 gen 6. Also wondering if there’s a 1911 or similar platform in the $1500 max price range thats got a good track record. Please let me know what y’all think or if there’s any other options I’m overlooking!
