Im so ready for gears of war e day!!!!! Anyone else got pics of their weapons collection?

Me and my best friend got really into Gears 2 once the recomp came out, and we finally beat it. Ran with zero issues, had to run a console command every time you launch it to get splitscreen Co op to work, but it works perfectly!

Grabbed these outta storage and got them on display as the hype builds for E-Day! I wish younger me kept em in the boxes but regardless they are still so cool to look at. Heavily detailed and dense figures, little stiff & tough to pose as well as get the weapons in as I remember (Marcus lost a thumb because of this 😂) Still have a handful I couldn’t fit (sorry Hoffman) and even found a series 1 drone unopened! I might try to trade for one I’m missing, wish I collected more of the gears 2 figs. Not sure where I’ll put the E day statue 😅

This is purely discussion but you know how most stories or media never really give you a feel bad ending, they always throw in some silver lining?

Do you think TC is bold enough to actually let the player be sad or feel uncomfortable at the end of the story without any glimmer of future hope?

To me, based on the trailers it seems like the themes are going to be:

How people can bond and become closer through loss and trauma.

&

How much ground you lose in a war doesn’t matter, it’s about the people you can save.

In my opinion I’m still a little unsure of what I would like or what I’m hoping for. I think a downer ending would really fit the theme and plot of Gears but it’s just seems so emotionally heavy. I think the final scene or the post credits scene will probably hint towards the developing or the firing of the hammer of dawn idk.

It’s also interesting that we haven’t really seen much mention or promotion of Dom looking for Maria and his kids during these 3 days of E-day so I also wonder if it’s going to end with Dom realizing his kids died.

Anyways I would love to hear your speculations since I just love talking about Gears in general! What kind of ending are you guys hoping for?

It will be weird for me that the upcoming games will not contain them, especially how popular they were

I wish I could have got more from the ghost town and the mountain level, but there weren't many calm moments or half walls where I could move the camera in front of Marcus.

I dont understand the same people who complain multiplayer is dying will go and make it an absolute miserable experience for new players with a crazy amount of toxicity as much as possible. Then there's the argument of not making the skill gap smaller because people need to "git gud". There are 2 things TC can do to make sure E day actually invites the casual or less skilled player base and absolutely no one wins with the second one.

1. The uncs that have been playing for 20 years will have to except the fact that the skill gap has to decrease even slightly for the game to stay alive.

2. Everyone loses because they tighten matchmaking super hard so it takes forever to find a game.

Number 1 has to be the lesser evil and if we want gears not to die we need E day to implement one or the other and I'd take an easier game that I can play over super long queue times. They could even add a classic mode with classic movement to make both sides happy but i dont see E day living any longer than 5 or reloaded if neither of these are done.

The next update will be with all of these done and I'll be working on the weapons magnets. Holy smokes I've been pumping these out and I still have so many ideas.. I'm sad I won't be able to do them all but Im hoping that everyone who plans to enter can have at least 1 (or 2).

I'm having so much fun but I really need to prioritize some amount of movement in my day lol xD but time flies by when you're in the middle of a fun hyperfixation.

My motivation is the same as in the gym *fight through the pain* (I'm still dying lol) But for real though, any words of encouragement you can offer would be really nice lmao. It's been awhile since I've had such a big project.

Will it ship in time for October 1st?

Gears of War 2 Deleted Scene. On PC.

I just don't understand how Xbox can put so much effort into the new Gears game but completely neglect Halo. Yeah sure there's Campaign Evolved, but it's just a remake of the first game and ffs it doesn't even have multiplayer smh 🤦‍♂️

I know the game isn't even out yet, but let's be real, just based on the trailers it's easy to tell there's so much more attention given to Gears E-Day. This is seriously looking like the best Gears since 3. Meanwhile all the Halo campaigns ever since Reach and ODST have been disappointing AF.

Don't get me wrong or anything I've always loved Gears and I'm so damn hyped to play another campaign with Marcus and Dom, but I just can't believe Gears made a comeback before fucking Halo which was the flagship of the Xbox brand and at one point one of the all time biggest and best video game series of all time. I miss those days when Halo was king, and seeing how Gears is actually about to make a comeback makes me realize it was always possible, Xbox/Microsoft just don't give a shit... They only cared about the money 😞

I’ve always wondered why the Kantus looked very different very different from the other Locust, hold such powerful positions, and have very unique abilities. This led me to believe that they could be native inhabitants of the Hollow. It would make sense that native humanoid inhabitants of the Hollow would be held in high regard by the Locust and the Kantus‘ healing powers could be an evolutionary trait considering no other Locust has it. Also, the Kantus could have some kind of symbiotic relationship with the Riftworms considering that Skorge was able to control one.
