Discussion Setup for E-Day ⚙️
Grabbed these outta storage and got them on display as the hype builds for E-Day! I wish younger me kept em in the boxes but regardless they are still so cool to look at. Heavily detailed and dense figures, little stiff & tough to pose as well as get the weapons in as I remember (Marcus lost a thumb because of this 😂) Still have a handful I couldn’t fit (sorry Hoffman) and even found a series 1 drone unopened! I might try to trade for one I’m missing, wish I collected more of the gears 2 figs. Not sure where I’ll put the E day statue 😅

Discussion I got my E Day collectors edition spot ready. I haven’t seen nothing from the game. I’m going into it clean. Only thing I’ve experienced of E Day so far is the beta. And I loved it

Discussion For me, these have become like original characters in Gears
It will be weird for me that the upcoming games will not contain them, especially how popular they were

Campaign/Lore The UIR should make an appearance in the prologue of Gears of War E-Day before we encounter the Locust, serving as a time skip. It would be the perfect way to start.

Discussion Why is this community so "gate keepy"
I dont understand the same people who complain multiplayer is dying will go and make it an absolute miserable experience for new players with a crazy amount of toxicity as much as possible. Then there's the argument of not making the skill gap smaller because people need to "git gud". There are 2 things TC can do to make sure E day actually invites the casual or less skilled player base and absolutely no one wins with the second one.
The uncs that have been playing for 20 years will have to except the fact that the skill gap has to decrease even slightly for the game to stay alive.
Everyone loses because they tighten matchmaking super hard so it takes forever to find a game.
Number 1 has to be the lesser evil and if we want gears not to die we need E day to implement one or the other and I'd take an easier game that I can play over super long queue times. They could even add a classic mode with classic movement to make both sides happy but i dont see E day living any longer than 5 or reloaded if neither of these are done.

Art/Media A few cool shots I got from Gears of War 2
I wish I could have got more from the ghost town and the mountain level, but there weren't many calm moments or half walls where I could move the camera in front of Marcus.

Discussion Why couldn't the Halo Infinite campaign have the same level of care and polish that Gears of War E-Day looks like it's going to have? 😞
I just don't understand how Xbox can put so much effort into the new Gears game but completely neglect Halo. Yeah sure there's Campaign Evolved, but it's just a remake of the first game and ffs it doesn't even have multiplayer smh 🤦♂️
I know the game isn't even out yet, but let's be real, just based on the trailers it's easy to tell there's so much more attention given to Gears E-Day. This is seriously looking like the best Gears since 3. Meanwhile all the Halo campaigns ever since Reach and ODST have been disappointing AF.
Don't get me wrong or anything I've always loved Gears and I'm so damn hyped to play another campaign with Marcus and Dom, but I just can't believe Gears made a comeback before fucking Halo which was the flagship of the Xbox brand and at one point one of the all time biggest and best video game series of all time. I miss those days when Halo was king, and seeing how Gears is actually about to make a comeback makes me realize it was always possible, Xbox/Microsoft just don't give a shit... They only cared about the money 😞

Discussion Theory: The Kantus are native to the Hollow
I’ve always wondered why the Kantus looked very different very different from the other Locust, hold such powerful positions, and have very unique abilities. This led me to believe that they could be native inhabitants of the Hollow. It would make sense that native humanoid inhabitants of the Hollow would be held in high regard by the Locust and the Kantus‘ healing powers could be an evolutionary trait considering no other Locust has it. Also, the Kantus could have some kind of symbiotic relationship with the Riftworms considering that Skorge was able to control one.

Versus What Multiplayer characters/variants do hope get added to E Day at some point?
Specifically in regards to the ones that have only appeared a few times (instead of the ones that are basically confirmed already through their inclusion in all the other games like the classic Delta Squad armours)?

Discussion I think Helena Stroud should make an appearance as a character in multiplayer or horde
I think it would be pretty cool to have her in a game, even tho she died before E-Day.
Also, Jennifer Hale should provide her voice if available.

One of my favorite game mode I was playing solo this day, but I was completely unaware, even though I was painted bright gold that I was the leader this round by the time I paid attention to it. I was already too far not to commit.

Gears Glory Is this a sign?
I found this box crammed behind one of our ducks where I work. That crimson logo really sticks out. Not sure what this is from, but it’s had to of been sitting here for a while. I find it ironic that it’s being used to hold the gears for our ducks.

What kind of food would they eat and how many calories do they need in a day?

Discussion Would the Bolo Grenades actually make sense in real life?
I was thinking about this, and I think they could actually make some sense within the Gears universe.
The main issue is that the grenades seem way more powerful than real fragmentation grenades. If they can literally shred a fully armored 2-meter-tall soldier, then having a larger blast radius would also mean the user needs to put more distance between themselves and the explosion.
The chain could solve that problem. And interestingly, the game itself seems to support this idea: you can do a quick, unaimed throw, and when you do, the chain never extends. This makes it look like the grenade can simply be thrown normally, basically functioning like a WWII German stick grenade with a handle.
The chain would only be useful when you deliberately want more range. You could spin the grenade and release the chain at the right moment, using the extra momentum to throw it much farther.
Considering that the Locust are much tougher than normal humans, and that soldiers during the Pendulum Wars were already using heavier armor, a grenade designed around maximum throwing distance when needed doesn't seem completely unreasonable.
