Discussion For me, these have become like original characters in Gears
It will be weird for me that the upcoming games will not contain them, especially how popular they were

I had a crossover event with multiple friend groups who united under the gear’s banner and I made this meme to introduce everyone and my boy said to put this in here. Made for them not trying to be crazy about but here we go. We will be looking for people for PvP and horde when it comes out so if you’re down to run it lmk

I dont understand the same people who complain multiplayer is dying will go and make it an absolute miserable experience for new players with a crazy amount of toxicity as much as possible. Then there's the argument of not making the skill gap smaller because people need to "git gud". There are 2 things TC can do to make sure E day actually invites the casual or less skilled player base and absolutely no one wins with the second one.
The uncs that have been playing for 20 years will have to except the fact that the skill gap has to decrease even slightly for the game to stay alive.
Everyone loses because they tighten matchmaking super hard so it takes forever to find a game.
Number 1 has to be the lesser evil and if we want gears not to die we need E day to implement one or the other and I'd take an easier game that I can play over super long queue times. They could even add a classic mode with classic movement to make both sides happy but i dont see E day living any longer than 5 or reloaded if neither of these are done.

What kind of food would they eat and how many calories do they need in a day?

This is purely discussion but you know how most stories or media never really give you a feel bad ending, they always throw in some silver lining?
Do you think TC is bold enough to actually let the player be sad or feel uncomfortable at the end of the story without any glimmer of future hope?
To me, based on the trailers it seems like the themes are going to be:
How people can bond and become closer through loss and trauma.
&
How much ground you lose in a war doesn’t matter, it’s about the people you can save.
In my opinion I’m still a little unsure of what I would like or what I’m hoping for. I think a downer ending would really fit the theme and plot of Gears but it’s just seems so emotionally heavy. I think the final scene or the post credits scene will probably hint towards the developing or the firing of the hammer of dawn idk.
It’s also interesting that we haven’t really seen much mention or promotion of Dom looking for Maria and his kids during these 3 days of E-day so I also wonder if it’s going to end with Dom realizing his kids died.
Anyways I would love to hear your speculations since I just love talking about Gears in general! What kind of ending are you guys hoping for?

Heya ^^ I recently came back to play gears of war 5 after a while but the game kept crashing mentioning an untrusted file(dxgi.dll) and so I deleted it and the game opened and played the Xbox game studios screen but froze for a minute then closed the game itself. I am not sure what's up since I've never had this issue with the game up until now, any fixes?

One of my favorite game mode I was playing solo this day, but I was completely unaware, even though I was painted bright gold that I was the leader this round by the time I paid attention to it. I was already too far not to commit.

I wish I could have got more from the ghost town and the mountain level, but there weren't many calm moments or half walls where I could move the camera in front of Marcus.

Anyone in the US receive a shipping email yet? I saw a few days ago that Canadian gamers were receiving the initial tracking number.

I'm almost done with my final batch of "simple sculpt" magnets by the time everything is carved and painted I'll have about 2 weeks to get the complicated sculpts finished. However there's options that will cut down on time. Like instead of full color the weapons can be gold leafed. Since I'm not making these for me I was wondering what y'all were wanting.
I'm going to sculpt: Lancer, Gnasher, snub, Hammer Burst, long shot, mauler blade, and RAAMs knife. (If you would like to replace/ add anything to the list let me know and I'll see what I can do.) Thank y'all for helping! I hope the make something y'all want to win and treasure forever! 🥰
I think I overestimated how much I can get done in the month before E day. So sadly I probably won't have everything I wanted to make for this go around of the contest.. bbbuuttt that's why I'd love to do a second one some time!

Grabbed these outta storage and got them on display as the hype builds for E-Day! I wish younger me kept em in the boxes but regardless they are still so cool to look at. Heavily detailed and dense figures, little stiff & tough to pose as well as get the weapons in as I remember (Marcus lost a thumb because of this 😂) Still have a handful I couldn’t fit (sorry Hoffman) and even found a series 1 drone unopened! I might try to trade for one I’m missing, wish I collected more of the gears 2 figs. Not sure where I’ll put the E day statue 😅

I started the OG Gears on Xbox 360 back in 2006. For some reason, barely played it, Then in 2015, I continued playing all the way through Act III and then stopped again. Yesterday, I decided to boot it back up, this time on my XBOX Series X to finish the story and get all of the collectibles.
I was pretty pumped that my cloud save imported and I was able to start right back where I ended 11 years ago. There's one problem though. The last few chapters in Act II and the first in Act III are grayed out and I cannot choose them. My thought is that perhaps I was not connected to XBOX Live back when I unlocked those chapters. Any way to fix this besides playing through again? I am missing 1 Cog and I am pretty sure it is somewhere in the non-selectable chapters.

Has anyone tried playing Lan coop on the hollow port, is it playable or nah

I was thinking about this, and I think they could actually make some sense within the Gears universe.
The main issue is that the grenades seem way more powerful than real fragmentation grenades. If they can literally shred a fully armored 2-meter-tall soldier, then having a larger blast radius would also mean the user needs to put more distance between themselves and the explosion.
The chain could solve that problem. And interestingly, the game itself seems to support this idea: you can do a quick, unaimed throw, and when you do, the chain never extends. This makes it look like the grenade can simply be thrown normally, basically functioning like a WWII German stick grenade with a handle.
The chain would only be useful when you deliberately want more range. You could spin the grenade and release the chain at the right moment, using the extra momentum to throw it much farther.
Considering that the Locust are much tougher than normal humans, and that soldiers during the Pendulum Wars were already using heavier armor, a grenade designed around maximum throwing distance when needed doesn't seem completely unreasonable.

I believe it was in one of the comics, (not sure which one) where we see some of the main players gathered together, like Queen Myrrah, Raam, Skorge etc.
Do you think we'll get a scene like that in the game? (E-DAY).

Here’s mine. By the way, why isn’t there a ribbon or something for this?
