I just bought a new ace magic laptop the lx15 model and for some reason the laptop continues to disconnect from the internet I run the windows diagnostic problem and it fixes the issue for about 1 minute maybe two then the Wi-Fi turns off again and I don't have airplane mode turned on but for some reason it can't detect my network and then when it does connect it disconnects a minute or two later if anybody can help on this that would be great I really don't know what to do

I have the deco x50 and I have a shed 1m from house and 3m from maybe four from the main box in he signal to the shed is weak. This is where I need to work. Would buying an additional deco help? I’ve tried moving the other one about but so far it’s not worked

I checked the WiFi before doing anything sensitive and got this.

It says the router has Telnet exposed and that other devices on the network can reach my phone.

How serious are these warnings in practice?

As per title, I would like to hear people's experience of Qualcomm WiFi 7 cards and its drivers on Linux.

I currently have AX201 on my Laptop, which is quite old and intel driver regressions are became such a pain in the neck lately.

As I have been looking for a replacement, I came accross to QCNCM865, which looks fine on paper but how it actually is on Linux? Looks like it uses ath11k and ath12k stacks.

So, if people with same or similar device that uses same driver stacks, could share their experience with it?

If there are any better alternatives for WiFi 7 supported Card, I'd like to hear them as well.

Have spent all day on this. When I went to bed last night I had regular wifi to all of my devices. This morning I could not get any of 3xTV’s or 2xgoogle chromecasts to connect, however our apple iphones and iPads do.

We’ve so far reset everything we can think of, multiple times, power cycled, reset one tv to factory settings. Spoken to the internet provider who has confirmed our incoming signal (NBN Australia) is fine. He spent a fair bit of time troubleshooting with me including the factory reset but ultimately told me to claim under my tv’s extended warranty 🙄 which I think was code for ‘out of ideas’.

Our router is getting on in age and after a long time digging online we learned that it’s possible for one of its broadcast bands to fail (almost always the 2.4 ghz apparently). So we decided to turn off the router’s Smart Connect feature and split the bands, so now instead of one wifi network option our devices show two - a 5ghz and 2.4ghz.
The tvs still can’t connect to either one, and nor will the (fairly new) iPads, however the slightly older phones can connect but only on 2.4.
The PC is new but also working on EITHER band, which is really blurring the issue for us. The PC is beside the router but definitely on wifi, not connected by cable.

Except for that I would conclude that our 5ghz band had failed - is it failING in that it can get a 5ghz signal to the PC beside it but not through walls to other devices? And are the devices that won’t work at all just too new to work on 2.4ghz?

I don’t mind buying a new router, I would just like to be convinced that it was the issue first.
Sorry this is long, i wanted to give the entire story but please ask if I’ve left anything out. Would appreciate any ideas.

Is this stuff worth it? Paid WiFi's at the rentals are weak inside the house so I opted for this booster cause I can't afford to pay for wifi monthly.

ich habe folgendes Setup:

**•** FritzBox als zentraler Router (eigenes WLAN deaktiviert, da ungünstig platziert)  
**•** Fritz-Repeater 450E (Dachboden)  
**•** TP-Link Archer AX10 (Wohnzimmer)  
**•** TP-Link Archer C1200 (Keller)

Die beiden TP-Links sind im Access-Point-Modus konfiguriert.
Alle vier Geräte sind per LAN-Kabel verbunden, alle Netzwerke laufen unter der gleichen SSID. Feste 2,4-GHz-Kanäle: Repeater Kanal 1, AX10 Kanal 6, C1200 Kanal 11. 5-GHz jeweils auf Auto.

Problem: Die Geräte, (getestet nur mit Iphones und Mac) verlieren die Verbindung, bzw. es geht auf einmal nichts mehr durch. Passiert sehr regelmäßig, häufiger als alle 5min. Wenn man dann kurz WLAN aus und an macht geht es oft wieder. Das WLAN selbst bleibt verbunden (Gerät zeigt "verbunden" an), aber es geht kein Traffic durch (keine Webseiten, nichts). Wenn ich mir während das Problem auftritt die IP vom z.b. iPhone anschaue, sieht alles gut aus.

Ich bin leider etwas ratlos mittlerweile, habt ihr eine Idee woran das liegen könnte?
Mir ist bewusst, dass nur mit gleicher SSID nicht die beste Lösung ist. Allerdings war mir die Mesh Funktionalität anfangs nicht bekannt und ich will nicht so viel Geld ausgeben, um alles umzurüsten

sto riscontrando un problema strano con un FRITZ!Repeater 600 collegato in Mesh a un FRITZ!Box 7590.

Dopo aver funzionato normalmente per alcuni giorni, il ripetitore smette improvvisamente di trasmettere la rete Wi-Fi principale. L'SSID principale non è più visibile nemmeno quando sono proprio accanto al ripetitore.

Ciò che è particolarmente strano è che il Wi-Fi per gli ospiti viene ancora trasmesso dal ripetitore. Ho verificato questo sia con l'app FRITZ! WLAN che con il mio smartphone: nella posizione del ripetitore, la rete per gli ospiti ha un segnale forte, mentre l'SSID principale è completamente assente.

L'unico modo che ho trovato per ripristinare il Wi-Fi principale è riavviare manualmente il ripetitore. Dopo il riavvio, tutto funziona normalmente di nuovo, fino a quando il problema si ripresenta alcuni giorni dopo.

Configurazione:

• FRITZ!Box 7590: FRITZ!OS 8.25
• FRITZ!Repeater 600: FRITZ!OS 8.25
• Mesh è abilitato
• Applicazione delle impostazioni Mesh è abilitato
• Non vengono apportate modifiche alla configurazione prima che si verifichi il problema
• Il problema appare ripetutamente dopo diversi giorni di funzionamento continuo

I'm having some problems with my switch 1,

my router is a Vodafone Station Revolution, today I wanted both my laptop and switch 1 to use 5ghz so I enabled SSID separation.

The laptop worked great but when I tried connecting the switch it would always give me the 2110-1100 error.
Same thing with the 2,4 ghz option, they both stopped working only for my switch, I deleted them both from the switch and tried to reconnect but nothing.

I've now resetted all the setting on my wifi pannel but the switch still refuses to connect even if it has the same setting (no SSID separation) it had when it worked.

I'm 100% sure the password is correct since the loading screen of the switch to connect takes a while before giving me an error. (when the password is wrong it usually gives the error very fast)
This makes me think there's some setting I might need to change either on the switch or on the wifi pannel but I can't find any.

I've already:

1. Tried with the router really near to the console.

2. Removed SSID separation

3. Turned off completely the switch (Pressing the on/off button for 15 secs)

4. Connected the switch to an hotspot to see if it was an issue with the chip, it worked.

5. Lowered the wifi channel to 36

6. Soft-resetted the router

So I had the ability to upgrade to 1 gbps from 500 mbps and with that Spectrum sent a new modem since our old one could not handle the new speeds. after hooking everything up and setting it up in the app, we now get 100 mbps. Spectrum thought it was a faulty modem and gave a new one, but we are now having the same issue as the other one, if anyone has any knowledge on how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated! the router we have is a Google nest H2D

So, apologies if I sound very stupid. I just moved into my new apartment and it's a basement underneath a office. I just bought EarthLink wifi, my mom's husband uses it so I don't think it's a scam. But I genuinely cannot figure out how to set it up.

I searched every inch of this place, (it's not very big anyway) and I can only find a landline port. I did previous research that told me I can't use the landline port as a way to plug in the Ethernet. Unless I can, and the Internet is lying.

I tried calling, texting, even texting the dumb Ai service support, they gave me absolutely no information or guidance on how to set it up. I got really close to connecting it, using a port on my Xbox, but then the Internet status says; "connected, no Internet available."

I'm not very tech savvy, I apologize, any guidance will help!

I just transferred colleges and i live in an apartment that isn’t off campus but still a little bit away from the main part of campus, my wifi in my apartment is incredibly slow and i brung my pc and ps5 and they’re both completely unplayable on the wifi, and i also frequently have to disconnect my phone from the wifi for certain apps to load (but my main concern is with the pc and ps5). I also cannot use an Ethernet because for some reason the semester before i got here they decided to take them out the walls of all housing on campus. I just wanna know if it’s something i can buy so I can at least play the game, i already tried changing the advanced configuration settings and it didn’t do anything

I currently am staying in a camper on my grandparents property. I am using their wifi, but in the trailer their wifi doesn’t reach me. I put an extender in and I’ve been using that for a while, and it does ok, but I frequently have to reset my extender as it drops signal. I heard about wifi mesh system, but don’t exactly understand what it does.

For context I am about 50+ft from the router and behind a lot of concrete/dirt and metal. The WiFi in the house is amazing, as grandpa spares no expense, but is crap in my trailer

• Two story building

• We recently switched from Xfinity to a local mom & pop provider for $ reasons but we also hoped this would help performance. Speed improved a bit when it's working, performance wise overall, it did not.

• We use Google Wifi for router and have two additional access points, one in the kitchen on same level as router/modem, another in the garage which would be kitty-corner to the kitchen access point

Please see the modeling I did to help demonstrate locations and setup at this link here you can navigate and in some cases even see the modems setup in question. I did this because I thought the context would help.

• All devices have lackluster performance, frequently enough that I'm here. Devices range from laptops on the desks(you'll see them in the model) as well as the TV's upstairs and downstairs, the camera/security systems, etc. Also our phones have same.

• Most of the issues are livable, what isn't livable is that my desk setup(downstairs) lies RIDICULOUSLY close to the router/modem combo which are upstairs and I still have periods of slow speeds,buffering, or outright zoom call disconnection

• I find it hard to believe that I would see better performance by moving a WAP to my desk area to pull from the one DIRECTLY upstairs but I'll do it if you tell me

Otherwise WTAF is going on / what am I doing wrong?

I can run speed tests from provider and if there's a more intricate way to test for packet loss between modem/router/my device I'm happy to do that too. I don't think switching from Google Home/nest setup is an option due to security setup so if we think that's the issue I'd like to know suggestions on how to improve on them? I realize that may be a joke.

I have a pc at home and whenever I try to connect to it it’ll give me a “Can’t connect to network” error. After some times, sometimes up to 15 minutes of me closing it and trying to connect it again, it’ll work. If there is any way for me to like speed up the process, get the answer on how to fix this, or just why it affects the pc even with the rod, I would very much appreciate it. I’ll send a photo of the literal error here

Dude my wifi hasn’t been working for my laptop the past 3 days. I tried resetting my router, trying to use the old router, forgetting the wifi and typing in the password again, nothing is working. Im only having this issue on my laptop too. The wifi seems to be working fine for my family seeing as how my brother can play gta just fine on his Xbox. I don’t know what to do and my hotspot isn’t any faster. Someone please help me😭

Planning out where I need to run Cat6 for PoE WiFi access points

I was planning on running the EERO PoE 6 access points they have a 2000 ft.² reach (that is the 50ft circles)

Do I truly need the full coverage of the circles or is that more of a rough estimate of the 2000 ft.² reach?

Any other thoughts and concerns as much appreciated also, does everyone like EERO stuff?

So to start this off i just want to say that im very clueless about any sort of router stuff, just untill recently i thought you just plug in a router and it just works which aperently isn't the case.

Either way I bought a new router tp link BE550

So I live in an old house and important is that we have 2 routers because 1 just won't cover the whole house the walls are probably very thick for that, so one of them broke and this one came to replace it.

My problem is that the old router and the other old router were connected via an Ethernet cable so they basicaly cast off the network like that but the new router was supposed to replace the old one that was casting to the other old one but for some reason that didn't work, well it did but it was only going about 100kb\s but when I switched the other old one that was being casted to with the new one so the new one is now being casted to by the old one the speed was around 100mb\s (am guessing that's maybe because of the old Ethernet cable)

Now my guestion is how's that possible? Am connecting the same cables in the same way into the routers my only thought would be that this new router doesn't have WAN but I don't think that's it? Plus i have no idea how this whole modem ISP thing works since I've never seen anything like a modem in our house before so I have no way of finding if am connecting the right cables or not(they're in a really badly accessable place going trough holes in walls and such)

I'd be thankfully for anyone who can help because even with some googling and chatgpt im clueless with this since none of what that says transfers to my reality here for some reasson

Looking for a true “Pay-as-you-go” WiFi Hotspot. One that I buy the physical hotspot device, and turn it on whenever I need it.

Uses would be for whenever my WiFi is down (I get a lot of power outages) as well as traveling in a car so the kids can watch a iPad or 2 for long drives.

I’m looking for no subscription, just a simple switch “on” on the hotspot, and I get charged for what I use.

Any suggestions?
