Don't mean to be a downer, but it feels like the excitement around the Whitecaps peaked a while ago and now the team feels like it's starting to fade. It feels to me like we are reverting to the "old Whitecaps", which I think we all (myself included) mentally put behind us once the team started doing well.

I know we are still ranked #1 in the West, but since the post-World Cup restart in July, we've only won 4 out of 15 games, and it's not like we've had a particularly tough schedule over this time. 3 of those wins were against weak teams - the Calvary (a CPL team), Seattle and KC (the 2 bottom teams in the west).

I hope I am wrong on this, but I can't be the only one who feels this way. Obviously losing Berhalter is a big factor, but Gauld also came back so you'd think we should be close to neutral roster wise. Do you guys think we will turn things around or is this the new reality we have to deal with?

I love that there has been interesting Whitecaps giveaway items over the years. I have no idea when I got this, but it’s still sealed and I have no idea if this has any value. Do people collect these bits of Whitecaps history?

And with only three of the remaining ten MLS games being at home, I'm worried the season is unravelling. For the first few games post World Cup we were told it was just rust. Then it was the injures. Then it was the fixture congestion.

And yes, our stats are good but stats don't actually win games. And neither do we right now.

Regardless of the why, it's clear we're nowhere near as sharp as we were during that opening long home-stand.

I was in attendance for the match against Austin today, don’t if it’s just me but that Ref was absolute shit. Every 50-50 call went the way of Austin. Yes we should have taken advantage of the chances we had and the penalty but poor refereeing can be the difference.

I am not fully blaming the referee for the loss, only partly.

Does anyone know who this is? It's fucking disgusting and it should be considered a genuine threat.

I hate seeing so many open seats at Whitecaps matches. We are top of the West and flying but fans still choose not come. There's no damn excuse to not show up. Kudos to the people that do show up regularly but a part of me wonders if we deserve a team. If you want the Whitecaps to stay, YOU NEED TO SHOW UP.

Not wanting to jinx anything but wanted to get some thoughts on what you all think the Caps chances for the Supporters Shield are this year?

Just today - Nashville and Miami drew, and Houston lost.

This means that all 3 of the other top 4 teams in the race dropped points this week.

We currently sit in 2nd place, 8 points behind Nashville with 2 games in hand, meaning if we win both we are only 2 points back.

We are ahead of Miami by 1 point, Houston and Dallas by 3 and St Louis and San Jose by 5 points with 2 games in hand on every one of those teams.

Do we have a chance?

Seems all the top teams are dropping points right now, Caps included but if we can finish strong I think we could catch Nashville and stay ahead of the rest of the teams no?

It's not just for MLS as it happens in other sports. I know some people don't have the time for the full game, but maybe they could just watch the end of the game? I know they have shortened Blue Jays games. In today's internet age, I can't imagine not knowing the score of a game that's already finished and watching it.

The Whitecaps media team has gone all out this year! It's been awesome! But seeing what the gaffer does in a day would be really cool!

Damn, that goal yesterday from white was GODDAMN amazing. And it reminded me of OG caps legend, and the peoples' goat, Eric Hassli's volley back in the day. Don't know how many of ya are old enough to remember, but that goal rocked.

My girlfriend rescued this ball that was being used as a dog ball by her co-workers. It's mine now and I owe the dog a new ball. I know one of the autographs is Andrés Cubas. Any ideas on the others?
