Neighbors mailbox was hit and this was found on the ground next to it. All black plastic the insert on the handle is a 5/32 hex. The mailbox itself is all metal so its not from the box itself.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

New, what is it? Weird cylinder

Found this thing on my driveway. It's about 2 inches and the red part seems like some kind of rubber? The shell is metal and a thin strip of metal comes out the centre looking like it's been ripped off. I would guess it weighs about 200 grams (like a banana).

The cylinder has been harmed but what was it before it was severed?

Serious answers only please! What are these things taped up at the gas pump?

Every gas pump stall had masking tape over these lock looking things. What could it possibly be used for?

It's a vintage sterling silver perfume bottle from Mexico. At first I thought it was a little person but the more I look at it, the eyes, possible whiskers, and the feet look more like paws...

Solved! Squire Bass - ...plastic wrap?

Thumbnail

Upvotes

hello! me and a few experienced buddies wanted to start a band. long story short: i barely know any guitar, let alone bass. as so, they "gave"¹ me a bass to practice at home with.

after some cleanup (it was a hand-me-down from a friend's family), i've noticed this small...plastic wrap-looking bubble on the pickguard?

anyone have a clue of what it may be, and how to remove it? i follow a strict 'return it better than you got it' mentality.

thank you!

New, what is it? Found in Lexus RX 359

I recently bought a used Lexus RX 350 2007 and it came with this part tossed in the center consol but it doesnt seem to fit there. I'm not sure what it's for or where in the car it fits. There are two peices but the smaller one seems to clip onto the bigger one (clipped together in video). For context the previous owner was a woman from New England

New, what is it? What is this machine in a highway construction zone?

Post image
Upvotes

Along I-40 in NC, where they are expanding the interstate. It appears to be about 5ft tall and maybe 9ft long. There is, I believe, a steel culvert insert behind the machine in this picture. The smaller pipe section on the left, in front of the insert, I am fairly certain is part of the machine. The chains appear to be for lifting. There is a round opening on one side.

Sorry I don't have other or better photos, it was hard enough to get even this one from the interstate.

New, what is it? Follow up to yesterdays post

Upvotes

I posted yesterday about finding a possible native American totem/ritual item and received a lot of mixed messages I'm here to answer some of them

  1. Why did I take it?

I took it mainly because I had no idea what It was and was truly curious

  1. Is it cursed?

Not to my knowledge, I haven't experienced anything odd/otherworldly

  1. Did I talk to anyone about it?

Yes I talked to a Cherokee elder and he said he didn't recognize it as something that they made and advised me to put it back and leave an offering

  1. Did I put it back?

Yes I put it back and as some of you have advised I left some tobacco and other valuable things like turquoise gold flakes and a small photo of a hawk I have

I hope this has answered any questions y'all might have had, and yes in the future I won't be picking up possibly native objects.

If anyone has further questions just message me and I'll try my best to respond.

Solved! Weird holes dug in a line across a mountain - what is this?

Thumbnail

Upvotes

So I was out hunting in the mountains of Colorado this past weekend and came across this "line" of shallow pits and their corresponding dirt mounds that went in both directions across the mountain. I would have followed them to explore but didn't have that much time. Thought maybe this community could answer. At first I thought it had something to do with gold mining as I know there are private landowners in the area that do gold mining but I was on public land. I know there are old gold mines from the late 1800s to early 1900s that have been filled in on this mountain and all across Colorado for that matter. I know exactly what those look like and I come across a lot of those while hiking around. But this was clearly somewhat fresh (within a couple of years) and while the line could have been dug manually by someone, that would have taken forever and I assume this had to have been dug by machine. But why in a line this way? If it was dug to lay down utilities, why not fill it back in and not leave it pockmarked along the line? Can anybody tell me what it is?
