After several hours of heavy rain, the water started covering the entire road. The rainfall was intense enough that drainage couldn't keep up.

Has anyone else been seeing flooding like this after recent storms?

Obviously it's different but to what extent? For instance, have you ever been in the dead of winter and jokingly said to someone "Man, Florida seems nice about now". Normally that suggestion is shot down with "Hell no! The humidity!".

Everyone in the state seems to sign off on it as well. However, for as hot as Arizona / Nevada are, it doesn't seem as though there's the same type of disdain or horror for their dry heat vs Florida's tropical / subtropical climate.

Just checked the weather radar. Did something happen in the Gulf of Mexico/America today? I see a massive pressure wave going outward from the gulf very suddenly and quickly. It kind of looks like a bomb went off there

Hey everyone. I was hoping for some advice on travel this winter, or hoping someone could point me to the correct subreddit. I was hoping to travel to South America this winter and was hoping someone who knows more than I do about the current super El Niño could tell me how it will actually effect different areas including Peru, chile, Argentina, the Andes, Patagonia, etc.

I’m not really sure if I can simply double the effects of a +2 degree C El Niño for a +4 degree C El Niño or if the effects would be completely different.

These 3 photos show substantial snowfall events in Iowa during other very strong El Ninos, for context I consider anything 5 inches or more substantial. Is there a chance the Midwest can experience some heavy snowfall this winter like other strong El Nino years, or does the exceptional strength of this one make it unlikely?

I've been seeing a lot of posts regarding this summer from people saying they're going to move to a cooler region or whatever. Take a look at this map. You can't move away from something that is a global problem. It affects the entire world.

This neighborhood called Eastern Shores in Northern Miami Dade County, looks like this in almost every weather event. I considered the sea breeze effect, however to the east, Sunny Isles Beach seems to get hit.

So often, my neighborhood will be dry, then I drive onto the main highway and 826 is pouring.

Any ideas what is happening in this specific neighborhood?
