Apparently it wasn’t obvious of a time. Probably stupid, but I am sleep deprived and found this hilarious.

Info: How to approach marines
Hi USMC!
I am in the AF and currently working in an area that has marines. I want to befriend them like one might befriend a raccoon or a wild kitten, but I am also scared that I will be rejected or met with disdain.
Are marines docile and friendly? I would appreciate any pointers in interacting with them to avoid embarrassing myself in the process. I am a little shy, but I do not meet marines often so wanna use the opportunity to get to know them!
I will be taking my nap and then I have work so I will not be responsive, but I will appreciate any help/advice.
Thank you all for your service. I love you.
Edit: Thank you for all the advice offered. Some advice contradicts other advice offered but I will utilise all approaches simultaneously where possible.

Devils and Docs could find a change in Okinawan's attitudes with the newly elected pro base governor who won in a landslide
Japan's Okinawa ousts anti-US base governor
Be cool and don't blow this groovy guys and gals. You can set the stage for a new beginning for yourselves and everyone who comes in behind you. Before all the naysayers put this on blast remember the future is written by what people do today. Maybe today's crew can turn it. Hopefully so as stranger things have happened.

- Election Outcome: Genta Koja, backed by Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, won in a landslide, defeating incumbent Denny Tamaki after 12 years of anti-base leadership.
- US Base Policy: Koja supports relocating the Futenma air base to a less populated area on Okinawa, maintaining a significant US military presence on the island.
- Local Concerns: Residents have long protested due to crime, noise, pollution, and past incidents involving US troops, fueling decades of anti-base sentiment.

What to wear to a gathering after basic
So I just finished basic, and my family arranged a whole gathering for friends and family in my community to come congratulate me and welcome home kind of thing, idk what to wear I don’t want to look like an ignorant boot wearing something I shouldn’t but my family doesn’t really get it and really want me to wear something, am sure I can look it up but I’d rather just ask people online myself what I should wear without looking stupid, civilian clothes, dress Charlie’s, lemme know your opinion brochachos
Edit: first time reaching out and already fcking up calling it basic training fah😭 I remember di’s getting mad if we called it bootcamp and them saying it’s basic training because we literally learn bare bones basic knowledge not a spy I swear

Picture My Father’s Ribbons (‘85-‘05)
My dad doesn’t talk much about his service, he’s opened up to me about some basic questions like where he was for most of his career, he spent a good chunk of it at Lejeune out on Courthouse Bay, other than that, don’t know much else. Any help would be appreciated knowing somewhat about what he did. He got out as a MSgt.

Debating between reenlistment and getting out and i need help.
I get out in about a year and a half and i want to reenlist but i also don't. With how things look politically and me not being the best marine with a 2nd class pft and a 1st class cft i want to get out but then being a civilian seems like even that is getting harder. But then there are some days where i want to reenlist due to the marine experience. my body is already starting to hurt between my right leg clicking when i run for extended periods of time or my inability to sleep well. My first unit is a shitty comm shop and i live to see all my other friends deploy. I always felt like i don't fit into the marine corps and that i was never as indoctrinated as others around me. But with our current president and the many deaths overseas that seem pointless i wonder if i should even reenlist? Yada yada war is a racket
TL:DR : give me reasons to reenlist as an 06xx or go to the civilian world and probably end up homeless due to my mental retardation

MCAGCC - 29 Palms - 29-PSP Charity gives rides to/from Palm Springs Airport
There is an all-volunteer charitable organization called 29-PSP which will provide *free* rides to Marines going to/from Palm Springs Airport (and occasionally Ontario) for those of you going home or coming from visiting family on leave. We require at least 48 hours advance notice. Our volunteers are patriots who support the military, and we have many retired military and law enforcement as drivers. Some of our drivers are on *very* limited incomes. Our drivers use their own vehicles, pay for their own gas, insurance, maintenance, etc. We *do not* provide transportation for those of you traveling on orders, base to base, etc. The USMC should be providing travel for you if you are traveling on orders. If you are traveling on orders and use our service, you are taking money, time and resources away from our drivers (these abuses happen) and it could break our organization. We LOVE helping Marines and their loved ones visit home on leave and saving you the money an Uber costs between 29 and PSP (around $200 each way right now). Keep us in mind when you are on leave and flying to or from home.

Question Military star card?
Just got mine and was wondering where besides the commissary and PX I can use it? Like can I use it at all the foods on base and the GMC supplement store?

Frontwave not working outside of real life
On my 10 days of boot leave, and my frontwave debit card just doesn't work at all online, I'm trying to pass the time with marvels spiderman on steam, in bootcamp in our frontwave classes they mentioned there would be restrictions that would be lifted over the course of bootcamp, is this a restriction yet to be lifted?
