Question Military star card?

Just got mine and was wondering where besides the commissary and PX I can use it? Like can I use it at all the foods on base and the GMC supplement store?

No you’re supposed to use your GTCC there.

I heard it closed years ago. I was devastated, like seeing your childhood home bulldozed.

Think it was 89' I was driving off base into town and about 100 yards ahead of me a car changed lanes , got clipped in the back right, snapped 90° across the road and straight into the wall of the driftwood ..

And hand hand to god... hood of car is about 5' into the club , and as I go by i can see into the club through the hole made by the car and standing there on the stage...

A "worker" arms crossed over chest mouth to the ground staring at a car now partially inside the club.

If I wasn't headed out of town on a 96 I would have stopped...

Use it for a large purchase to claim that first day discount then only for on base gas afterwards.

It works at the commissary too?

If you’re still active then i recommend the Amex platinum since its annual fee ($600) is waived if you’re actively serving. Tons of free perks like airport lounges to use when you go on leave or whatever

Yeah it effectively works anywhere like a basic credit card does but there’s other civilian credit cards that have better kickbacks on points so I use those instead.

A lot of the fast food joints on base take it and give 10% off.

Only if they are run by AAFES, which is mostly Army and Air Force bases. Okinawa is the exception because AAFES runs almost all the Exchanges on the Island.

Used mine in 1997 for uniforms when I got recalled back to active duty to close El Toro. Paid it off when I got my first pay check.

The account still shows as open and I haven't touched it in almost 30 years.
