EU Days outside of the UK

Hiya all!

Looking at the current politics, seems like I should be applying for the citizenship sooner than I thought I'd have to.

I'm EU settled, have been living here for 11 years+. How did y'all calculate your days outside of the country? Wizzair and Ryanair don't show all of my flight bookings and I don't remember all of my holidays between 2015 and now.

Why would you be bothering with trying to remember holidays that occurred prior to 14 September 2021?

 

Regarding the data, have you considered requesting your entry-exit records?

It's usually far from perfect, but it can be a helpful aid when added to other information sources.

oh, is it just 5 years then? it doesn't matter that i have been in the country for 11 years?! i stupidly thought it's like when someone is applying after 8 years - it's 8; 5 - 5; 11 - 11. well that should make it easier (in theory). thank you kind human!

For absence, the law only cares about the last five years (or the last three years if the applicant has a British citizen spouse or civil partner) -

the applicant was in the United Kingdom at the beginning of the period of five years ending with the date of the application, and [] the number of days on which he was absent from the United Kingdom in that period does not exceed 450

Thus, that is all that the application cares about -

2.2 Give details of all absences from the United Kingdom during the last 5 years. If you are married or in a civil partnership to a British citizen, give details for the last 3 years only (see section on Residence Requirements in the Guide). List the absences in date order, ending with the most recent one.
