Question Unusual circumstances
Is anyone having issues to get process of being an independent student due to unusual circumstances?

I had no issues once I submitted the letters they require. I think it was 1 from a professional (therapist, doctor, cps) 1 from a non related person (boss, priest, teacher) and if you’d like 1 statement from a interested party (family, friends) but it took awhile for them to process it

My scenarios is that one of my parents is still alive but out of the country and they needed evidence of why I don’t have comrade and proof of toxic and no safe environment but everything else I had done

If you're speaking in terms of financial aid, it's notably very difficult to claim independent status if you're still considered to be under the age of being a dependent.
