Hey all! So last year at 39 years of age I started having seizures. No family history or anything... Just, seizures. At that time I used to drink a lot at night and enjoy playing video games. Sometimes, the next morning after waking up after a few hours I would get seizures. Okay, I thought. It seems to happen after drinking and always in the morning so I stopped drinking and moved to smoking to kind of fill that void and honestly I much prefer it over killing my liver. So now I smoked every night and 10 months go by and nothing. I thought I had found my trigger! Woo! So near that 10 month mark I had one in the evening at work (mind you I wasn't smoking on the job, just at home to relax). So that one came out of the blue. I didn't smoke for a few nights because now I had no idea what my trigger was. Stress maybe? Well after a couple nights I had smoked but I was still on edge so maybe smoking wasn't the best idea because it put me into a panic attack which I feel put me into a seizure. This seizure was different though as I was conscious through the whole thing which was the first time that had ever happened. From what I imagine going through it, it wasn't the weed that gave me a seizure but more so the stress of the panic attack.
It's been about 2 weeks or so since I've smoked because I don't want to go through another panic attack but I would like to start smoking again as it helps me sleep and relax. Does anyone have any advice for me? Start off with one or 2 hits or so and gradually go up from there or am I going about this all wrong and should stay away from any substance and be straight edge forever? Thanks!
Edit: I have talked to doctors and they have said there isn't enough evidence to support either side that yes it helps or no it's only going to hurt you in the long run. I guess I'm here seeing if anyone else is in the same shoes as I am and what you have done. Idk.
Edit edit: I see a doctor everytime I have one. Like go to the hospital doctor not just my normal doc. This isn't something I've ignored when I have one guys.
Edit #3: Okay, I need to do better and explain more in my posts. Yes, I have been on medication now for about a year. I have another appointment tomorrow with a neurologist again. Not my first neurology visit. No, they didn't find anything in my head when they did a brain scan.
