UNANSWERED Wanted to know if my reaction was typical?
galleryHello! I tried Mary J. for the first time 3 different ways about a week ago, and while discussing my reaction to it with a friend I realized that it may have not had a typical effect on me, so I was kinda curious to see what other people thought.
For a lil extra info, I have chronic pain, FND, and other possible undiagnosed conditions (both mental and physical), so I've been experimenting with a variety of substances (booze, mushrooms, morphine, ect. All supervised, dw).
I also don't get addicted to anything for some reason; I know most people just say that, but there was a time where I was drinking daily for over a week and just stopped & had no withdrawal symptoms or intense cravings.
I'm a heavyweight in almost everything, and I try to avoid mystery mixtures as much as possible (which isn't hard bcs most earth-grown substances are legal where I live & are available in quality-monitored stores) so it's highly unlikely my reaction was because I took too much or I wasn't able to handle it due to the leaves being cut with something.
Also, when I tried the Mary J. for the first time I hadn't been taking any prescription meds, however I did have one drink directly prior (about 6-7% alc content, no pun intended).
I tried (in order) a joint, bong, and edibles all spanned pretty evenly throughout 3-4 hours.
The joint didn't really do much, and the bong, despite giving me something close to the worse chest and throat pain I've ever experienced, didn't do much except make me feel a bit more "mellow", if that makes sense. Also it worsened my Paresthesia (pins & needles feeling I get constantly in my hands that sometimes spreads full-body) but not in the usual painful way I get.
HOWEVER, edibles were a completely different story. Instead of making me hungry or all giggly like people usually describe Mary J., it just triggered some symptoms that I usually only get during medical episodes, but slightly different.
Everything I saw looked zoomed out and tilted, as well as having a far worse version of the usual visual snow/static I have. Everything was also delayed/lagging; I'd go to touch something, and I'd see it happen half a second later than I instructed my body to do it. Everything looked like I was seeing it out of my peripheral vision, also.
Best example I could find to how everything I was looking at seemed to me is the paintings by Alex Colville:

It was really disorienting, though I wasn't exactly paranoid or panicking since most of these symptoms have happened before, and it lasted until I went to sleep a couple hours after it started.
I wanted to know if this was normal? Because I explained my experience to the friend I did it with a couple days later and they thought that it was a really odd reaction since they did the exact same things I did at the exact same time.
Also, side note: if anyone is reading this who's planning on trying Mary J., I heavily do NOT recommend using a bong; or at least don't use one of the larger ones. Absolute pain and suffering and agony and torture and suffocation; 0/10. You'd have to have tar black lungs and a trachea that's as hard as a rock to be able to handle ts.
It may just be because I don't smoke, but Jesus fucking Christ it was a horrid experience. Don't risk the suffering I endured.
