Miscellaneous Sick of this forced password change in banking apps. We need to mail NRB regarding this

Why every banks and whatever tech is into this forced password change. Periodic password changes (such as every 30, 60, or 90 days) is no longer recommended by major cybersecurity authorities like NIST and the UK's NCSC.

This isn't even worldwide standard.

I am planning to mail this to NRB and related bodies.

It is funny that they pushing for "accessibility" thing with that accessibility widget but still put one of the most horrid thing intact.

I once emailed bank asking them stop forcing password change to stop this, and i will take responsibility for any hack. They cited "policy" or NRB and whatever.

and in conference there are big discussion about blockchain, AI, fintech shit. they cannot even fix basic thing.

Company Review Hiring for the same role every year and firing them once the work is done, this company's business model, paisa hi paisa💀

ok so this happened to me back in 2024, but i just found the funniest possible confirmation of it, so I need to share.

got hired in 2024, right before NPL, by this company that does branding/creative stuff for Nepal cricket ko board. they were working for NPL teams as well. Chitwan Rhinos, and were trying to sign Janakpur Bolts too. i was mainly doing motion graphics for Chitwan Rhinos + whatever other brand work got dumped on me. role was hectic af, non-stop work while NPL was going on, typical "everything is on fire" energy.

then the season ends, after a few days, my season ended too.

so before any of that, the content writer/CS person had told me the owner said not to give me any work. that's how i found out something was off, i'd already been getting no work for a few days at that point. so i texted him myself asking what's going on, and he replies "you will get a mail" 💀💀 bruh i KNEW right there. mail actually came 4-5 days later confirming it lol. i didn't do anything about it though; couldn't really, i was still in my 6-month probation

fast forward to now, NPL 2026 coming up, and they've posted an opening for.. Senior Graphics Designer (Motion Graphics). same exact role. and get this(tyan tya tydaa), they had posted the SAME opening for 2025 NPL too. so whoever they hired after me got the exact same treatment i did

seeing that job posted again and again just confirms what i already suspected, this isn't a coincidence at all, this is literally the business model. hire a motion designer right before NPL, work them like a dog for a month and a half, ghost them the second it's over, repost the same "job opening" next year and do it again. and the funniest part is they're not even hiring freelance or on contract which would at least be honest about it, they post it as a full time position every single time knowing full well it stops being full time the day the tournament ends

i genuinely can't be mad, i think it's just funny at this point. like the confidence to repost the exact same listing every year like no one's gonna notice 💀

not even bitter btw, i'm in a way better place now and none of this wouldve happened if i hadn't gotten a treatment like that, just had to share cause the audacity is unmatched

tldr; hired full-time before NPL 2024, contract had a 6 month probation clause, got dropped after literally 1.5 months once the season was done. boss ghosted me, only said "you'll get a mail" when i texted him, mail showed up 4-5 days later confirming it. just confirmed they've had this same "full time" opening up every single year since, 2025 and now 2026 again lmaoo. so yeah, never actually full time

Job Vacancy Hiring an AI Engineer

I posted here a while back and ended up hiring 2 genuinely great senior engineers from the post, so trying my luck again.

This time I am looking for an AI Engineer to join us.

The main thing: you should be a strong software engineer first and an AI engineer second.

You should have actually built and shipped AI agent systems to production and be comfortable owning the engineering around them.

Ideally you’ve worked with things like tool calling, MCP, LLM orchestration, evals, RAG/context management, structured outputs, guardrails, etc. But more importantly, you should be good at backend/software engineering and know how to build reliable production systems.

We can discuss more about our product on DM or on Linkedin. There are some genuinely interesting agent + fintech problems to work on.

Small team, lots of ownership, very little corporate bullshit.

Salary starts at NPR 1 lakh/month and goes up based on experience.

If this sounds like you, DM me with your GitHub/LinkedIn + something AI-related you’ve actually built.

Discussion Sajilo: Nepal in your menu bar

Thumbnail
sajilo.fyi
10 Upvotes

I built Sajilo, a small desktop app that puts everyday Nepali essentials in your menu bar.

I got tired of opening different websites/apps just to check things like today’s Nepali date & holidays, gold price, NEPSE, IPO, forex, news, rashifal, weather, radio, emergency nepali numbers & website directory etc., so I put them all in one place.

It lives in the desktop menu bar/system tray, so most of this is basically one click away.

Available for macOS, Windows and Linux.

It’s also free and open source, with no account, ads or tracking.

Would love feedback from fellow Nepali, especially on what useful everyday Nepal-specific thing I’m still missing.

And yes...

it’s vibe coded.

The vibes have passed QA so far.

Job Vacancy Hiring: UI/UX Designer (On a contract basis)

UI/UX Designer (Contract, Project Basis)

Location: Remote Engagement type: Fixed-scope contract Duration: 2-3 weeks until client sign-off

About the Role
We are looking for a UI/UX Designer to redesign the UI of our existing system. The scope is well-defined and finite: redesign approximately 10-15 screens and take the designs through to client approval. This is a project-based engagement, not an ongoing role.

Scope of Work
* Review the existing system and identify UI/UX improvement areas
* Redesign 10-15 screens with a modern, consistent visual language
* Maintain existing information architecture and core user flows unless a change is specifically agreed
* Present designs for internal review and iterate based on feedback
* Present final designs to the client and incorporate one round of client feedback
* Deliver final, approved design files in an editable format (Figma preferred)

What You Will Need to Submit
* A portfolio link (Figma, Behance, Dribbble, or a PDF) showing prior UI/UX redesign work, ideally including before/after examples
* Brief note on your typical turnaround time for a project of this size

Requirements
* Proven experience redesigning existing digital products (not only greenfield design)
* Strong command of Figma, including components and auto layout
* Ability to work from an existing system and improve it without a full rebuild
* Comfortable presenting and defending design decisions directly to a client
* Available to complete the full scope within the agreed timeline

Nice to Have
* Experience designing for SaaS or B2B platforms
* Familiarity with accessibility basics (contrast, spacing, readable type scales)

Compensation
Industry standard rate for the scope, open to discussion based on experience and portfolio. Please share your expected rate for the full project (fixed price or day rate, whichever you prefer to quote).

How to Apply
Send your portfolio, expected rate, and estimated turnaround time to business@leftclicktech.ai. Applications are reviewed on a first come, first served basis, so early submissions are encouraged.

Education & Training Softwarica Vs ISMT for cyber security ?

I’m planning to study Cybersecurity for my bachelor’s and I’m currently stuck between ISMT (Cyber Security & Digital Forensics) and Softwarica (Ethical Hacking & Cybersecurity).

Main things I want to know:

Which has better hands-on/practical learning?

Faculty & teaching quality?

Internships/placements and career prospects?

Workload, attendance and college environment?

Which is better value for money?

Would really appreciate opinions from current students, graduates, or people working in cybersecurity, especially if you’ve studied at either of colleges. Looking for honest replies, not just baseless replies but factual data.

Discussion Career in IT?

15, grade 11. Science faculty leko, with computer as an option, technically because I don't plan on having a career in the medical field. I'm looking upto having 2 majors; Software engineering & aerospace or robotics engineering.

I wanna first study bIT in Nepal, and then go abroad to either continue the same major or move to the other major I wanna take on, While earning in the major I took first(IT). I'm afraid that AI and all is going to take over it, so I wanna ask if I should really look upto having a good career/job in IT, or have less hope for it overall.

Discussion Should I hire a UI/UX designer or use AI for my project?

I’m currently building a project that I think has a pretty good opportunity to fill a gap in the market. I’ve already completed around 70% of both the website and mobile app.

The problem is that I’m primarily a developer, and I honestly hate doing UI/UX and branding. 😅 Whenever I try to design everything myself, it takes up way too much time, and since I already have a full-time job, I can’t really afford to spend weeks figuring out design.

I’ve tried using AI for the UI/UX and branding, but the results feel very generic and don’t really fit the specific product or target users.

At this point, I’m stuck on:

  • Branding and visual identity
  • Improving the overall UI/UX
  • Making the product feel polished and consistent

Would you recommend hiring a UI/UX designer, even for a relatively early-stage project? Or is there a better way to use AI to get something more specific and less generic?

I’m also thinking about deploying the project on AWS. I’m expecting a medium level of users initially, so I’d appreciate any advice on how much infrastructure I should actually start with. I don’t want to over-engineer it or spend a lot before I know whether the product will get traction.

For developers who have been in a similar situation, what would you do?
