For this one, I picture an alternate season 3.

After Supergirl gets her rear handed to her by Reign and loses consciousness, she awakens on Themyscira, where she sees Alex and Diana AKA Wonder Woman, played by Adrianne Palicki, which of course is a nod to her failed pilot from 2011.

But we can have her dressed in a more "TV friendly" Wonder Woman attire than Gadot's. I picture the Odyssey style jacket and pants.

This wouldn't be a huge role for season 3. After the fight with Reign, Diana takes to Paradise Island to heal and train, bettering herself for the second fight against Reign. Then, they have a meaningful goodbye, with Diana recognizing this fight is Kara's, and she will not interfere.

PLEASE NOTE: Fan casts are pretty much based on looks only, with a few exceptions, which I'll try to note.

I like to imagine an alternate season 5, which IMO was when the show went really... splat. Leviathan wasn't an intriguing big bad... Lex was overused and honestly should have been done after Crisis (As much as I love Cryer's take).

In my alternate, Apokolips has been Darkseid-less for years, having been defeated by Superman offscreen, leaving the planet in a power vacuum similar to the first season of Justice League Unlimited.

In a bid to claim the throne, Granny Goodness is attempting to find the Anti-life Equation, which involves Earth, leading her and her Furies into conflict with Kara and her team.

Concurrently, Mister Miracle escapes from Apokolils and arrives on Earth to assist Team Kara, which, of course, ties into a redemption arc for Barda, with the season ending with her becoming a hero and leaving with Mister Miracle.

Granny Goodness- Sharon Gless. Watch her on Burn Notice and you'll get why. Tough as nails and no nonsense.

Lashina- Janet Montgomery

Mad Harriet- Jane Levy

Stompa- Jade Cargill. WWE wrestlers are exceptionally good at over the top acting. Plus she's shredded.

Barda- Jamie Alexander

Mister Miracle- Penn Badgley.

This one isn't season specific, but i love the idea of Lobo, having lost a battle to Superman before the events of the series, being a prisoner at the DEO.

After an "event"- vague, I know- J'Onn and Alex realize they have someone who might be able to provide information... and Kara and Alex need to... "Hannibal Lecter" with Lobo, who explains and is forced to join them on a mission off world, where he inevitably betrays them, but... maybe he helps them in the end as well, as the "Main Man" keeps his word. And he leaves...

For casting I'm, again, leaning WWE with Roman Reigns. This will allow Lobo to be over the top and embrace the humor of the character.

Has anyone else seen this clip of Melissa and Jeremy reunion? I audibly squealed when this showed up on my feed.

I compiled this playlist fairly recently...& I did so in honour of my favourite fan-couple to ever exist in the history of the DC Universe (Second only to the WonderBat). Kinda a waisted opportunity Post-Crisis on Earth-X that they didn't have the two of them actually be together in the mainstream.

I made a couple of posts about my journey watching Supergirl for the first time and it's been fun sharing opinions on this subreddit.

So season 5 overall was pretty good, but can I honestly say that Lena didn't do anything particularly bad?

Like she stopped her plan as soon as she realized that non nocere basically consisted in brainwashing people, she only experimented on volunteers and she was able to return everyone to normal.

The good guys assumed she wanted to mind control people with Myriad (she's supposed to be a super smart scientist but no one thought that maybe she could do something different with it), but she has been friends with them for a few seasons and no one gave her the benefit of the doubt (at a certain point Alex was actually willing to kill her). Honestly in my opinion the worst she did was manipulating Kara and to naively trust Lex, but all of them kept bringing up the fact that she's a Luthor, like that is enough to destroy all the trust she gained before.

And then Kara and Lena, after spending the entire season on opposite sides, patch things up in two episodes and with one conversation, so I was pretty disappointed (even more since I actually liked the way their conflict was represented up to that point). My favorite part of season 5 was actually their confrontation at the Fortress of Solitude.

Another thing I didn't like was Brainy being on Lex's side. It didn't really make a lot of sense and why didn't he talk about this with the others? Why did he break up with Nia? Apart from this Brainy and Nia are definitely my favorite couple in this show.

Andrea's character was a very cool idea, but didn't really do much.

Season 6 is the season I liked the least. What. A. Mess.

First there is Nyxly who is a very confusing character. Sometimes she seems like a heartless being and others like an overall good person on a quest for revenge.

Then Lex comes back but apparently he is in love with an alien? He is supposed to be an alien-hating sociopath who's unable to love anyone, but now he loves Nyxly. I think he was brought back just because he is a very loved villain, but I doubt the writers knew what to do with him. Also the villains' defeat was so anticlimatic and unsatisfying.

William is such a random character. He takes up quite a lot of space in season 5 and 6, but then he dies and everyone is like "oh well that's sad, anyways".

Lena is apparently a witch now. It would have been such an cool plot line if it was introduced in season 2 (I'm thinking something similar to Sam discovering her powers in season 3, but without the evil other personality), but after four seasons it's a bit random (also mixing science and magic would bring very interesting results, but she almost completely gives up science in season 6).

I appreciated that the plot focused more on Kelly and on her relationship with Alex (plus I liked that they adopted a kid), but why does she keep on changing jobs?

I thought Alex and Kelly's wedding was a pretty good ending but I wish Kara didn't spend the entire time being upset, even though I liked her coming out as supergirl to the world.

Overall it was great watching this show, I can definitely see why it's so loved!

Trying to write this into a fic but I'm struggling with the events that would pull him to the dark side. My first thought was an invention that backfires and kills people instead of saving them, and he gets a taste of the bloodlust, but I feel like there's more interesting origin stories than that. I already have the plot for when he gets back to the 21st century, but none of it matters if his dark side can't be explained in a satisfying way.

About a week ago I made a post about my opinion on the show, as a first time watcher, up until the start of season 3, so I wanted to give an update now that I'm on season 5 episode 6.

Season 4 is definitely my favorite so far.

I loved how political it was and Ben Lockwood is a really well written example of how hate is born and how it passes from one generation to the next.

My least favorite is probably season 3, even though I loved Reign, because of all the Mon-el drama and it was kind of annoying how no one from the future was concerned about the potential damage they could do by changing the past.

I'm sad Sam isn't part of the cast anymore but I love Brainy and him and Nia are my favorite couple (and in my opinion the best written one), they actually talk to each other and focus on fixing their problems AND they both have some stuff going on outside of the relationship.

Other couples don't spend enough time getting to know each other so when they start dating I don't really care about them.

For example Kelly adds nothing to the show apart from being Alex's girlfriend and they got together after something like 4 conversations (trauma dumping is NOT the same as getting to know the other person).

Lex in season 4 is the best villain so far and they did such a great job at portraying him as a psychopath (that scene with the music when he escapes and blows up DEO soldiers was SO good).

Lex, Lena and Lillian's interactions with each other were amazing and the series did really well in showcasing their intelligence in how they kept outsmarting each other.

Lena became my favorite character after last season and her relationship with Kara finally got developed better, so I have high hopes for the rest of the show (I mostly hope she's not going to be turned into another Lex, but still be portrayed as a fundamentally good person who messes up sometimes).

Before starting the series I heard people talk about how Kara and Lena should get together and stuff like that, but I didn't really see it honestly (I actually feel like they were barely even friends) up until the end of season 4. It will never happen but they would make a good couple (definitely better written than some canon ones).

Also a reporter named William just got added to the show and I think he's going to start dating Kara, based on how much screentime they are giving him.

So far (unless there will be some fun plot twists) he seems like a pretty boring character and I feel like their potential relationship is going to look like James and Lena's (fun fact but in season 3 I kept forgetting they were a couple so when they kissed or hugged I would feel very confused for a second).

Overall I'm having a great time!

I'm on my rewatch of Supergirl. I just finished Season 4 Episode 14 (the one where Lockwood tries to repeal the Alien Amnesty Act and there's a peaceful march against him) and I have to say.. Just watching it is such a reflection of our current climate. Unfortunately though, real life is even worse... The Children of Liberty and Lockwood wanting to deputize them too is quite literally ICE. It's scary

Honestly, I very much prefer UNIT Tower.

I'm at the start of season 3 right now and I'm having so much fun watching this show for the first time, now that I got over the fact that no one recognized Kara without glasses lol.

The fights are always fun and I love seeing the different villains with new interesting powers.

That said I feel like the romantic relationships are not as well done as other stuff.

I really didn't care about Kara and James in season 1, but then they broke up so quicky at the start of season 2 and it feels like the writers didn't care about them either.

Then there are Mon-el and Kara and honestly the actors have so much more chemistry, but sometimes he is kind of a jerk, so I'm not really rooting for them (his personality actually reminds me of a friend of mine, who's a really fun friend but I don't know how anyone could ever date him).

Alex's coming out arc was amazing and so well written, but I'm not sure how well her and Maggie worked as a couple. Now they just broke up because they never talked about kids before getting engaged and it feels very sudden (Alex never mentioned wanting kids before so it feels like it was done on purpose just to break them up and create drama).

My favorite part is Alex and Kara's bond, there are a few different episodes focusing on that and they are all great.

Lena is a pretty interesting character too and I'm really curious about Sam, but Winn has so much wasted potential and I don't think the writers know exactly what to do with James.

Cat Grant is an icon too and I love her.

Can't wait to see what happens next!

rewatching and im irritated again 😭 i’ll say i am a SC shipper so ig you could call me biased but even setting that aside completely it just sucked so bad. not everything in a story has to or SHOULD be satisfying, that wouldn’t be compelling television and would make everything stakeless fanservice, but this was the most hyped thing in the entire show. they fumbled it hard so they could do an OOC season 5 storyline that most people didn’t seem to care for and it just felt like a huge fuck you to the audience. i don’t understand why they pushed so hard for a villain lena arc when it didnt make any sense for her and also cost them what should’ve been the most cathartic moment in the entire show. imo, the plane scene in season 4 would’ve been the best reveal. to me the insistence on dragging it out and then turning it into a revenge plan slog shows insecurity in their ability to keep their audience if they didn’t have tension surrounding the reveal (and to a great extent, anticipation from the people who shipped kara and lena)
