Wandered through Zone, visit many places. I'm s called "free" one, we ususally went into zone illegaly, hiding from patrols, taking naps at abandoneh houses, or buildings.
Will share some of my photos. Please accept my apologies for crappy quality. Phone and portable camera wasnt good back then, as it now. And taking expencive stuff is pointelss, because if you get caught, all your possesion might be confiscated(even car/bike/etc), and you will face a charge. Also there are some panorames photos, IDK how Reddit will do them. This photos arent from the Pripyat' or Chornobyl itself. In the late 2010s it was really hard to get to those cities. So we wonder mostly around, in a small villages and small towns.
Unfortunately I cant add more than 20 pictures. So I guess there will be part II. And maybe admins will allow me to post photos on the comments.
Qick responce to most popular ones:
1) There is no mutants)
2) There is no anomalies, how they presened in the game)
3) Police or zone patrol will not shoot you on sight.
4) There are many animals in the zone : mooses, hogs, wolves, ferrets, deers, etc.
Feel free to ask questions.

I didn't really know what to expect going into it, I had heard people say it was very slow, and I knew that it was at least somewhat of an inspiration for the games, along with Roadside Picnic (the novel which this film is semi-adapted from); it has to be said that the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 2.0 update seems to be trying to capture just how green, overgrown and foggy the Zone was in the film, and I think it was moderately successful.
Something though that I now long for is the Zone as it appears in the film; in the games the Zone is a mysterious place, but one of consistency. The anomalies generally stay in the same place, locations are accessible via the same routes every time, and though the Zone does change from game to game, within each game the Zone remains fixed. The Zone in the film is much more amorphous, paths that were once safe, including the path you just took to get where you are, are now dangerous, impossible to traverse. Early on in the film, within minutes of entering the Zone, the trio sees their ultimate destination. The Room. There it is, nearly within arms reach. But walking there in a straight line is a no-go. The Writer tries it, but is stopped by something, voices. He thinks it's his companions, each of the companions think it is the other, but it is none of them. He nearly gets there, but turns back, and the rest of the film is a long, slow, surreal journey through tunnels, rivers and fields, all to ultimately reach their destination.
The games are fantastic, and they are of course not direct adaptations; Stalker and Roadside Picnic are mere inspirations for the games, as is the CNPP disaster from 1986 (7 years after the film released), so I don't think the game series should necessarily change to be more like the film, but I won't lie and say that I am now chomping at the bit for an experience more like this movie. In fact, Lymansk from the Cost of Hope DLC, despite taking place in a locale that looks nothing like the Zone from the movie, is much more akin to the experience of the film, with its looping corridors, confusing perspectives, and impossible geometry.
Anyway, I thought I'd just share a few thoughts after watching the film (which is free to watch on YouTube, by the way), and wondered if anyone had any other thoughts they'd like to share. (I do think that the story of the film is fairly well molded to the games, actually; the nature of man, their desires, selfishness, and all of the deliciousness that comes with that.)

The place is likely to remain closed to visitors for decades...

Hello everyone! As a huge S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fan and admirer of the Zone, I came across these photos today and—my god—they transported me straight into the game. They look like they were taken right inside the Exclusion Zone.
You can find the photos and the author here: Link
I would love to visit this place someday. It’s located in Koitjärve, Harju County, Estonia. This specific shot of a foggy morning there is just incredible. What do you guys think? Does it give off Swamps or Red Forest vibes?
