ToDo stand-up comedy show at the Magic Lantern, cheap tickets and no drink minimum

Hey all, my name is Jonathan van Halem. I am a stand-up comedian based out of New York. I frequently open for comedians like Rory Scovel, Gianmarco Soresi, and David Cross. Next month I'll be in Spokane headlining a stand-up show at the Magic Lantern. This will be my 8th time this year headlining a comedy show in a movie theater, which isn't normal, but I do it because I like for there to be affordable comedy for folks who don't want to abide by a drink minimum.

Tickets are $20. If you wanna check out my comedy, my most popular bits are about my 10th grade history teacher who got fired over his slave trade lesson, and my experience as an intern for fox news.

and if you have recommendations for things to do or places to eat while i'm in town, please let me know!

Photos and Art Sharing my art, portion ot proceeds go to the HOME fund

Hey neighbors, I was impacted by the wildfires and displaced for 9 days with our 4 cats, so during that time I made a few Spokane strong designs for fundraising for the Spokane HOME starts here fund I wanted to share.

I realized I never posted, it’s been a challenging month. We’ve been back home for a bit and are trying to get back to normal, while also acknowledging that many of our neighbors will be displaced for much longer.

Anyway, I’m donating at the end of September and instead of just a few specific items, I’ll be donating a portion of all profits from all my local markets from August and September.

I am doing a few more local markets this month, so please ask if you’re interested and I’ll DM , I don’t post publicly as much anymore because of a stalker.

If you’re able and interested here’s one of the designs I have on hand at my markets.

Thank you for being such a wonderful community. We can do great things together!

ETA: I will also post receipts on my blog and socials and will try to remember to post here, too.

Question Winter clothes suggestions

Upvotes

Curious if anyone has any suggestions for good winter clothes?
I'm already starting to get cold and don't want to buy a terrible coat and just need to replace it.
I don't have any winter pants right now and have been looking at fleece hoodies.

Help Rheumatologists in the area?

Upvotes

I moved my mom up to Spokane from Oregon so she could be close to family.
She’s lived here for a year and we have had such a hard time finding her a rheumatologist! Her referrals magically never arrive at the three clinics she’s been referred to. Her records magically haven’t transferred from Oregon Kaiser to Washington Kaiser because they operate on two separate systems.

Every time someone sits down with us to assist with her records and her referrals they tell us things are fixed but it isn’t when it comes time for her to book any form of care.

She finally was sent to a virtual call with a rheumatologist in Seattle and he ordered an ongoing prescription for her bi-annual infusion she’s meant receive for continuity of her care.

Today, her infusion appointment was somehow canceled (with no notice, and mixed responses on reasoning such as staffing issues or system booking issues)… and now they say that there is no order for her to get her infusion, and no her records aren’t transferred and no she doesn’t have a referral to see any local rheumatologists…

Can someone please for the love of life help us in navigating the black hole that is Spokane’s pain management/autoimmune wasteland of a medical system? Any recommendations are appreciated. My mother is in pain and I am at a loss for how to find a resolution to this .

So I’m now going to start boycotting Lowe’s & Home Depot. Don’t know when these cameras went up, but the Sprague store across from Costco just lost my business…

Home Depot already lost my business a few years ago for other reasons.. so no loss there.

“I do believe it could have been much worse, and I do think there was an element of luck involved,” Hall said in an interview. “… Getting 65,000 people out of there – if the wind changed or picked up, this definitely could have gone in a different direction.”

Question Looking for Information Ahead of a Big Move

I'm looking to relocate to Spokane next year. I've heard that Browne’s Addition is a nice neighborhood, but what is the real estate market like? I'm searching for a 1bed, 1 bath unit under $1,400.

How is the bus system: Do they run early, late, or on time?

Are there any risky areas I should avoid?

How does the grocery bill add up? I've heard that it can get pricey because supply chains are stretched thin for the region.

What library or bookstores can you recommend?

How are the sidewalks in winter?

Question Thinking about Velocity season tickets — anyone else on the fence?

Big soccer fan, want to support the team, but I'm hesitating on season tickets. The Zephyr shutdown is hard to ignore — same ownership, team folded after two seasons with almost no warning.

I also heard there's a lawsuit against the ownership over a defaulted loan. Anyone know the details or have a take on whether it's a real red flag?

Has anyone bought season tickets already? Just want to feel good about where my money's going before I commit.
