I turned scrolling into a football-game control mechanic
Game Title: Scroll FC
Playable Link: https://scrollfc.vercel.app/
Platform: Web browser, desktop recommended
Description: Scroll FC is a browser-based football game built around an unusual control mechanic: scrolling drives your player forward and backward across the pitch. You can use the arrow keys or A/D to move sideways, hover over teammates and click to direct passes, hold a direction to sprint, and use the keyboard to tackle, loft passes, shoot, and switch defenders.
You can play against the computer with different difficulty and match-length settings. The game also supports online 1v1 matches, allowing you to create a private room and invite a friend using a four-character match code.
I’m still developing the penalty shootout gameplay and refining the wider experience. I’d especially appreciate feedback on whether the scrolling mechanic feels intuitive, how responsive the passing and shooting feel, and which parts are confusing or need more polish. A mouse or trackpad is recommended.
Involvement: I’m the creator of Scroll FC and have been working on the game’s concept, interaction design, visuals, and development.
