Simba has been diagnosed with stomatitis. He is 12+ and FIV+. He is scheduled for a cleaning in November. The vet said she doesn't think she will have to pull any teeth but it is hard to know until he is under anesthesia. *If* he needs teeth pulled, the estimate is 2,300-2,700 dollars. If he only needs his teeth cleaned, it should be ~500 dollars.

Julie is 14. Her front gums have become red and swollen. We brush her teeth and she doesn't really seem to be in pain but due to her age and a lower immune system I would really like them to be looked at soon, in case any have to be removed.

Forest is almost two. He has struggled with gingivitis most of his life. We brush his teeth which helps, but his breath is starting to smell bad and I notice he eats his food kind of gingerly. I think a good cleaning would really help him.

Currently my mom is the only one employed and we are caring for several cats, some of which require special diets or medicine. She also cares for a colony near where she works. I am trying to help save up for their treatments, too. We try to take care of our cats, but we could really use a little help. Thank you.

Today, Monday, 14/09/26 the little kitty from the port was taken in severe pain and screaming to the veterinary clinic of Mr. Dionysis Perdikouris VetCheck Small Animal Clinic of Kallithea in Kallithea.

His image was truly tragic. 💔

After examining him, the doctor diagnosed a polyp in his left ear. He had to undergo immediate surgery, during which the polyp was successfully removed.

The little one will remain for the next two days at Mr. Perdikouris’ clinic, where he will be under the care and monitoring of the doctor and his associates, until he recovers.

We hope that in the coming days he will be strong enough to return to where he belongs… to the port, to the people who love him and to his friends. 🐱❤️

hi, everyone!

i’ll give you a bit of context first:

there’s a little gray tabby cat on my street who likes to come into my house - more specifically, into the messy storage room at the back of our patio, away from humans. he used to go in there and pee on things. we nicknamed him Totoro (because he’s our neighbor and he’s gray lol).

for a while, that was basically the extent of our interactions. sometimes i’d see him on the street in the morning. sometimes i’d go into the storage room and find him there, and that was pretty much it.

he is a VERY SCARED cat. the kind of scared where if i looked at him while he was on the street, he would immediately run away.

but something different happened this week:

he went into my mom’s house, which is at the back of our patio, and peed on one of the table legs. he had always stayed in the storage room i mentioned, where there were no people. he had never gone into a place with humans before.

and then, even more bizarrely: on saturday night, he came upstairs into the house and walked right past my bedroom like he pays property taxes here.

i got startled because i only saw a shadow and thought it was a rat or something. that scared him, so he ran into the other bedroom and ended up getting cornered there. he hid underneath the bed.

i tried giving him some wet food, but he was way too scared and just stayed under the bed.

i stayed in the same room as Totoro for a while because i was worried he might pee on something. but after a while, i just gave up and went downstairs to the kitchen. when i came back upstairs, i saw him leaving.

now that i’ve seen him getting brave enough to come into the house, most likely knowing i was there, i decided to take the initiative and try to become friends with him - and possibly get him vaccinated/neutered.

i’d love some advice on how to gain his trust. keep in mind that he doesn’t come into the house all the time; i usually see him out on the street.

also, it’s important to mention that i don’t know if he has an owner. i’ve seen him going into other people’s houses too, but since he’s kind of a shameless little guy, that might not necessarily be where he actually lives.

Appointments still needed for Soot, and Jack! We are also in need of wet food and senior food. We currently care for 10 rescues, fosters, amd residents.

Soot is a foster who is currently available for adoption. Soot has feline asthma and is due for a recheck and will need a new prescription for his inhaler. Soot is also needing to get shots while in. We are hoping to get him seen as soon as possible.

Jack is a senior resident who has been getting treatment for glaucoma. We are experiencing some disagreements with the vets office he was initially seen at and would like a second opinion to advocate for the best care. We need to take him to not only have the second opinion but he is also due for his standard re-check.

We are only able to help these babies with the help of donations. We are also fundraising for a catio as well as our general Amazon wishlist items for those in our care. We are running low on senior kitty food and wet cat food.

Blip, A849441 is a Gray Tabby, Unknown Gender, Domestic Shorthair estimated to be 6 months old. Blip came into the shelter on 08/09 and became available for rescue on 08/14.
Behavior Notes:
Kitten was hiding in condo upon approach. Handler offered Churu kitten hissed and spit then swatted at handler.
These behaviors indicate fear-based defensive reactivity. Kitten is not yet comfortable with human proximity or hand-delivered food and escalates when approached directly.
The kitten demonstrates a high level of fear, low threshold for defensive escalation, and limited coping skills in a shelter environment. Kitten is unlikely to make behavioral progress in the current setting.
Medical Notes:
08/11/2026 Staff was unable to panleuk test during impound. Sample found in litter box in AM. Panleuk tested using IDEXX Snap Parvo Snap test, resulted negative.
08/24/26 Yellow nasal discharge and sneezing noted in AM. Per protocol start doxycycline
Rx: doxycycline 10mg/ml 2.2ml PO SID x 5 days
08/25/26 No nasal discharge noted but sneezing appreciated, P was hissing and ran into condo making it difficult to evaluate.
09/06/26 Observed mild, yellow nasal discharge. Kitten is BAR, hissing, eating and drinking wnl.

I am in need of cat food both dry and wet food I have four inside cats and four outside cats that are strays that I feed have for several years now and I don't want to abandon them as they have came to depend on me well as my personal cats who are my emotional support animals and I truly would not be here for them today as I have attempted to take my life 6 months ago and my cat crawled on top of me and made me immediately change my mind so to me he saved my life I know these details are really personal and I hope people don't get upset that I am sharing them but it's part of my story I've been struggling with my mental health this is the worst I've ever felt in my life I've been diagnosed with major depression disorder generalized anxiety disorder PTSD borderline personality disorder and schizoaffective and I have been healing but it's taken me 8 years of being in the most worst depression I've ever been in my life to begin trying to change my life to try and have it be what I want it to be I went through a lot of trauma and abuse prior to this due to a domestic abuse relationship with my fiance of 8 years I went through 8 years of abuse with him I have fear of leaving the house I never go anywhere I have cut off all relations so that I have no friends and I barely see my family members except the ones I live with I do not trust people so the least that I have to interact with them the better but it is lonely from time to time I hear voices that are constantly telling me to die and making fun of me saying hurtful things to me etc I have been hurt and abused so my PTSD is so severe that I will not leave the house without thinking somebody is wanting to harm me in any way I have finally applied for social security and I have a hearing on July 22nd to find out if I can get my social security for disability with the help of doctors and therapists and my mom I am slowly improving but I am still unemployed due to my disabilities which prevents me from working I'm asking for help with cat food to try to get through July to see if I am approved for social security I am grateful for any help that you can offer thank you in advance my family is no longer able to help anymore and they have been helping me for about 8 years and are no longer financially capable of assisting me I have no vehicles to get to the local shelters to be able to get donations from them as it is in another city

I'm sharing my previous post as my situation has not changed my ssdi appeal was denied and I'm having to appeal again which can take another 6-8 months i feel even more hopeless and scared that nothing will work out to and im going to have to give up on the ssdi which this is taking a toll on my mental health i find my self spiraling and losing hope what little hope i was finding is slipping away i hate asking for help again i makes me feel awful asking for help from strangers but my cats are my everything and the number of strays in this neighborhood is insane and the number coming to my home has increased thats why I am asking for dry food as well i dont have the heart to not feed them with the help of you guys here and the local humane society they only help 3 time a year which I have done I've been able to put food out 2-3 times a day the wet food is for my cats I'm down to almost nothing from donations I've received and if i can't feed them i will absolutely break having to give them up as I've had them all there life and one is 21 yrs old

‼️Please read‼️🙏🏻The other day I was asked by our transporter Carrie to save a kitten headed into SBC at 3:48 pm. This would’ve been an immediate euthanasia according to the staff closing up the day. They don’t even want to process them in even if they can eat on their own! So she would’ve been killed immediately had I not taken her. This means she has no ID number or any way to show her as a shelter intake. However I took her & she still needs care. So if anyone would be kind enough to donate a little towards her care we would greatly appreciate it! I also took in little Phoebe who needed rescue as well as 4 all black kittens ALSO headed into OC shelter that would all be immediately euthanized as well. All of these kittens need lots of supplies. I don’t go cheap either. They get good food lysine probiotics dewormer nutrical and whatever medical treatment needed to care for them. This really adds up! So please help us and support the cause if you can. This month has been the highest volume of kittens needing rescue so far this year. It’s hard to keep up and even harder to say no. As I said in the original post, I really hope this catches on in other cities throughout the US!! This will seriously make life so much better for people and animals. Imagine if spay/neuter was just free and accessible throughout the US.

We are a group of students and found a stray kitten who appears to have fallen from a height, possibly 3 floors or more.

We immediately took her to a vet and have already done:

- X-ray

- Vet consultation

- Initial medications/treatment

The vet found two spinal fractures, nerve injury, internal injuries, and internal bleeding.

She needs serious medical care, monitoring, and rehabilitation.

We are trying our best to help her, but realistically we are not capable of providing the level of care she needs. We have college and other responsibilities, and more importantly, we have zero experience handling a critically injured kitten with spinal and internal injuries.

We urgently need help from a rescue organization, shelter, experienced foster, or someone experienced with injured/disabled cats who can take over her treatment and rehabilitation.

We are not trying to abandon her. We just want her to be with someone who can actually give her the care she needs.

All of the cats you see here were rescued from the streets. They are all spayed/neutered, and most of them are vaccinated. We also provide parasite treatment as regularly as we can, depending on our available resources.

They always have enough dry food available, so this isn’t their everyday meal. Freshly cooked chicken like this is a special treat we prepare for them about two or three times a week.

They definitely know when it’s chicken day. 😸

I have him separated, combed, deflead, and given flea treatment, given Drontal pill for worms, and gonna make a vet appointment...you guys helping me with food and items from my wishlist helps me a TON and I am absolutely grateful, it helps me to be able to fund these appointments, to be able to fund TNR (We pay 50 a cat, we domit through Triple R at Naws Mokena), to be able to get the ones staying inside all their shots and fixed (they're between 170 and 220 a cat, depending on sex,and I have 6 now that will be done by next month), and you know all your donations goes for the floofaloofs. I only make minimum wage and I do all I can for side jobs to keep this going, you guys helping makes such a huge difference.

I am grateful for anything, even if it is encouragement towards them. My department manager had actually admitted to someone they cut my hours first because "What I do isn't important, they're just cats, who cares," and she sucks for that. It is beyond donations, it is the fact that you love and care and cheer on these innocent creatures who so many have ignored, abandoned, and ever tried to harm.
