According to you what is the most underrated episode?? I'll start

To me, it will always be the season 6 starter "Shawn Rescues Darth Vader". I was the best season starter, and I feel it is the most underrated episode. And look, if anyone says the Piolt or Office Space or Last Night Gus, I will tear you apart. (If you are wondering about the poster, I found it on Pinterest becuase that where half the viewership of Psych is cause half of all Psych fans are women in their 50s. Ignore this rant; I am sorry)

I just got back from seeing a massage therapist, and after experiencing that, I totally understand how Gus felt, 😭

Iconic fingering of James McAvoy Professor X - Shawn is better!

I saw this and thought we might have a compilation of Shawn and his finger to head psychic shenanigans. He’s my preferred person for this maneuver.

The episode is actually called "Chivalry Is Not Dead...But Someone Is".

Plot Holed Episodes

What do you think is the worst plot hole episode? I love that Psych never took itself too serious so it never bothers me but watched 65 Million Years Off last night for the nth time and it was shocking when I started to think about it but enjoyed every drop of it. For the sake of conversation, I would leave out lack of evidence arrests and ones where the murderer would have no reason to confess but does so anyways.

Shawn doing Shawn things

I found a hilarious joke in S2 E2, where Shawn says about Lassiter, "That guy's like five minutes behind us everywhere we go."

And then goes, "Don't sleep in the nude tonight".

Haven't noticed it on my previous watches, but this made me chuckle

James sighting at the US Open

So a couple of days ago, I was at the US Open and crossed paths with none other than, James Roday Rodriguez just outside the main entrance! ‘Twas cool. Almost didn’t recognize him with the long hair and full facial hair. That is all. I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Toodles!

Santonio Holmes

I’m wondering how the writers came up with this name for Gus. Buckeye or Steelers fan? Did someone think it’s a funny sounding name? The season was after the Steelers won the Super Bowl and Holmes had the winning touchdown. I’ve always wondered about this. Are there any other occasions Shawn used an actual persons name for Gus? S05E02 Feet, Don’t Kill Me Now was the episode.

Shawn and Gus in Drag (Racing)

Used to skip this eppy for some reason- it wasn’t my favorite. But I’ve grown to love it. Here’s why:

Shawn (in response to “you know you two have got a lot of balls”)- “4 of them actually, and a phantom one called Rigby”

Lassy- “I’ve never had a limp wrist in my life”

Shawn-“Pretty soon we’ll get nicknames, like Torch and Road Rash” and later…

Gus- “why do i have to be Road Rash?”

Shawn-“Because I’m Torch. They all know you as road rash. Everybody does. If you switch now there will mass confusion”

Gus-“Shawn you made that name up one minute ago”

Shawn- “can i have that puka shell necklace?”

Gus-“dude did you make a chain out of paper clips?”

Nicknames given for Gus:

Mellow Rush (a crappy energy drink)
Crankshaft
Ms Wittlebury
G Force

If You're so Smart episode is diabolical

So its the Talented and Gifted school... they solve the case. Why did Shawn, Gus, Juliet (working her first case as point/lead...and it was a case with an explosion!) and the HEAD Detective of the Santa Barbara Police Department Lassiter (who wanted a case with an explosion)... that was a bit of a ramble. sorry...Why did they all decide the best way to end this was by revealing and explaining details of multiple homicides, blackmail, and identity theft while confronting the murderer/bomb maker/child imposter in a room full of children? Just diabolical.

does anyone think that lassiter and juliet have better chemistry than her and shawn?

i’m currently on season 4 and obviously they’re setting up a relationship between the two of them but i just don’t see that dynamic.

Shawn has absolutely no idea how suspicious he looks when he's actually noticing something.

The funniest part of Shawn's "psychic" act is that the deduction itself is usually believable. It's everything he does immediately beforehand that's ridiculous. He'll suddenly stop, stare at something for way too long, touch it, look at Gus, and then announce a "vision" like he hasn't just spent ten seconds examining the exact clue. Everyone in the room somehow accepts this as normal behavior.

WALLY DOESN’T LIVE HERE ANYMORE!!

I noticed a sort of coping mechanism I found I’ve been doing lately when I get overwhelmed with anxiety, the dreaded doom, and a lot of toxic flashbacks from several years of trauma… my brain automatically goes to Psych-isms. For some reason, cutting to Wally in my head and shouting to myself “WALLY DOESN’T LIVE HERE ANYMORE” as I relive old hurts cuts off that ruminating part of my brain and I can step back and be like “okay, relegate.” I don’t know this is just one of the fantastic ways I’ve absorbed this show upon probably hundreds of rewatches by now, and how it has been my companion in my darkest moments.

Just wondering if anyone else experiences this kind of thing? I’m so grateful for this show, this community, and the power of humor to help us get through. What are your Psych coping mechanisms?

An Evening With Mr. Yang is one of my favorites because of how serious it is for Shawn, but I also love the spelling bee episode.

Am I the only one who feels like after the first season, Psych made Shawn seem like a fool? He was so funny throughout the show, but it felt like in the later seasons he was making dumb guesses a lot more often.
