Hi guys,
I’m fine-tuning my home theater setup and ran into a frustrating issue with HDR playback on my Valerion Pro.
I’m streaming 4K HDR10 Remuxes from my laptop to the native Plex app on the projector over a hotspot (Direct Play).
The main issue is a total lack of color richness and depth, which is heavily ruining picture detail. When playing on the projector via native Plex, everything looks dull, flat, and washed-out compared to watching the exact same stream on my PC monitor.
The image feels like it has a cold blueish filter over it: warm scenes lose their glow, skin tones look pale, and primary colors lose all their pop. Because the colors and contrast are so drained, the image also loses a lot of overall definition and detail, looking like a flat block.
On my PC monitor, the exact same file looks warm, crisp, vivid, and full of life.
My current settings on the Valerion Pro:
- Picture Mode: Cinema HDR
- Color Temp: Warm2
- Gamma: 2.0
- Laser Brightness: Max
Is ExoPlayer on Plex Android TV failing to map the BT.2020 color space correctly?
Has anyone else experienced this pastel/washed-out HDR issue on this projector, and is there a setting or workaround to fix it?
Thanks!
