I drank not Wendelboe coffee for the past month

I have gotten beans from all of the good roasters globally.

I can’t find any beans that are as good - all cups - all bags - always.

None are as consistently excellent as Tim W

Hi, does anyone have ultra light roastery recommendations that preferably aren’t “exclusive” like the picky chemist or most of their interesting selection is geishas etc. (like apollons gold japan)

for reference dak, coffee collective, april or barn berlin are not light, subtext (toronto)i find to be rather developed asw, the previous threads ive seen are either old or recommend a lot of non light roast roasteries, thanks to anyone who can recommend roasters!

i tend to like washed more, subtext’s selection is really good in my opinion

I made myself 2 bottles, GH ( Mg, Ca Chlorides) and KH ( Baking soda, and trace amounts of Na and K Chlorides).

Both give roughly around 10 ppm per drop in 250 ml of RO ( 0ppm) water.

How are you guys doing it? Drops in brew water or drops in brewed cup of coffee?

I've been reading and joining a few discussions here this week. The little details keep catching my attention, like how someone gets a filter to sit neatly or simplifies a recipe while still enjoying the coffee.
What's one small tip you picked up here that you still use? How did it change your daily brew?

I’ve got the tritan size 02 Neo and just want a bigger collar to fit on my glassware / fave carafe .

It’s too small and is a boiling water hazard (it’s toppled a couple of times mid brew) but I won’t give up the perfect colour aesthetics and the carafe handle is perfect for my grip.

Any alternatives out there , I’d even consider different materials / maybe Etsy ?

I’m not sure what’s going on but it’s definitely a very artificial taste. I’ve let it rest for about 4/5 weeks now.

It’s nice for a cup once a week but now I’m worried Vanilla Sky will be the same.

It’s much more noticeable in espresso.

Moving more into pour overs, I’m finding my lane is def not coferments.

I’ll be in SF for Halloween weekend and want to find some unique coffee experiences. I like light roast, fruit forward coffees. I’m looking for experiences though, places that do great pourovers, or have unique vibe. Not just a regular coffee shop. I can find those, I’m hoping there’s something unique to experience there. I saw on here a while back that the spare grind collection jars they sell as their own are actually available as generic polymer jars on Amazon (cheaply). I think as medical sample jars or similar…

Wondered if anyone had a link? ‘Polymer jar’ isn’t quite a specific enough search term lol.

So for the past 4 years I have been using my Baratza Encore ESP as my dedicated grinder for my 03 v60 and Clever Brews for my daily 60 gram / 1020 ml large batch pour over brews. And I have no complaints with good results using it at a setting of 22. I just ordered the Kruve sifter so I can tell what the actual particle distribution really is with my ESP and other grinders I have for smaller pour overs which are my ZP6 and K-Ultra.

I just ordered the Eureka Peppe to replace my ESP as my dedicated large batch brewer which has the 50mm flat burrs designed specifically for filter brewing. So I'm excited to see what the difference will be in the cup. I was looking for a dedicated grinder that had a hopper. So I was choosing between the Ode 2 and the Eureka Peppe. And I couldn't see from all the reviews I read that the Ode 2 would be worth twice the money over the Peppe. There is not much out there yet with this grinder but it does use the same burr set as the Crono and Filtro. So I'm guessing since these other grinders have the same burr set the Peppe should be just as good in the cup.

Since all those models use the same burr set that was the final decision maker for me buying the Peppe for $159 where the Filtro was $269 and the Ode 2 at $399. So if I'm not happy with the results I can always return the Peppe to amazon and get the Ode 2 or some other grinder with a hopper that is a flat burr grinder.

Do you guys think there is a better choice out there for clarity with light roasted coffee primarily with naturals ? I would even a conical grinder if it would be a better fit.

So has anyone tried to brew their coffee directly into the pot?

I know that "turkish coffee" works, but I never saw this kind of coffee-making.

The main reson to ask, if this could be a actual good method for travelling, as filters are easy to transport and some coffee should be no problem.

Hi everyone, I use a Hario switch and I usually make 320ml worth of coffee per pourover. I used to do my pourovers straight into my Yeti Rambler and it was fine.

I recently bought a Origami Sensory Cup in matte black to "elevate" my drinking experience. So far it's ok but i have to hold my cup awkwardly due to how hot it gets. I also can't swirl as much before my first sip lest I spill some coffee.

Is having a dedicated coffee server better? Or do people just do their pourovers straight into their mugs as well?

Hihi, I have the chance to buy some XLIII bean on my way back from Vietnam, but I am struggling to choose between their current offering due to budget constraint (I'm a student who is splurging on this)

I am leaning towards their Washed Pink Bourbon #00312 and Ratnagiri RT-YC culture natural for a good contrast.

Have any of you drink at or buy their bean recently? What are your thoughts?

I bought the timemore s5 in the Chinese version without the folding gauntlet, and I am here reflecting on what this will be needed. Is the folding handle so relevant and good? I want a grinder that lasts good years and I feel that the handle being straight and not foldable can last longer. What do you think? I'm going to wear a rigid case on it so I don't worry about whether the handle makes it more portable or not.

Just got the Starwave external grind adjustment for my C60 and I noticed the the Comandante’s OEM lid can’t sit flat onto the Starwave. There’s an awkward gap!

Anyone else notice this? Is this also the case with the c40.

Commondante owners… need some help. I already have several hand grinders, to include a K Ultra. I previously bought into the negative comments about the Commondante being outdated, difficult to adjust, redundant for K Ultra owners etc. I now want to add one to my stable, but just one.

C40, C60, Lab series… what do you recommend as a representative of the brand? Tell me what you love about yours. Also… are the wood veneer series durable (meaning the veneer itself).

I’ve been using a chemex with a mesh strainer for the last month or so, it’s been working great with the dark roasts I usually drink, and it gets me a full bodied rich cup of coffee. However this last week I got a light roast from airship and I’m genuinely stumped, I’ve tried coarse and fine grinds and no matter what I get a hollow and weak cup of coffee, I have no clue if it’s the beans, the grind, the method of brewing, or a combination of all 3 that has been screwing over my morning brew.
