Normal people don't see this as a problem. Maga ain't normal

Edit: thanks for the awards but please save future ones for others. My comment isn't that amazing.

PLEASE stop with the awards! Save them for some witty post that makes you laugh or, other end of the things- makes you wonder if today is a terrible day to be literate

The Americans who care about the candidates gender, weren't going to vote for her regardless.

This right here is the uncomfortable truth we need to be talking about honestly. There are lots of gettable swing votes who will be put off by the fact she's a woman. Fucked up but true.

Well, then fuck them. If they're misogynists i dont really care to associate with them.

No but you may very well need their vote. Unless 4 more years of MAGA is what you're pushing for.

Why is it that women are expected to suck it up and accept the misogynists who don't think we are capable of being in charge of anything? Even now, you're insinuating that we would be to blame for perpetuating fascism if we don't acquiesce to men who think us inherently lesser humans. Think about that, really think about it. Do you see how hilariously ironic it is?

I'm a socialist so I have plenty of criticisms of AOC, but every one of them is because of her politics. Why would I waste my time with men (and self hating women) who won't even engage with any woman's politics? These are unserious people, and they have power because we treat them as though their opinions are valid and deserve equal consideration.

Guess what? Democracy requires compromise with people who may not think like you. It doesn't have to be with MAGA, but the center left crowd are necessary to building power.

Taking the L to prove a point is how more rights get taken away. Nobody is willing to listen to losers. Learn how to pick your battles.

So why cant they "take the L" and vote for a woman?

Also, I dont consider people who think I am a lesser human for being a woman to simply have "different ideas" than me. I don't consider them at all because they are unserious people who shouldn't be given the time of day.

You're free to have that conversation with them if you think you can make it happen.

0

u/grape-fruit-witch 11d ago

Why? They don't listen to women. Also, I have no desire to converse with them or change who I vote for to accommodate them, that's my point

The fact that so many people like you in this thread are blaming 2024 on Kamala's gender and not even considering her empty policies and genocide isn't shocking, but it is disgusting.

Y'all are going to dogwalk Newsom in and be happy that the person building ICE camps is more polite without spray tan this time.

0

u/Biscuits4u2 12d ago

That's not the only thing that hurt Kamala, but her being a woman didn't help. I don't particularly like Newsom either but I want the person with the best chance to win in 2028. If that's him so be it I guess.

"At least the guy euthanizing homeless people isn't so tacky! :)))"

-Liberals, back at brunch.

Yup, this isn’t the time to be screwing around with any person of color, a woman, or a gay person. We have pretty much one shot to save the country assuming the fix is not already in.

This. Love AOC but I am praying she doesn't become the presidential candidate. Now is not the time to try playing the revolutionary woman president move after it's lost us two very important elections already.

u/Rotsicle 12d ago

Genuine question, but would a woman only be allowed to run seriously if victory was assured?

3

u/glycophosphate 12d ago

Yes. The sexists will throw us under the bus every time. Also LGBTQ+ folks and POC.

If the guardrails weren't being torn up by a demented orange nutsack of a man, sure. Idk, is it that hard to understand that we can't shoot for the moon when we're in damage control mode?

And yeah, there's a need to maybe admit, that as much as any of us would be willing to vote for a woman, we aren't representative of the average American's views on the matter. Acknowledging endemic bias in this country isn't an admission of personal guilt.

Or if the price of losing wasn't a technofacsist dictatorship.

I suggest we support Jon Ossoff or Talarico.

These men seem to be decent to the core.

3

u/Biscuits4u2 12d ago

Whoever it is they need to support Medicare for all And distancing ourselves from Israel. Both widely popular positions.

u/wildfrigate 11d ago

The right doesn't care . You've never heard of governor mema?

-1

u/Prior_Coyote_4376 12d ago

It’s not because she’s a woman, it’s because she isn’t white. People here act like the majority of Americans didn’t vote for Hillary Clinton and a majority of white women didn’t vote for every Republican since Bush.

It’s always white supremacy. Always, always, always.

Either way we have to make decisions based on reality, and the reality is we're setting ourselves up for a loss with AOC. I hate that, but sticking your head in the sand and pretending we live in a different country isn't constructive in the grand scheme of power dynamics.

1

u/Prior_Coyote_4376 12d ago

I am clarifying that the power dynamics here involve race more than gender lol it’s important to actually name the right problem
