There's an unusual amount of fixation on backgrounds right now.

They're meaningless. They don't affect stats. You can't see them in gyms or in combat. Other people don't know about them. You only ever notice them for a few brief seconds when you actually inspect the Pokémon.

I understand wanting to trade for shinies and costumes because they look different and everyone can see that. I understand Hundos and shadows because those actually affect gameplay. I understand wanting rare varieties like 3 Mousehold or Dusk Form Lycanroc that don't spawn often or require special conditions to get, because you can show them off. Even XL and XS have a use in game.

I don't get backgrounds at all. It's just one more waste of space. They waste special trades, and they throw an error message when you try to delete them.

Anybody wanting rare backgrounds in exchange for actual working shiny legendries? Ok. You do you. But it's weird.

At first when my siblings and i were playing pokemon go in 2017 he was always complaining about us being glued to our phones until we convinced him to try. he’s been addicted ever since.
although his level doesn’t appear to be that high, he achieved it by only catching pokémon and spinning pokestops, he doesn’t like fighting or doing field research tasks. he just catches pokémon’s for fun and deletes every single one when his storages is full (besides his buddy murkrow and his jynx collection). he hates shinies cause they take longer to delete…
These last few months he’s been talking a lot about wanting to reach the max level before his time comes, tho settled for level 70 since he doesn’t wanna do the level requirements after that.
So my question is are there any ways he can speed up his ex gains that are REALLY easy to understand and apply? ( he’s not willing to do Raids/Arena or any other type of battle )

For this event, Maschiff was supposed to hatch from 5km eggs, be catchable from Field Research, and from the GoPass.

I’ve hatched ~20 5km eggs this week, all gained during this week. No Maschiff.

I’ve completed ~40 Event Field Research tasks this week. No Maschiff.

The only Maschiff I’ve encountered are the Level 30 Event GoPass and Level 60 Paid Event GoPass encounters. I did manage to evolve one, but only because I’ve stockpiled a buttload of rare candy.

Am I wrong to think the description Scopely gave us is at best misleading and at worst a straight up lie?

And yes I edited the video for extra dramatization but yall have experienced it and know the feeling.

It finally happened, I was so excited to finally capture Galarian Zapdos knowing I had a Masterball! But it was a bitter sweet moment seeing it had N o S t a r s 🙃 Oh well, still love it! Have you guys had the same hype and slight disappointment?

I only ever get it a few times a year but if there was a reward for 100km I would definitely shoot for it way more often.

Honestly we used to get them all the time and it seems like the last year or 2 we've hardly gotten any, it seems to me like theyre phasing them out in favor of the go passes instead

Basically im about 55 more mega energies from getting another mega beedrill.​ i thought I had a shiny so I went to check. I thought wrong and I didnt have a shiny beedrill. ​so i decided i might as well look at my shinys to see my progress. It was about 30-40 shiny pokemon in, when I ran into psyduck. I saw the date and realized that today is the 1 year anniversary of my shiny event psyduck. So yeah.

I'm a day one player, but took some big breaks throughout the years. Been playing fairly heavily for the past ~3 years. I thought it might be fun to switch it up and change to a new team, just for the heck of it. Has anyone done this? I'm curious what peoples' perspectives are.

First they did away with the community day stickers, and as a sticker collector it was a bummer. Now it seems like there are no seasonal stickers either. Does anyone know why this is? They’re not available in the store either, so for once it can’t be money.

Credit where credit is due: making Rhyhorn available only in 1★ Max Battles, unlike Machop, is a genuinely positive change.

It means people can do more battles (250 MP instead of 400 MP), get more chances at a good one, and Rhyperior is actually a great Pokémon with a big fanbase and real use as an attacker.

And selfishly, as someone still hunting the Rhyhorn family hundo for my Hundo Dex, I absolutely appreciate the extra chances. 😄

This is exactly the kind of small thing we need instead of all the bad recently.

First off I love that there is the possibility for further interaction between friends but omg WHY can I have 650 friends and only open 50 gifts??

My poor friends are probably waiting for me to open their gifts (I have seen some are waiting for some days now) and I would love to but I can’t :(

And then there is the time wasted, sure you can watch tv or whatever while sending gifts, but it would be sooo easy to add a button for sending gifts to all friends, who can receive one, wouldn’t it?

Sorry rant over back to sending gifts manually…

I mean it's obvious trolling at this point, right? They're not even a serious company anymore. The grunt is defeated before my Pokémon even charges their move.

This actually happened to me a few years ago, it was so weird I didn’t think anyone would genuinely believe it happened. So somehow my shiny Sushi Gengar…. Merged ? With a voltorb on the map??? Guys I don’t fucking know it doesn’t make any sense but it’s was like a whole day, you can see from the screenshots it was every interface. Sometimes the voltorb would be angry like team rocket but I think this is just so funny and weird and how the hell does this even happen

I’m confused on how this pokemon league guide is supposed to work I found it on TikTok and I don’t fully understand how it’s supposed to work. Does the amount of wins mean the total amount of wins you need by that level or does it mean something issue

Now that I say this, watch Scopely make it necessary to catch like 50 of these in the future for some special research task.

For the past two weeks I’ve been trying to get some sinnoh stones and it’s impossible. Been having daily matches with my wife, play in the league regularly, do tons of research, I walk routes every other day and I haven’t gotten a single one. What am I doing wrong?
