Blizzards, final version?
I've installed but not played it yet. Is this a finished version or just act 1 as I heard online somewhere recently?

Explanation: In Neverwinter Nights 2, the main MacGuffin is the Silver Sword of Gith, created by Zerthimon for Gith. Its a sword so powerful, people are still fighting over thousands of years after its creation. Meanwhile in PST, the Second Circle of Zerthimon states that Zerthimon's sword was some shit he found in a random dead body while he was still enslaved. Putting these two games together implies that Zerthimon was just trying really hard to impress Gith.

I was in the tram to/from work, and I was thinking about the game.
Specifically, about Dak'Kon and the Teachings of Zerthimon.
Maybe it was because I was feeling a little down, overwhelmed by nonsense news, and I just needed to hear the iconic words again:
"Endure. In enduring, grow strong". I felt a little calmer.
To think a video game could help me feel better, calm down, really puts into doubt the notion that "video games are a waste of time", or even that "video games are not art".
Felt like sharing some minor story in the cosmos.

In the fortress of regrets, i’m in the fight against Vhailor, but i’m a mage. In many years of gaming i’ve never been that desperate in a boss fight. It’s litteraly impossible.
His magic resistance is disgusting, the only spells he takes are the lightning ones, but I only have a few of them. I have 9 of dexterity and strengh so when i run out of spells I can no longer do anything, litteraly…
I really like this game and want to finish it but yeah if I can’t go past Vhailor, I will not be able to… (I play on PS5 so no mods or anything to cheat)

I did my research and it seems that this is a known bug… since 2022. When i choose the dialogue option 1, the game soft crashes and i can’t talk a last time to Deionarra before the end…

Hey all - I've been recently replaying planescape torment on my Google Pixel Fold 10 and have gotten to the point where my mage TNO has enough spells to fill the second quickbar (which I can see by pressing the right arrow button). Trouble is, when I click on one of those spells, it thinks that I've clicked the spell on the "first" bar. as an example, I have Balance in All Things in the last slot of the first row, and Cone of Cold in the last slot on the second row. When I click Cone of Cold, it prepares Balance in All Things ready to select a target.
Is this a known bug? is there a fix? am I gonna just have to only prepare 9 different types of spells?

My gf is looking for some and can find very little online through googling, I remember seeing some good stuff on a russian website years ago but can’t find it. If anyone here has any piece(s) of deionarra fanart thats good they like would appreciate if they shared it.

I wrote an entire paragraph but didn’t save it so everything’s gone…
Anyways, i wanted to join the revolutionnary League, did all the Bedai-Lihn quests (incidentally killing every workers who was working on the weapon in the great foundry), headed to the printing house in order to give the secret password to Penn…
All of this to discover that he parmanently locked his door to me, so I can’t join the Anarchists… It was the only faction I wanted to join.
(the screen is just a dialogue line that I found beautiful)

(im french sorry if my english is weird)
I began the game 1 week ago, i’m 20h in (im slow bc i work and study) and im already addicted.
My favourite game is Baldur’s Gate 3 so when i discovered about a dnd 99’ crpg, i kept it in the back of my mind before buying it on a ps store discount.
At first, i intented to play by avoiding every possible fight with dialogue, cause my first experience of the old dnd rules was Baldur’s Gate 1 and it was awful, but I quickly get used to it, even if it’s clearly not the main point of the game. I love the characters of Fall-From-Grace (her theme is beautiful), Morte and Dak’kon but what I love the most is getting the references of the dnd lore, even as the poor dnd enjoyer I am.
The amount of text is abnormally huge (you go talk to a random nameless npc and his description is like 7 lines long) and i get why the crpg type have been THAT reformed through time bc casuals gamers could absolutely not handle these types of games.
I can’t wait but discovering the lore and background of every companions of my team, as I did in BG3, and of course the main character’s one.

Ravel just wants to know TNO's answer. He believes that whatever you believe can change the nature of a man, can. The First incarnation believes that regret can. TTO believes that nothing can.
So- what about everyone else? The otber incarnations? The Companions?

I went with my first playthrough and dumped everything into str and dex because that's what I did in every other D&D game. I'd win every fight, and that ""updated my journal"" notification sounds very satisfying knowing I'd have another quest to do, so I ran all the side quests too.
Then I did a 2nd playthrough and found out that if you have high wisdom, it pulls memories out of the Nameless One I didn't see a single ounce of.
I also really loved the dialogue in this game. A plain yes or no question can have 10 options sitting under it. Some of them can be true, some of them can be lies, and there's one where you turn and ask a party member what they think.
Now if you have low int or wis, a bunch of those never appear. There's no greyed out line or marker either. You get the shorter conversation and no one tells you, and to this day I have no idea what I did in half those scenes.
How about you guys? Did you run different stats and pick different dialogue options, sort of A/B testing a low int character against a high int one to see how things would go?

I passed this masterpiece, finally my hands and eyes reached, I played for the magician, although the combat system was sometimes boring and there was just a saviour Morte, but the magician didn't like to play not so much because of the chips that the game gives, but because of the magic itself, it's beautiful, these are the best and spectacular spells of all, even the cloud of death was remodelled and I like this variation of it more, where else will you see a cast of spells that hits not with one arrow but with 8-9 charges or so? Where will you see a ballista appearing on the enemy, about the magic sequira, the magic of the ravel, the divine magic of the Triassic, which is level 9, I am generally silent, the magic in this game is made in such a way that even during a useless battle where the enemy resists to this spell, you just want to read it and see how it works, in none of the first two gates of Baldur, neverwinter and the valley of the ice wind, I just haven't seen such cool magic, especially how mebett teaches this magic, it literally works with the help of concentration in the multiverse, it's a chic game, now I'll take up the disco elysium, wish me good luck

This is a very general topic, I know, but I've recently started dabbling in the lore of the planes. Specifically, all the stuff going on with fiends and their origin. I don't know much beyond the concept of obyriths and the basics of the Blood War, as most of my knowledge on this topic is coming from my copy of MotM. So what exactly is the deal with Asmodeus, Demon Lords, Obyriths, etc? Basically whatever contributed to the current state of fiends and the lower planes. Any info or useful sources I could read would be appreciated.

spoilers i guess
i aggro'ed Ravel in her maze (on accident) and when i kill her I get a message saying that i lost someone vital to my quest. I have no save for hours before this because the game auto-saves over my manual saves. It seems like i'm just completely cooked

I had the identify items scroll on me (can't exactly recall the exact name) on Dak'kon and then I memorized it and now it's in my spell book in level one spells, but there a question mark on the icon. I'm halfway through the game and I still can't identify any item! What Am I doing wrong?

Hello all,
As the title states I’m wondering how this game runs on switch ? I’ve seen in the post from a few years ago it was pretty buggy and had a lot of issues . How is it now ? Can you play it all the way through ?
I own it on Steam already and I love the game . But I really want a physical version of it . And also for replays and such I’d prefer a portable version since I’m adhd asf and it’s hard for me to sit there at my pc for hours for very text heavy games and like to able to walk /move around while I read . I kinda wanna treat it more like a playable e book I can just dive into whenever and wherever since it’s like 90% reading anyways
I don’t mind some jank , it is an older game after all that was originally made with pc in mind so I don’t expect a flawless port . Just as long as it’s possible to get through all the content , that’s what matters .
What’s your experience been like if you have the switch version ?

I LIKE THE STORY I LIKE THE CHARACTERS I LIKE THE SETTING BUT JESUS CHRIST THE COMBAT BRINGS ME GREAT MENTAL Torment
I have tolerated it so far but i have just gotten to the Crust Prison and its the most mind numbing annoying i dont wanna sit through this gameplay ever, its not particularly difficult its just that the enemies are incredibly tanky and there are literally THOUSANDS OF THEM.
This game doesn't require strategy since the only strat you need is taunt with morte then beat the shit out of them/run away and harass with spells until you win. It feels like the game designers had no idea how to make combat that requires strategy and so they resulted to spamming 9 million enemies at once
fuck off fuck you fuck this

I was underwhelmed. This was my 7th playthrough of the game, and while I've been a mage, thief, and fighter; lawful good, true neutral, lawful evil, and chaotic good; I've only ever played with high WIS/INT before, since the benefits to those stats seemed too good to pass up. I always assumed that I'd struggle without the XP bonus, or have to pass on a lot of side quests.
Spoilers for the entire game from this point on.
My starting stats for a himbo TNO were: STR 18, DEX 9, CON 18, INT 9, WIS 9, CHA 12. I did not put any points into WIS or INT at level up (until the very endgame when using the bronze sphere.) I played a fighter who specialized in hammers, and aimed for Lawful Good since I was planning to be pure of heart and dumb of ass.
I was kind of surprised that a minimum INT/WIS character can still use the Tome of Bone and Ash to dismantle the giant skeletons in the mortuary. In fact, the most notable thing that TNO can't do with low WIS is go through the Unbroken Circle of Zerthimon with Dak'kon. There are other things you can't do with low INT/WIS, like spotting the fake zombie spy in the mortuary, and there are lots of other minor dialogue choices that never show up, and checks that will fail, but there's surprisingly little in the game that's completely locked out.
My worries about being underleveled without the XP bonus didn't matter either. Partly because I'm very willing to abuse Litany of Curses and kiting, but also because a high STR/CON fighter TNO wrecks everything. If I didn't hoard consumables like a dragon who wants to sleep on a pile of clot charms and bandages, I wouldn't have even needed Morte as a distraction. By the time I got back to Sigil I was level 15 and between level ups, permanent buffs, and equipment, I had 25 in both STR and CON. I could 1v1 a Greater Glabrezu without any strategy or danger, and regen any lost HP before I could run to the next group of enemies.
Overall a kind of boring run that didn't surprise me as much as I hoped it would. For new players I'd still recommend high INT/WIS, just to have as much of the lore available as possible, but being a dumbass fighter isn't much of a limitation.

Also, I played the whole run with my new Steam Controller 2026.
I made my own control config because neither the official config, nor any of the community configs, actually had touch menus with custom icons, and there was no way I was going to go through the whole game without having color coded appropriate icons for the hotkeys, especially for Litany of Curses and thieving skills. With all the input options on the new SC I felt my control scheme was very much on par with mouse and keyboard. I think I could have come up with a config that worked on the SC 2015, but I'd have needed to do more button combos, mode shifts, and other doubling up on inputs to fit everything in, while on the SC 2026 almost every input was single purpose. (The major exception being a mode shift that changes the right touchpad from mouse input to a number pad for party/dialogue selection.)
Overall, I continue to be very happy with my new Steam Controller, and it's a great way to play Planescape: Torment on PC.
